Madison POV

I stepped out of my office few minutes later after crying my eyes out and wiping my face. I don’t want it to be obvious to people out there that I cried. I kept my head low as I walked through the hospital floors till I got to the door of Krystal's office. I heaved a sigh and raised my hands up to knock on her door.

“It’s open please,” her voice came up from the other end. I twisted the door knob and stepped into her office. Krystal was leaning against her table with a file in her hand, “How may I help you please?” she asks as she turned around and saw me standing before her.

“Oh, Madison …” she said lowly as she took slow steps to me. I faked a smile at her but she shakes her head and pulled me to a hug, “I know that smile of yours is fake Madison, I am so sorry about what happened” she said and pulled away from the hug.

I scoffed lowly as I rolled my eyes, “Oh c’mon, I am not here for us to talak about Zach and his fiancée.” I shrugged then took a step further to her seat and sat down with my head held up high.

“Oh.” Krystal mouthed, squinting at me. She swallowed heavily then stood before me, “Aren’t you__” I didn’t let her complete. “You shouldn’t talk about that you know?” I smiled at her

“It was bound to happen; it has Krystal, and we can’t change it.” I added and slowly crossed my legs. She said nothing but stared at me then sighed.

“Alright then, so what’s popping? Damn, girl I am really trying not to talk about Zach and his fiancée but I can’t help it. I think you really need to listen to what Zach has to say so we don’t be the one stupid.” She said and I scoffed.

“This life has taught me a lot Krystal; I don’t think I would be able to listen to him Krystal.” I rolled my eyes and threw my gaze to the left.

“You are being this way because you are hurt emotionally Madison. Sometimes, we need to relax and think before we make a decision and I know you already made a decision to never see him or speak to him…” she said and I turned back to her, yes, she is right.

“Krystal_”

“No Madison, you might regret your decisions later on, don’t you think so?” she cut me off. I said nothing but stared at her blanky then looked away.

“Why would you think Zach is innocent?” I ask lowly

“Well, he doesn’t look like one that has a fiancée, I mean…you saw the way he was towards you. So, why would you think he has been lying to you all along? Did he ever mention he has a fiancée?” she asked and I laughed

“Don’t you know men are scums? Does he have to tell me he has a fiancée? Does he have to look like one that does too? For goodness sake, Zach is a man, you shouldn’t expect less from him” I rolled my eyes

“Why are you suddenly comparing to other men out there? I really don’t want to drag this topic with you Madison.” She sighed as she sat on her table.

“Adrian never mentioned it, Liam never did too…I mean none of his family ever did. They were all talking about you and Zach” she added with a shrug

“Well, I really don’t know if I should trust these male genders again because Kingsley has just proven to me, he is an a**hole” I scoffed. She carves her brows at me and snapped her fingers at me.

“You had a fight with him?”

“You can call it one, can you imagine that the Kingsley we had always thought was a computer scientist is actually part of a mafia gang?” I asked her and her jaw drops with her eyes wide.

“Kingsley?” she gasped

“Yes, one and only Kingsley. And do you know the most annoying part of the story?”

“He is one of Greg's men. Zach’s rival for crying out loud.” I added and she flinches back with a loud gasp.

“No f*cking way, this is not good, has Zach found out?” she asked

“No, he hasn’t, I don’t know how to tell him. Right now, it doesn’t matter since we are not even speaking to each other.” I shrugged

“Still, what if any of his men finds out we are related to Kingsley? It'd really look like we are spies don’t you think?” she asked. I stared at her without saying a single word.

“Look Madison, I am just anxious. I don’t want to be hated by anyone, my relationship with Adrian hasn’t gone anywhere and now his rival is my ex-crush or something. I would be hated when he finds out because he would think I have been deceiving him all along” she cried as she covered her mouth with her palm.

She's right, Zach would think same about me too.

“Can you please stop freaking out Krystal?” I groaned as I got up from the seat and paced around the office with my head low.

“I understand your point, believe me. I really don’t know what to do too when Zach finds out. I’d prefer telling him before he finds out, but I don’t know if I can anytime soon….” I said lowly

“F*ck, I will tell Adrian then.” She blurts out and I widen my eyes as I turned to look at her with a ‘what the F*ck’ facial expression on.

“What did you say? No, don’t.” I said immediately

“God, I don’t like any of this Madison.” Krystal cried out as she held her head with her hands

“I don’t either, here we are, our worlds being turned from being a surgeon to being involved with mafias. My parents would never have wanted this for me” I sighed heavily.
