Chapter 89: Chapter 89

I stared blankly at my office the whole morning. It feels like I’ve been played all along.

He was not there that day.

Then if that was the case… what was that thing I encountered four years ago?

Did… Ellaine planned it all along?

I shook my head. I don’t want to think negative words about someone but there’s still a possibility.

Why would she do that?

I was out of my reverie when I heard a knock. The door then swung open gently and whom appeared in front of me was none other than Daevon.

I froze for a second when I saw him holding onto a bouquet of rose as he approached me.

He thinly smiled at me and put down the flowers onto my table.

“T-Thanks,” I uttered weakly while looking at it. I then turned to look at him.

“I change my mind,” he said in a low pitch voice while staring at me. I gulped, feeling as if something was stuck in my throat.

“What do you mean?” I asked. I almost thanked God for not letting me stutter.

He smirked at me and leaned his face forward.

“I won’t wait for you to decide any longer. Whether you like or not, you’ll be mine,” he said and grabbed my nape for a kiss.

I close my shut eyes and only felt myself responding to his lips. This is the first time he kissed me since we saw each other again.

Last night, he gave me time to decide since that was what I asked for. But I don’t want to decide just like that. I’m not a young lady anymore, I have a child already and it will affect her with whatever decision I do.

I want to make things clear first before we start over again. I want us to be completed for my daughter to be happy but I can’t stop fearing for a lot of possible reasons.

Does he still love me?

I also can’t help thinking that he’s only doing this so he can take revenge on me.

I want to run away from him pr escape but now that I’m thinking of it, I know it won’t solve my problem at all.

He broke our kiss and stared at me. He caressed my face and put some of my hair at the back of my ear.

He smiled at me thinly before he distanced himself. I, on the other hand averted my gaze and bit my lower lip.

You’re easily swayed, Ayesha. Shit!

I know I’m only lying to myself if I said I don’t have any feelings for him anymore. If you ask me since four years ago, he’s my one and only even until now.

“Dinner at my house later,” he informed me.

I looked at him for a second before lowering my gaze again.

“I need to go home early later,” I said.

Daeshaia’s sulking because I came home late yesterday. This is the second time she sulked since we arrived here at the Philippines. The first time was when Daevon forced his way on me at his office.

I shook my head just thinking about it. My own husband and daughter was the one responsible for dividing my whole presense.

“You said that you’re not together with my cousin,” he muttered which made me look at him.

“Why does it feel like there’s still another person more important to you?” he asked with a serious tone.

For that moment, I thought my blood escaped my body. I started stuttering before mouthing the words.

“W-We’re going to have a family dinner,” I said and lowered my gaze again.

He didn’t answer until a few seconds later, I heard him let out a deep sigh.

“I trust you, Ayesha. Don’t break my trust again,” he said.

He slowly turned away from me and started walking towards the door. When he left, a fake laugh erupted from my mouth while staring blankly at where I last spotted.

“Can we even fix our marriage even with it broken in some ways?” I whispered bitterly to myself.

Even I can’t trust you, Daevon. I’m too scared.

A month had passed while Daevon and I treated each other better. Just like before he acted clingy again and possessive enough that he stays by my side most of the time. It happened several times actually; with the investors being male, he would suddenly emerge out of nowhere.

“Down to earth, Ayesha you bitch,” Azaia said, waving her hands to catch my attention.

I glared at her but in turn she smiled.

“So is it a come back?” she asked while sitting on the visitor’s chair and drinking the coffee my secretary made.

I let out a deep sigh and started playing with the lead of my pen.

“Do you think I should give it a try?” I asked.

When I glanced at her, for a moment I noticed something. Is that a bruise?

“Aren’t you trying to work things out now? What do you call what you’re doing?” she asked, sarcastically.

Maybe it’s just coffee stain.
