Chapter 33: Chapter 33

"I shall join you then. It's dangerous for a woman to be alone." His manly voice filled my ears that I couldn't reject his offer.

Damn, what am I thinking? I have to reject his offer. How could this guy have a lot of charm? Really, now I could say that the 3K's could truly hypnotize a person, especially their leader who has a very strong aura that one could even recognize from a far.

I sighed and shook my head as a sign of disapproval to his statement. It was of course I am too shy to have someone as high as him to accompany a commoner like me and... Butch is connected to the man I was trying to avoid.

I am sure that given that he is friends with the owner of the Astrid University, he is surely from a rich family too. I could still clearly remember Anne's words.

'They are not just a group, Maive. They are more than that, they have the highest ranks in the world of wolves and we barely see them, probably once in a blue moon and it was a surprise that they were here.'

They have the highest ranks but now, Butch is offering me a help, sounds impossible. They are barely seen, however, I often run onto them.

Damn, what have I gotten myself into?

"I don't want to waste your time," I said to Butch.

He chuckled, showing his bright smile and his oceanic blue eyes which filled with amusement.

"It is getting dark, Maive and you seem not to be familiar with this place too." He calmly stated.

I only realized then that the sun has already set and it is really getting dark. I must have been asking around for some time now.

"You can't say no to me. I wouldn't let a woman roaming around the streets... especially you." He said seriously which made my forehead immediately crease from his words.

"I mean, of course, I wouldn't let a classmate of mine roam around the street at night." He defended as he smiled and I nodded in understanding.

In the end, even if I wanted to protest, that feels too illegal to do especially for someone as high as him, even the girls and women passing by couldn't help but glance at Butch, not just women though but even men of this place, some were bowing their heads in respect. Damn, he really is very famous, not just inside the school but also outside the school.

Is Daxton this famous too?

I sighed and nodded at Butch which made him smiled widely. He is really friendly and approachable than those two who looked scary and intimidating.

I started walking and just let Butch walk with me as I asked the people around.

"You have no idea where your family resides?" He asked, getting a little curious while looking intensely at me.

"It is a long story," I answered bitterly as I searched for another person to ask.

"My friend's from here. He surely knows. Shall I ask him for you?" Butch offered.

I immediately looked at him with a little joy in my eyes and his reaction turned amused. "Really? Could you do that?" I asked, getting my hopes high.

He nodded, looking at me intently. "Daxton surely knows everything here."

As soon as I heard his name, the smile on my face had suddenly disappeared. There goes that nervous feeling again. I thought earlier when he said a friend is someone other than that person. I just did not think of of all people, Butch was referring to that dangerous being.

Very dangerous being.

"N-No!" That was my immediate response.

Butch was a bit surprised by my reaction that his eyes narrowed in mischief. Damn, I felt my cheeks getting red from the embarrassment as my heart beats abnormally faster.

"I-I'll just look for them on my own," I stuttered, answering, feeling the heat from my cheeks.

Shit, only that Daxton could affect me like this and Butch seems to be making this an entertainment.

He raised his brows, "Did you change your mind that fast?" he said and I could feel as if he was trying not to smile. Was he? Or I'm just imagining and making up things.

I smiled shyly. "I s-should go back home," I said and until now I keep stuttering.

Butch nodded and said, "There are only a few Taxis here. I'll drop you off."

Why is he being so kind to me? Is he really like this? He seemed to be the most approachable among his friends but there is still something in his aura that makes him special than some commoners like me. It feels so illegal to be here with him and now he is offering to take me back. With the look on his face, I knew he was sincere.

"N-No. I w-will just wait for a Taxi here." I answered. Still stuttering, I could not believe that I was able to converse with someone as high as this man. He is just one of the stars in the sky that is impossible to reach and being with this man feels uncomfortable especially from the stares we received on the people passing by.

Everything is just sinking right now.

He shook his head as a sign of disapproval to my response. He is now looking more serious than earlier. "I won't leave you here alone, Maive."

"W-why are you g-getting so kind Butch?" I was finally able to ask the question in my mind, damn, even saying his name seems expensive.

Despite that he is really this kind, it is only our first encounter other than the class. It is kind of doubtful to be this kind to a stranger who you just met.

In the school they seems untouchable because they are the highest and respected but right now, Butch is acting as if he is just a normal being. However, the look of the people passing by is reminding me that he is not just a normal being, but an individual with a high rank in the werewolf race.

Butch chuckled as he slightly tapped my shoulders. "Let us just say that you are one of a kind," he said with a smile on his face as he wink at me.

I was confused at his words, I couldn't understand it though. However, I felt my cheeks blushing once again because of those words. He chuckled even more at my response.

In the end, I wasn't able to refuse again. With a phone call, he called for someone who I think was his driver. A few minutes later, a car stopped in front of us. And I have a hunch that it was his.

It was really his car as he guided me to enter the passenger seat where he also sat. He sat beside me and I really felt so conscious about myself. There goes my nervousness again.

"Back to Astrid University," he instructed his driver.

"W-wait... How did you know that I'm living there?" I asked. If I remember it right, I told him that I should go home but not back to the university.

He stared at me for a couple of seconds and then shrugged his shoulders, "I just figured it out."

I nodded, shrugging off the thoughts from my head. I should focus on finding my father's family and not on anyone else.

Soon enough, with my head being occupied by my family, we arrived in front of the women's dormitory.

"Thank you, Butch. It was nice meeting you." I said before going out of his car.

He nodded and smiled. "Take care."

I nodded with a smile on my face, feeling grateful to him.

As soon as I got out of his car, I sighed. Despite him being kind, I still feel that I shouldn't be there. Our world just doesn't match and I should avoid him as much as possible because I knew that it would only attract more bullies. I heard the car ran away and I knew that Butch went back to his home.

"Is that Fender?" Out of nowhere, a familiar voice filled my ears. It was Tobias. He was outside the dormitory, waiting for me out here.

I sighed once again. I did not answer him because he already knew the answer to that question.

"Why are you with him?" He asked, sounding so pissed.

I sat on the bench in front of our dormitory while Tobias just stood up in front of me and he looked far from being in a good mood.

"I just crossed paths with him." I simply answered as I looked straight.

He clenched his jaw, looking annoyed. What did I do? I waited for him earlier but he seems so busy.

"Do you like that Fender?" He sounds really annoyed. Must have been a bad day for him to be this annoyed over nothing.

"Are you insane, Tobias?" I responded as I looked at him, getting a little annoyed with his behavior.

"It is dangerous... to be around him, Maive, especially around his group. Don't be fooled." He warned.

"I'm not stupid. I am completely aware of that, Tobias."
