Chapter 16

“What's all the commotion happening here?” I asked Diana who was our class president.

“The party is today”. She was so excited.

I was confused. But I did found out about the details regarding the party.

Mike was throwing a party at his house. His dad has won the business man of the year award. Plus tomorrow is his mom's birthday. So double celebration and the party was going to last up to midnight. Everyone got the invitation a couple of days ago. A lot of guests will be attending the party. I was surprised to hear that he invited well actually Ash and Amanda his best buddies invited everyone in my class.

Well everyone except me.

“Did you actually forget about it? Let me guess he didn't invited you?” Diana asked.

“Yes I was invited, I ju..just forgot about it.” I faked a smile. I don't want to get embarrassed in front of her.

Well nobody gave a damn thing about me and I don't care about stupid parties. To think about it the only birthday celebration I attended was Nancy's. It was not even a grand one. I felt so invisible. But I still felt a little bit of pain in my heart. It felt like a was stabbed with a knife. It feels like everyone was avoiding me. I never wished to have anything related to Mike but still I was his classmate. He has been a stalker nowadays. Maybe planning another revenge or prank. It was a good thing I wasn't invited. I was uninvited in his birthday also.

I still felt his orbs burning my skin during the entire day. The truth was that I was afraid of him.

I could hear girls murmuring and giggling behind my bench. They were all talking about his birthday. They were talking about the costumes and the perfume they going to wear tomorrow. Even the studious kid near me seems so thrilled for tomorrow. During the evening I went straight home. I took my day off from the library.

“Honey, would you go and buy the groceries for tomorrow?. It seems like we had nothing left to eat for breakfast.” My mom asked me with a long list in her hands.

I rolled my eyes. My mom repeating it again. I always told her to inform me if there are nothing left to eat. I could have brought everything after my school. Now I have to go out at night.

I looked at the time. It was almost 7 pm.

“Ok.” I took the list from her.

I put on my yellow floral sleeveless dress that I bought during my 16th birthday. But it still looked new. It was on of my favourite dress. I loved the cute little sunflowers that decorated around the neck. It reached just above my knees. It fitted perfectly near my chest. Well it didn't during the first time I wore it. I put on my matching sandals. The night wasn't chilly so I skipped wearing a coat.

I decided to walk to the grocery store. But I was surprised to see a familiar face inside the store. He was wearing a black Jeans and a matching hoodie without sleeve. I saw him keenly looking at the comics.

I guess he saw me staring because on second he turned to look looking. I smiled at him. Aaron looked dashing in his outfit.

I missed how his eyes sparkled.

“Wow. Cute dress.” I love how he complemented my dress.

“Thank you. Well you look like a model in this outfit.”

“Well there is nothing special about my dress.”

“ But you look perfect in black.”

“Black is my favourite colour.” He flashed a smile at me.

“I guess you come here to buy groceries.”

“Yes. I got a huge list.” I rolled my eyes and showed him the tiny paper in my hands.

He chuckled.

“Let me help you. I was simply bored and went out to get a fresh air.”

“No please. I can handle it. You don't have to put yourself in trouble.”

“It is not a big deal. Come on. I will buy you popsicles.” He dragged me with him.

I went along with him.

I had so much fun near him. I checked the time. It was almost 8: 30.

“Well, I need to go. See you around. “ I waved him goodbye.

“Good night, Maria.” I watched him running away to the dark.

I turned around and only walked for a couple of seconds before I had been dragged by someone. His grip on my wrist was hard as an iron.

“What the hell? Let me go.” I screamed.

“Is that Aaron I saw you chatting with? You skipped the party so you could come here and chat with him.”

His similar husky voice sent shivers all over my body.

Mike.

What the hell was he doing here. I thought he had a party to attend and what the hell was he talking about. Oh god my life was hell around him.

“What are you doing here?” he was angry. His dark aura made me weak in my knees. His blue orbs running throughout my body.

“That's none of your business. Leave me alone. I want to go home.” I particularly begged with him.

I was disappointed in myself for begging to him.

“Why didn't you come to the party?”

Does he had memory of a goldfish.

Neither he nor his friends hadn't sent me an invitation.

“I wasn't invited you jerk.”

His eyes flickered. He let go of my hands and stood in front of me.

“What are you saying?. I told Amanda to invite you. She clearly told me she invited you.”

Well she tricked you and lied about me. I was confused why he let his friends invite everyone. Was he some kind of VIP or a king that everyone bows.

His confused facial features made me more confused.

“Then come with me to my house. I want to introduce you to everyone especially my family .” He took my hands.

Why was he introducing me to his family. Does he want to embarrass me for slapping him?.

Of course what else would he invite me.

“Mike, let go of me. I don't have time to play with you. I need to get home. I have self respect. I don’t want to go to an invited party. So please, LEAVE ME ALONE.”

I hurried home. Mike didn't follow me. I guess he respect my boundaries.

I cried to sleep that night. Joining here in this college was the biggest mistake I had done.
