Chapter 94: Chapter 94
After eating, my phone rang. My forehead creased as an unregistered number flashed through my screen. It’s not my thing to answer unknown calls but for some reason, my mind told me to accept it.
“Hello?” I responded.
Prepare the bar, bitch. We're on our way home.
My eyes balled out of surprised followed by gasping.
You sound like an idiot, Ayesha.
Cassandra said on the other line, to which I rolled my eyes; as if she can even see me doing it.
“Welcome back, Cassandra,” I said and ended the call. When I got better just like what Daevon said, I took a bath. I stayed for a few minutes feeling the water along my skin until I decided to fix myself and call Azaia.
I only heard the phone ringing three times when she answered it.
“She’s back. Let’s meet here at my house and go at the bar together,” I immediately said.
I only heard her groan followed by stomping her feet. A smile crept on my face.
Azaia is not fond of bars.
I'll be there in an hour. I’ll just something, immediately.
That’s what she said and ended the call. After putting down my phone on the bed side, I headed to my closet and chose a simple attire. I went for a black fitted dress and partnered it with black stilettos.
This is a good timing. I’ll be able to drink and forget a little.
After preparing what I’m going to wear later, I went downstairs and searched for my daughter. I couldn’t see them everywhere and so I decided to go to living room. As I spotted together, I felt warmth in my heart. I found her laughing with her dad while watching from the television. I can see how contented she was.
When Daevon felt my presence from their back, he leaned forward to his daughter and whispered something before the two of them looked at me.
“Mommy!” my daughter exclaimed and ran towards me. I held her in my arms and kissed her cheeks.
“Are you happy?” I asked, she then smiled brightly and hugged me.
“Thank you for fulfilling your promise, mommy,” she whispered.
I smiled at her and embraced her within my arms until my eyes landed towards Daevon, staring at the two of us.
“Do you have plans for today?” he asked. He creased his forehead at me, waiting for me to answer.
“My friend is coming home. We’re going to celebrate later,” I said.
“Can you… take care of her for the mean time?” I asked hesitantly.
I know we’re not good and how awkward things are for us. I even don’t know how our set up is but I know he won’t abandon our child.
He let out a deep sigh before nodding. I gave him a thin smile and mouthed thank you.
After an hour, Azaia came. Shock was written all over her face when her eyes landed towards my husband and daughter. She looked at me seriously, telling me to get upstairs and explain.
Just like that, I explained everything that happened Daevon and I while fixing myself on the mirror.
“Azaia, we’re going to a bar not on a mall,” I said when I noticed her get-up.
She's wearing a black crop top with long sleeves with a print that says ‘Fuck you’ on it. Her outside isn’t so bad—well apart from choosing pants.
She just shrugged and looked at me with This-is-what-I-want-to-wear look.
I rolled my eyes and just let her be. I started fixing my bag after dressing up and when we came down, I bid good bye to Daevon and my daughter before walking towards the door. He was even giving me that sharp look on his eyes but I shrugged it off.
“Did you feel that?” Azaia said when we were now at the car. She was sitting on the passenger’s seat as I started the engine. She chuckled and shook her head when I didn’t respond. “He looked like a tiger that’s ready to pounce at his prey,” she mumbled.
I creased my forehead not understanding what she’s talking about. I don’t even know who she’s talking about. I only shrugged it off and started to maneuver the car.
When we arrived at the bar, some of the familiar staff who recognized me smiled as they let us in. Just like before, we got a VIP room and immediately sat down when offered a seat.
“I really hate bars,” I heard Azaia mumbled as her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of the lights flickering and the sound booming.
“Enjoy, bitch. It's not that bad,” I said. She only shrugged her shoulders at me and get the drink I ordered earlier. “This is the only beautiful thing here,” she added while holding onto an alcohol.
My phone then vibrated that made me smile.
I'm here.
I clicked my tongue and showed my phone to Azaia. She automatically smiled and glanced at me.
“Greet her on the door, I’ll wait here,” she suggested. I only nodded and got up from my seat.
After a second, I already spotted Cassandra. I greeted her immediately and exchanged a little conversation before coming back together at our table.
We all started from a small conversation until our topic drifted. We started mentioning about our lives and… I also mentioned about Daevon and Daeshaia.
My shoulders quickly sunk when I remembered his face again. They secretly watched the expression on my face change as I only responded at them with a smile.
I guess the drinks helps us feel ourselves more.
I looked at Azaia. She seems lost and broken but she still managed to hide it from us.
After a while, we stopped acting depressed and swayed through the sound of the music. We were all having fun until we all spotted Cassandra’s ex-husband. Her first immediately turned pale as we worriedly backed her up. We tried to divert her attention and the good thing is, we succeeded.
We came back to our same room and started having a drinking session. We were all feeling tipsy but still hanging strong. Just like before, we asked Azaia to look for a driver.
While we were waiting, Cassandra and I reminisced about the pat. We talked about her future marriage with his obsessed fiancée. After a few minutes, Cassandra already followed Azaia and I was left alone in our table.
I closed my eyes for a second, feeling the alcohol slowly purging me in the inside.
I wish my life would start coming my way now. I’m tired of all these shit.
As I was busy lost in my thoughts, my eyes landed at the door when it opened; Daevon came inside the VIP room and headed straight towards me.
“W-What are you doing here? Where’s my daughter?” I asked, confusion was written all over my face. I sat down properly in front of him. Even if I’m drunk, I’m actually still lively.
He only looked at me straight in the eyes before tightening his jaw. He lifted me up in a bridal style to which I was baffled and shriek.
“You said you're going to celebrate, Ayesha. You didn’t tell me you’d be here, drinking.” He hissed as he started to walk.
My hands wrapped around his hand for support as I continued to stare him
“It’s automatic, asshole. What celebration were you expecting? Playing jackstone?” I sarcastically asked under my breath before burying my head onto his chest.
I can hear his heart beating.
Maybe because I was drunk, I had the confidence to talk back at him; maybe because I was drunk that I want his presence all to myself.
Slowly, with every step he did into taking me away from the bar, I felt my body exhausted.
Everything in my head went blank as I felt his lips touched my hair; kissing it gently .
“Damn, lady. You’re not even thinking if ever you’re already carrying our second child,” I heard him whisper before I drifted into oblivion.
