Chapter 45: Chapter 45
Ranveer's POV
"I am really sorry Ranveer,” Avni said as I was packing the bag.
"I don’t know how it happened,” she continued as she sat beside me.
"It's okay. I understand it was not your fault,” she said as she held my hand.
"Take care of yourself,” she said and I nodded in a yes.
"Okay so I will leave,” I said and she pouted.
"You could have stayed for few more day.”
"Here my work is finished Avni but still I extended my stay for few more days because of you,” I said and she hugged me.
I hugged her back.
"So, take care of yourself and I will call you when I will reach home,” I said breaking our hug.
Home.
It's not home anymore from the day she left.
"Okay,” I said and went towards the hall to see her Mom was reading newspaper.
"Okay aunty I will leave,” I said and she looked at me.
"Okay Ranveer. Bye and whenever you are here, you know our door is always open for you.” She told me and I smiled.
"I know aunty,” I said and took a taxi towards the airport.
*****
I sat on the chair and beside me there was a couple holding hands and she was resting her head on his shoulder.
Flashback
She changed into her night suit, sat beside me and laid her head on my chest.
Sleeping like this on your chest and listening to your heartbeat makes me calm,” she said as I was stroking her hair.
"And I love when my fingers get tangled in your hair,” I said and she laughed.
"When did we both became so poetic?" she asked still laughing.
"Since we met each other,” I said and she was still laughing. Her laughter echoing around the room.
End of flashback.
From the day she left the silence of the whole house was eating me out.
Each and every part of the house was surrounded by her scent and laughter and that's why I stopped staying in house because staying in that house fell useless without her.
I had stayed alone for so many years in that house but now I can't stay there without remembering her.
I never knew a person can have so much impact in our life.
One day I almost took my car and went towards her house but controlled myself before I could go in her area because I knew after seeing her I will be weak and at that time I decided I will never go in her area but one day I had to cross her house to go to a meeting and I am glad I did.
I came to know that she opened a drawing class.
I was shocked when I saw the name of the drawing class.
Veer drawing class.
I told all my business associates about the class and asked them to send their children there if they are interested but I did not tell my staff because they had met her and would ask questions about why she is not with me.
I am glad she is trying to move on in her life because I know my life has stopped the day she left.
She took everything from me but if she stayed with me and I hurt her more ?
No.
It's better that she is away from me and moving on in her life.
As long as she is fine, I am happy.
*****
Finally after long hours of travelling I reached my hometown and was waiting for a taxi.
After almost ten minutes I got a taxi.
I was looking outside the window and each and every couple holding hands and walking together it reminded me of us.
The time we spent together.
Everyone looks so happy and in love.
Am I the only one who is not happy?
Is Naina happy without me?
Of course she is happy. She is moving on in her life without me.
Without me ?
Am I only one sad and stuck in the past ?
But she is not my past.
She is my forever.
I should be happy she is moving on and I am happy but I am not feeling happy.
My heart stopped for a minute as I saw Naina with the children of orphanage in the ice-cream parlour and she was giving ice-cream to everyone.
I remembered the first time I saw her.
"Stop the car,” the words which came from my mouth surprised me and the taxi driver.
I don’t know why but I wanted to go there.
"But this is not the address you said,” he said as he stopped the car.
Without answering his question I eagerly gave the fare to taxi driver and took out my bag and got out of the car.
"Hello everyone,” I greeted everyone and she turned around and looked at me, and our eyes met.
I could see the shocked expression on her face and she was not the only one shocked.
I was shocked by my action.
I don’t know why I did it but after seeing her after so many days I could not stop myself from meeting her.
"Hello uncle,” everyone greeted as they saw me.
"What are you doing here?" she asked me.
After so many days I heard her voice.
She was looking so beautiful in a simple baby pink kurti and black leggings.
Her simplicity was the thing I love most about her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked again breaking me out of my thoughts.
"I came here to meet the children,” I said and she saw the bag in my hands.
"Uncle where have you gone?" Pranav asked as he pointed towards my bag.
"I had gone for a business meeting. Anyways are you enjoying the ice-cream?" I asked and everybody yelled an 'yes'.
"Okay everybody let's go. I will drop you to the orphanage,” she said.
"Uncle please come with us,” some of the children said.
"Okay,” I said and we went towards the orphanage.
As we reached the orphanage we bid goodbye to every one and we came outside. She came out and stood in front of me.
"How are you?” I asked to start a conversation.
Now we have to use such a common line to start a conversation like strangers.
Once we had so much to talk and look at us now.
"Let's talk about you. You are happy that I am finally out of your life, right?" she said and walked away from me.
Once again breaking my heart into pieces.
