Chapter 95: Chapter 95

I woke up disoriented. I quickly got out from my bed when I noticed the unfamiliar sight of the whole room. I suddenly tried to recall what happened until I remembered him carrying me last night.

Daevon brought me here?

I tried to calm myself down. This is a condo unit type with a simple yet elegant style. I heard some sounds coming from the other room and so I walked towards it. As I got closer and closer to the area, the voices become clearer.

“I thought you’re not coming back anymore,” a man’s voice said.

I never been nosy before but something tells me I need to listen to their conversation. I kept my distance, enough just so I can hear them. I heard some sizzling sound. Someone is cooking.

“I just want to show her where I had been for the past four years,” I heard Daevon responded.

So he didn’t come home before?

“How about that other girl? What was her name again? Ellaine? Yeah, that’s it,” the other man’s voice asked casually.

I bit my lower lip eavesdropping for their conversation. What would he say?

“What do you mean? She’s nothing to me, Manzato,” he said in a baritone voice.

Hearing what they were talking about, I couldn’t help but gasp loudly. They must have heard me from across the other room since they suddenly stopped.

My mind continued to wonder. So… there was nothing going on between them? Was Ellaine just fooling the whole time?

I step forward carefully and peeked through the room. Daevon was close to the stove cooking while a man was sitting on a highchair in the kitchen bar; he has quite a dark skin. They were both looking at me with expressions I can’t read on their faces.

I crunched my face at the two of them when suddenly, I felt pained radiating from stomach. I immediately saw Daevon move forward towards me and supported me.

“You should rest,” he said. “You drank too much last night,” he added with a worried look on his face.

I’m not like this when I drink too much even before so right now, I’m baffled why I suddenly felt a stabbing pain on my stomach. After a while, Daevon gently led me back to the bedroom and let me rest. I shrug off that weird feeling from earlier and just focused on him.

His eyes were so gentle while caressing my face. He leaned forward for a kiss and then broke apart for a second.

“I love you,” he said. All of his emotions poured through his words as I gasped.

My world stopped for a moment as he stared right through my eyes. Those gray orbs felt like they were sucking me in.

Did he really say those words?

My eyes started to water after a few seconds while blinking several times. I didn’t think he’d tell me like this.

“A-Are you for real or is this just a game?” I had a hard time saying those words because tears started to escape my eyes yet I managed to say it.

He smiled at me gently.

“I love you, Mrs. Castanio,” he repeated, whispering those same words onto my ear as tears now dripped down my cheeks.

“Why…” I mumbled. “Why just now?” I asked while hitting him weakly on his chest. “I’ve been waiting for you to say those words for all these time… so why just now?” I added.

He tried to catch my hand before caressing my face again.

“I’m sorry,” he mumbled to which I quickly distanced him away from me.

“How about Ellaine? What the fuck is your relationship with her? You two fucking kissed!" I spat angrily.

He immediately stiffen and pulled me in a tight hug. He buried his head onto my neck; making me feel his breath on my chest.

“I don’t have any relationship with her or anyone else. You’re my wife so why the hell would I find someone else over you?” he whispered under my ear.

“Liar, the two of you kissed,” I mumbled.

I cursed when I felt him kiss my neck. I pushed him off for a distance and glared at him.

In return, he looked at me, pouting before burying his head in me again.

“She kissed me but I didn’t kiss back,” he confessed.

I fell silent for a second, thinking about what happened. When that wretched woman’s face emerged in my head, I quickly gritted my teeth.

“Did you fuck her?”

He immediately broke from hugging me and stared right through my eyes.

“What the fuck are you asking?” he asked in an annoyed tone.

“She told me, she was pregnant with your baby,” I said, showing no sorts of emotion in my face.

His lips parted as he looks at me with disbelief. His mood then changed and looked at me coldly.

"When did she say it? Do you believe her?" he asked blankly.

Confusion was written on my face. Why is he asking that when he was on the phone at that time—wait… it hit me! She ended the call before he could say anything in return.

I averted my eyes and started biting my lower lip. I felt his hand touch my chin just so he turn it and look at me again. My eyes were starting to water again and so he let out a deep sigh and planted a soft kiss against my lips.

“You’re the one I love,” he said. “You’re the girl for me and the only one my body had always been waiting for, even after those four years,” he added. “Now calm yourself, honey. I’m yours from the start until today and the years coming.”

“Rest wife, I’ll come back later when the food is ready then we'll talk about everything after.” He pressed his lips against my forehead and slowly rose from his feet.

At least even for just a while, I was able to finally calm down. He finally said it.

He loves me.

He arranged the comforter around my body before walking off from my direction. After a while, we had food together.

I found out that the condo we’re staying at is actually from his friend Xenoah. It was true that he didn’t stay at our house since what happened to me and Ivann. He said he just wanted to take a breather at that time but then he found out that I left the Philippines and even thought that I eloped together with his cousin since we both disappeared at the same day.

“What? Andrei was there?” I asked with disbelief. He was Cassandra’s ex-husband.

I could see Xenoah smiling at the corner of my eye; looking like he is enjoying the fact that his friend hasn’t been caught. He wasn’t at Andrei’s wedding at that time because he was in abroad. I nodded. That explains why he’s not familiar; his face, name… it doesn’t ring a bell.

“Does he know about his son with Cassandra?” I asked.

They both just shrugged their shoulders and continued eating.

"Oh my gosh! Cassandra must know this shit!" I said, hysterically.

The two male in front of me laughed and so I glared at them. Xenoah shut his lips while Daevon tried to stop himself from smiling and only lowered his gaze.

“I think our friend kidnapped your friend,” he said and continued chewing his food.

My jaw dropped as I recalled what happened last night.

"How about Azaia? Who brought her home?" I asked worriedly.

Xenoah suddenly stopped eating. “She’s in my unit,” he simply said.

My forehead knotted as I threw him a dagger look. He stopped and gasped for a moment before putting his hands upward ; acting like he’s surrendering or something.

Friends of fuckers.

“What did you fucking do to her?” I coldly asked.

I can see Daevon smirking at the corner of my eyes.

Xenoah’s jaw dropped, immediately shaking his head. He put down his hand and averted his eyes. “I didn’t fuck her if that’s what you’re thinking. I just brought her in my condo unit ‘cause I couldn’t ask her where she’s living. She already fell asleep at that time and so I deposited her in my car,” he explained that made me heave a sigh of relief.

“You can visit her after. My unit is just beside this,” he said, shrugging his shoulders.

I heaved a sigh and massage my temples.

“I cooked her some food to eat if that’s what you’re worried about,” he added, answering one of my worries.

“I just left because I don't want her to feel embarrassed when she wakes up,” he added. “I left a note that says we're here and she could come if she's done.”
