Chapter 18

Maria POV

I could see Nancy turning into a tomato. I thought of giving them space. I felt like a third wheel among the two love birds.

“ Guys, I need to go to the washroom. Would you excuse me? " I got up and turned my heels towards the bathroom. They actually looked so cute together. The perfect couple like the ones I read in some fancy novels. She did looked like a princess who got a prince charming in her life.

I giggled thinking about their life. So cute.

Nancy looked shocked. She pinched her skirt stronger and gestured me not to leave her but I winked at her and left. She needs to open her heart towards him. I knew he loved her. He asked me about her a hundred times in college. So it was not very surprising for me. I was so happy about her. I paced through the garden while giving them time. After some time, Aaron called me back. I went back to see Nancy looking more blushed than before. She looked surprised. Her face was full of unreadable expressions.

Aaron said goodbye and left us. As soon as he left Nancy pulled me towards a bench in the middle of the garden. Her hand was shaking. She was cold as ice.

" What's wrong? You look like you have seen a ghost. " I asked her.

" Well it's worse," she said to me.

“Huh “ I was so confused.

"Well," she breathed.

“ Aaronisawerewolf” she sighed.

“What ?” I asked her. I wasn't sure what she was mumbling.

“Aaron is a werewolf and he told me I am his mate. He is an alpha.” She said to me.

“Oh my god. He is a werewolf and an alpha " No wonder he came here. He came here to look for his mate. He finally found her. It was Nancy all along. They are destined to be together.

I looked at a blushing Nancy. I could see the love in her eyes. Like she had been waiting for him a long time.

I felt so happy for her. We humans knew about werewolves. Humans and werewolves lived together in harmony. But it was rare of a human to become a werewolf’s mate.

“If he is an alpha. Then that means you are going to be his future queen. A Luna. “ I was excited.

“You are so lucky to have an alpha as your mate. Especially they are more powerful and superior than humans. They are practically like living gods.” I said to her.

“ I know but how is this possible. How can be a human become a mate to a werewolf especially an alpha .” She was biting her nails. Confused spread across her eyes.

“Maybe you two are blessed by the goddess. He is a nice guy Nancy. He came here especially for you. He always used to ask me about you. He gave me a hint that he liked you. A mating bond is very strong for an alpha. You have to accept his love .” I looked at her face which was shining like a full moon.

“ Guess you had already accepted him.” I giggled.

“I Know. I feel so happy when he came back for me. We are two souls which are destined to be together. And guess what. He invited me for a date tomorrow “ she giggled.

Nancy told me she had the most romantic moments with her. She said she had the first kiss that felt like electricity following through her.

The first kiss was very important for a girl especially when it was with the person she admired the most.

My hand went automatically to touch my lips. He came into my mind. He tortured and stole my first kiss. I was like a toy to him.

'Well if you finished daydreaming about him, I need to buy ice cream." I smiled.

'Well it's my treat. I am so happy today. " she giggled.

"Ok then. Blueberry for me." I pointed towards the menu card " Chocolate for me " Nancy added.

I was thinking about Nancy on my way to the college. I needed to congratulate Aaron. He was the only friend in my college and he was my best friend's mate.

I saw him coming towards me. I gave him a warm smile.

“ I am so happy for you guys.” I hugged him. He hugged me back and returned me a warm smile.

“ I knew she was my mate when I turned 18. I had to wait one more year so I could come and make her mine," he said to me.

“ It wasn't so hard for me to come here since Mike's uncle is my godfather. “ he continued.

“Wait a second. Are you indirectly telling me that Mike is a werewolf? I mean his uncle is your godfather that makes him a werewolf which could get to the conclusion that Mike is one too." I was astonished.

“ Well aren't you a smart one ?” he chuckled.

So that means my guess was true. I had a feeling that he was one. His eyes told me so. He was so handsome for a human. His eyes sparkled when he talked.

“I need to stay away from him. He could kill me if he wanted to. He took advantage of me every time I was with him.” Fear conquered me.

Aaron was surprised. He was confused. He opened his mouth to say something but he closed his mouth immediately and looked away from my direction.

Mike couldn't come to me anymore because of Aaron clinging to me everywhere. But he followed me everywhere we went.

I learned that Mike will be the future alpha of my town. He was going to rule us. I wished Aaron could be our Alpha. He was sweet and friendly, unlike Mike who was cold and bitter.

I always wished to see the man in my dreams. My best friend was happy and was in cloud nine after getting the chance to meet Aaron. The sweetest boy every girl wished to get as a husband. Mike and I came from two completely opposite worlds. I don't think something would work between us. I don't know anything. I could only think about my family and my future.

Chapter19

Mike POV

I leaned towards a wall and watched my Maria and that idiot Aaron talking and laughing at a distance. I wanted to go and rip him into pieces. I needed her to come back to me. She wasn't with me for her to come back to me. But she always belonged to me. I decided to talk with her tonight. Maybe she will smack me for the way I behaved with her. But I still decided to pay a visit to my lovely mate.

" Damn she looks awesome in that mini skirt. Those damn legs will be mine to look at."

Aaron was like her shadow following her everywhere not sparing her in class, canteen, or library. I don't believe she was his mate. A wolf could get a second mate after his first mate's death. He may have lied to me. I will break his bond with her.

I mentally slapped myself for not speaking with her when I got the chance. I will make her mine.

I sneaked out of my room at midnight. My parents used to watch television shows till 11 pm. But I was lucky because my father wasn't home and my mom went to sleep early. I waited till midnight for her to fall asleep. I don't want her to get suspicious about me. The night was so cold and calm. Few vehicles roamed on the streets.

I decided to walk to her house because my bike's because its thunderous sound may wake her up.

The street lights cast a shadow over me. My mind was overflowing with her thoughts. I needed to be careful with her, I don't want her to scream.

I climbed through her window. Her room was small but beautifully decorated with her crafts. The walls were painted with baby blue color. The was so old and cold. There was a wooden bookshelf having a few books.

I looked at my Maria who was sleeping peacefully.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?.” My wolf asked.

“This is the best chance I got. Aaron is testing my patience. “

I removed the sheet covering her body. She was beautiful.

"Alpha, we could take a piece of her cloth with us. In that way, her scent will be always with us.” My wolf said to me.

I headed to her closet and opened it. Her beautiful scent mixed with wood flourished in my mind.

“ What to take ?. Mmm. How about lingerie? “

“Don't be a pervert. “ my wolf sounded irritated.

“I was joking. Let's take that pink handkerchief over there.” I pointed towards a folded handkerchief. I took that cloth and sniffed. I could still smell her even though it was washed many times. Between her intoxicating smell, I faint smell caught my attention. It was the smell of her tears. It seems like she wiped her tears many times before.

“ Was it because of me?. This tears. Did I caused it?.” My wolf was silent. He indirectly told me I caused all this.

“ I will never make you sad.” I sniffed her handkerchief for a few seconds and put it behind my back pocket and turned towards her.

I slowly walked towards her and sat beside her. I tried to wake her up. I made sure to cover her mouth in case she screamed.

She slowly opened her eyes. Her big eyes fell on me and widen with shock. She was about to scream but I quickly covered her mouth. She tried to push and kick me but I was too strong for her. Tears started to form in her eyes made my heart sink.

“Don't scream. I didn't come here to hurt you. I came here to talk with you regarding something you must know. This is very important for both you and me.” I said to her calmly.

She was shivering from my touch. I slowly loosened my grip around her mouth.

“Please listen, my life depends on it more than anything else. “ I said to my crying mate who seemed to calm a little bit.

“ How dare you come here in the middle of the night. I don't wish to hear anything from you," she said looking furious. She looked hot when she is angry.

“Listen Maria. I am an alpha. I am very well aware that you knew about me. You are my mate. You belonged to me and only me. I can't wait any longer. I will die without you. I am very sorry for the things that I have done for you. " I said without looking at her.

I turned up and looked at her. Her expression confused me. A mixture of surprise and anger.

"Is this one of your tricks Mike? Because I don't trust you anymore. “ she was furious.

“No. I am telling the truth. You are my woman. I found out after that incident. I was never mean to you. Remember I sat with you during classes and came to the library to see you. I never tried to hurt you.” I begged her.

I wanted her to know how a mate bond works. She looked like she could kill me if she wants.

I walked towards her step by step. She was frozen to the place but she managed her courage to walk back till she hit the walls.

“ Let me show you.” I grabbed her waist. She shivered when I touched her naked stomach. I touched her navel which made her close her eyes. I went down to kiss her stomach causing her to moan. I stood up and kissed her neck before finding her lips. I put my tongue inside her mouth which made her moan. Her breathing becomes harder and she kissed me back. She wrapped her hands behind my neck and started to play with my hair. I could feel the spark. The bond was getting better. We kissed for a few minutes before I pulled back. I looked into her eyes for a few seconds before walking up to the windows and jumping down.

I decided to give her some time.
