Madison POV

Krystal’s face dropped immediately and that’s leaving me confused. I carved my brows at her then sighed.

“Are you okay?” I asked her. I expected her to be happy I just told her about Kingsley but it looks like it’s the opposite. She scoffed; I can tell she rolled her eyes too.

“Uh..Kingsley?” she asked

“Whose name did I just mention miss” I replied.

“Well, I wasn’t expecting him so soon” she replied lowly.

“Krystal, did you have a fight with him or something? I thought you would be excited” I replied

“What? Of course not Madison. Why would I have a fight with your cousin?” she laughed lowly and I shrugged.

“You are sounding like you did” I replied

“He’s just calling? Since? Well, it’s okay anyways. Is he coming over to NY?” she replied

“Yup!” I exclaimed happily

“Alright then, we’ll be waiting” she replied.

I made a low sound then remembered she mentioned Adrian.

“Yeah, about Adrian….”

“Oh..c’mon, do not tell me you are bringing this up now..” she groaned and I laughed lowly.

“So tell me, since when have you been crushing on him huh?” I asked her with a side smile on my face.

“You should have asked me who I later spent my night with at the bar” she replied.

What the!

“Krystal??” I exclaimed with my jaw dropped down. “Damn, how come I never thought of it?” I gasped while she kept on laughing.

“Madison, he is very good like so good” now she is being naughty.

“Ugh! Just stop it. I will end the conversation here because this is not something I will like to discuss over the phone” I gigged

“Yeah, I know” she replied snickering.

“I know you want to study now, I’ll leave you to read okay? I need to prepare dinner now” she continued and I nod my head.

“Okay love, see you tomorrow then” I replied and ended the call.

I turned to my bed and threw my phone gently on it, gosh.. I can’t believe I am still smiling.

How come I never thought of it?

Well, that’s Krystal anyways, she is always blessed with handsome men and now I think she is having a crush on Adrian.

I shook my head with a low laugh then pulled myself closer to my table; it is time to read.

MORNING

Few weeks later,

I’ve let a week pass and I have not heard a word from Zach and to be honest, it has been peaceful. There was no Zach to barge into the hospital scare patients, mesmerize me and even come into my house. Work has been moving smoothly, no stress from anywhere and I felt like my life has fallen back into place, like my life has calmed down.

I just finished an operation on a patient. He was diagnosed with appendices and again, the operation went successfully. I returned a smile to every patient, doctors and staffs that greeted me.

I made my way to the restroom to wash my hands and as soon as I was done, I stepped out of the restroom to go back to my office.

A little break is worth it.

Making my way into my office, I brought out my phone from my pocket to see if I’ve got a mail or even text message from anyone.

Okay, no mails yet but a text message from Kingsley.

I smiled and tapped on his message to see what he has to say.

“Hi love, hope you had a lovely night sleep?”

“I trust you did anyways, and guess what? I’ll be in NY soon, my flight would be tonight. I can’t wait to see you again so be expectant”

I read his text message and giggled happily. I got to my office doorstep, the thought of seeing Kingsley again is bringing me nothing but happiness and that made me squeal happily as I walked into my office.

“Argh!!” I screamed out of shock. I stepped into my office to see someone who was neither a patient nor a doctor in my office.

“What the hell are you doing in here?!” I yelled at the top of my voice; startled..

“You aren’t supposed to be in here seriously!, this is where I draw the line. You are crossing your boundaries!” I state with an irritated look on my face instead, Zach leaned against my seat properly and gave me a side smile. His hands crossed around his suit covering his chest. The look he is giving me is killing for goodness sake!

God!

He is so attractive

“You need to leave me alone, you were just a one night stand don’t you get it Zach?”

“Just get over me please” I rolled my eyes and made my way to my table to drop down the file I held in my hands.

Zach got up from the swivel chair after releasing a sigh and all he did was to walk closer to me.

“I thought Dr. Madison was happy few seconds ago” he said and slowly stood behind me. I sighed heavily and turned around to look at him standing just few inches away from me.

“What do you think you are doing?” I muttered lowly but he carved his brows at me waiting for me to answer his question.

“Oh well I was earlier until I saw you” I replied with a shrug.

He scoffed and walked a little more closely to me. I gulped down heavily

“if only you know what you do to me” he whispers in my ear and I shiver as my breathing hitches. I could feel the Goosebumps appear on my skin. Zach’s pulled away but his eyes were fixed on my neck or my chest, whichever...I don’t know.

He gave a side grin. Damn!

He probably noticed the Goosebumps on my skin. “Clearly I make you feel the same type of way too” he chuckles and stepped back.

Is he really trying to leave again?

He turned his back to me and tucked his hands into his pocket as he made his way to the door.

“Zach!” I called out immediately and he stopped his steps but didn’t turn back to look at me

“Oh sweetheart, you should stop playing hard for me to get okay?” he replied before he finally walked out of my office.

Goddamn it!

Zach POV

In just few days of knowing Madison, I’ve discovered she is very terrible at hiding things. You can read her like a book and by her looks, her words will say otherwise but her actions doesn’t lie. She instantly falls at my touch.

Now I will leave her to work today. I don’t want to keep hovering around her although I prefer her shirts off but that would make me make a drastic move.
