My mind had gone somewhere since he came into my room. I was confused. I felt those sparks like he told me. Even if he was my mate I was still afraid of him. He always had that cold and dark vibe that sent shivers down my spine.

I sat in the garden waiting for Aaron. He said his soccer practice would wind up in half an hour. I was exhausted and bored.

Today's pressure was so much for me to handle. Few more months remained till I graduate. I thought of going to a different city for my future job.

Need to buy a better house and settle there with my parents. Maybe Mike would forget about me and find a better girl than me.

He thinks I was dirty. I would never forget that day when he called me that. It sounded genuine from his mouth. It was harsh and painful.

I must reject him so he could become free from this mating bond.

He will have a second chance maybe with Amanda. I always found her looking at him with those love-struck eyes. He belongs to her, only her. He always looked so happy with her.

My thoughts had been washed away by the sound of footsteps coming in my direction. My eyes have been met with his blue ones which held emotions that I was able to decipher. Those emotions will soon disappear and he will never have to face me again. I will soon disappear from his life. We were never meant to be together. It was all just a mistake.

He came and sat beside me. I was frozen from my feelings.

“I need to come with me.” He said to me.

“Why?” I asked without looking at him.

I was playing with my fingers. My heart was racing pretty high. If he could come a little bit closer to me, he could hear my heartbeats.

“We could go someplace alone and quiet and have some fun. I mean like a date maybe.” He seemed tense around me. I could tell that from his eyes.

"Sorry. I am busy tonight." I said to him. I couldn't look him into his eyes.

“Ohh. What about tomorrow then?” he was getting restless.

“Mike. I need to talk to you.” I sighed “ We are not gonna happen. You must reject me and find a better mate. We are never meant to be together and never will become one.”

I breathed. " If you don't reject me, then I will do the honors. I am planning to go from this city and never come back. I will never come back to a city which will be ruled by you.” I said to him.

He looked genuinely sad. He looked like he was about to cry.

“I won't accept your rejection. Never even think about that.” He shouted. “ I will give you time to think till farewell party this year after our finals are over. I will prove to you that my love will be sincere and not because of the stupid mating bond. “ he walked away without looking back. His eyes were darker from anger and sadness.

Days passed but she never directly talked with me. He flashed me a smile whenever I come in front of him. Things had been very different for me. Aaron knew he was my mate. But Aaron wants Mike to be a perfect man for me. Aaron never liked his shitty attitude. Aaron knew Mike was possessive with me. He thought of playing games with Mike and make him more jealous. Aaron followed me everywhere I went which made Mike nuts.

“Maria, we have our football match tomorrow. “ Aaron came running towards me in his football Jersey. He was panting, maybe because of all those practices for the final match tomorrow.

“Looks like you are doing great" I smiled at him.

“Yes. You need to be there at 6 pm. I already invited Nancy. So don't be late. I am going, the practice is still on." He looked away and ran towards the field.

Finally, the time had come for the football game. Nancy and I sat on the first row and cheered for the team.

Everyone looked excited as the game begins. The boys dressed in blue and white Jersey stood opposite to the other team dressed in red. Mike and Aaron looked fierce when they faced the other team. The team contained humans and werewolves. The werewolves made sure they do not put more strength with humans. Otherwise, it will be dangerous for them.

During the first half, both of the teams scored equally. The referee blew the whistle for a 15-minute break.

Aaron came towards us. Nancy gave him a drink and started flirting with him. She was like a high school girl in love. She wouldn't have cared whether he was a human or a werewolf because she was always in love with him. But that was entirely different from mine.

I was thirsty so I took a mouthful of orange juice. Before I was able to put the bottle down, Mike snatched the bottle from me and started drinking.

“I could taste your lips on the bottle my love.” He smirked at me which made me blush.

“I could have given you another one if you asked me.” I was furious.

He didn't open his mouth instead gave me a wink and walked away. Did I start to fall in love with him? His cool attitude sometimes made me melt. Especially his lips and his hand when they met with my body. I heard girls cheering for him which made me jealous.

Our college had won the match. The college decided to throw a party after the exams which would be after one week. It would be a grand party along with our farewell one. The day I need to answer Mike.

I knew he would never leave me. He would follow me everywhere. The bond is too strong for him. He gave me my personal space all these months. The only thing which made him angry was when I was with Aaron. Typical idiot.
