Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Madison POV

I really don’t know what Zach is made up of. Why would he be living me in the middle of every encounter I have with him. I am not supposed to complain. Just forget him Madison.

I shook my head and turned back to my table after releasing a heavy sigh. I let my head fall back low and sighed again then, I heard a voice from behind which made me flinch back again.

“Madison could you__”

“Oh Zach stop it! You are already driving me crazy” I exclaimed heavily. It was later on I recognized the voice wasn’t that of Zach but Dr. Melvin. My eyes went wide open immediately and my mouth open.

I turned around to see Dr. Melvin standing by the door with a confused facial expression.

“Oh!” I mouthed and gave a soft chuckle

“Are you sure you are okay Dr. Madison?” he first of all asked me.

Now I have to fake a smile at him. “Ah doctor, yes I am… was just uh...uh...you know” I chuckled then walked slowly back to my seat.

“Maybe I don’t, few seconds ago you shouted out Zach's name, did you perhaps see him?” he asked me with a carved brow.

“Dr. Melvin, I was actually hallucinating” I replied with a fake smile hoping he would stop the questions.

“Oh okay then, well I heard the surgery was successful so I came to congratulate you” he replied with a smile.

“Aww thanks. I appreciate” I smiled. He returned a smile at me before he turned around maybe to leave

“ And regarding your hallucinations, I think it would be best you stop thinking about such a dangerous person” he replied then walked out through the door without waiting for to hear my own reply, not like I have anything to say about what he had just said.

I sniffed in then crossed my legs on my seat as I let my head fall back low after releasing a heavy sigh.

EVENING

“Kingsley said he would be coming today, I should be expecting him few hours from now I guess, and what do you think?” I asked Krystal as we made our way to the car.

Krystal and I are done for the day and now, we are heading to my house to have a good rest and also to welcome Kingsley. I already texted him my address like hours ago.

“Oh yeah, you mentioned that to me in your office” she replied and stood by the passenger’s seat door

“Yep, I am so happy he would be coming” I giggled as I pushed the car button to unlock the doors.

“Yeah, you should be and if I may ask, why are you even happy?” she laughed.

I don’t find her question stupid. It is not like I am going to be spending time with Kingsley.

“You are a busy Doctor, I know he is the only family member you have. I am just your best friend and of course our relationship has left the level of seeing ourselves as best friends but now, as sisters from another mother” she simply replied

“yeah, you are right completely, Kingsley is always busy and so am I, at least I am going to see his face and get the goodies he has for me” I shrugged with a low laugh

“Damn, you psycho!” Krystal laughs out as we both stepped into the car to leave the hospital.

“Well, I know even when he comes here, he would also get busy with work. Right now, I don’t give a f*ck about what he would be doing here in NY” I chuckled and ignite the car engine before I drove away.

Kingsley POV

I was seated in the plane to New York for over five hours, it felt like my flight would never come to an end but it finally did.

I boarded down the plane with my luggage, now I have to stop a taxi. I can imagine how Madison would react once she sees me.

I pulled my luggage behind me and walked to where I think is a place I am to stand if I want to get a taxi.

My phone made a buzzing sound alerting me I have an incoming phone call. I sighed then tucked my right hand into my pocket to bring out my phone and stared at the screen for some time.

He is calling, I knew he would.

I swiped the screen to answer the call and placed my phone on my left ear, tucking my right hand back into my pocket.

“You landed already?” his voice came up from the other end

“Yeah, few minutes ago” I replied

“Okay, welcome to NY again, you left last year and now you are back again after completing your mission. You know you should have returned after completing your mission but you chose to stay back Kingsley” he replied.

Madison thinks I left years ago but no I left last year because I had something to handle and I could not tell her about it.

“You don’t expect me to leave such a beautiful country like that” I laughed lowly

“Yeah I understand, where are you now?” he asked

“I am still at the Airport, I want to get a taxi now” I replied

“Taxi? Why don’t you wait there while I send a car to come get you?” he replied. I can’t accept his offer because I already informed Madison I would be coming to see here. I am not going to lie to her this time, the last time, she thought I already left New York because I lied to her but this time, there ain’t gonna be such. I’ve missed Madison a lot, missed Krystal too even though I am sure she would not want to see my face.

“Uh no, don’t worry about that. I told my cousin I would be coming over to see her” I replied

“Your Cousin? You have a cousin here?” he asked me but I said no words in reply.

“You know you are back in New York for work, you won’t have all the time to spend with her Kingsley” he replied sounding like he is a little mad I told him I have to see Madison.

“I clearly understand, but I have to see her, I am her only family boss. As soon as I am done with her, by tomorrow I’ll come over to the mansion” I replied

“Alright then, you have just tomorrow. I need to see you as soon as possible Kingsley, we are on hot seat now” he replied.

“No Problem at all, we would talk tomorrow” I replied as he ended the call.

I turned to my right and saw a cab coming towards me then I signaled it to stop which it did. The driver walked out to pack my loads in the car boot before I walked into the car to seat at the back seat.

Madison POV

Time is going so fast, I already texted Kingsley and he said he is few meters away from my house. Krystal and I are in the kitchen preparing dinner. We have been quiet the whole time until she spoke up.

“Kingsley..I have been thinking lately about the job he does, Madison have you ever thought of it?” she said as she paused dicing the carrot

I carved my brows, “Uh..he mentioned to me he is a computer scientist. That was years back though..what’s up?” I asked finding it weird she suddenly asked.

“Nothing much, I just wanted to know and now that we are not sure what he is doing, I guess we will ask him when he comes. After the young man gets enough rest” she smiled
