Chapter 88: Chapter 88
When I woke up, I felt someone’s hand caressing mine. I slowly opened my eyes and saw him at the corner, looking at me with those soft gaping eyes. He was holding onto my hand which was resting on my stomach. My eyes roamed around to scan the place and noticed we were in our room. It’s a good thing that he untied me now.
A bitter smile crept into my face as my mind automatically replayed that last scene in here that crumbled my whole world.
“Why?” I asked, looking at him.
He slowly distanced himself as I felt him staring right through my closed eyes.
“Why are you doing this to me, Daevon?” I asked. “I know we don’t have any official break up but from the four years that came by… you should have known that we’re already over,” I bitterly said.
I didn’t hear him answer and so I opened my eyes slowly. I saw him looking at me with the same cold expression on his face.
“You left me for him,” he said as my forehead automatically knotted in confusion.
“Ivann?” I asked. He averted his eyes but I could see how he clenched his jaw and looked at me again.
“Is there anyone else?” he asked with a pained voice.
I looked at him with a stunned expression for a second. I can see his eyes longing for me yet was also filled with sadness.
Is this real?
“I-I am not with him,” I stuttered because I still can't believe on the emotions his flashing.
Is he pretending so he can hurt me again?
It was his turn to crease his forehead.
“You two aren’t together in America?” he asked to which made me look with a baffled expression.
“Why would I take him with me?” I asked back.
His lips parted for a second, staring at me; looking for a possible lie in my face but there was none. I saw his hand clench into a fist. He looked at me straight in the eye and opened his mouth again.
“Then why did you leave?” he asked. It was my turn to gasp and averted my gaze.
“How dare you ask that when you should know the answer!” I shouted. I gritted my teeth, anger engulfing my face. I can’t believe this! Is he pretending nothing happened?
“I wouldn’t have asked if I knew the answer, Ayesha,” he said, warning me. I bit my lip and looked at him once again.
He’s waiting for my answer.
My mouth started trembling and the way my eyes watered, I looked at him with pained eyes; I can tell how baffled he was.
“You fucked with another woman, what do you expect me to do? Stay with you?” I said in disbelief. Tears started streaming down my cheeks.
He immediately grabbed my face and looked at me straight in the eye.
I can see a mixture of coldness and confusion in his eyes.
“Say it again,” he said.
I rose from where I laid and started hitting him on his chest. With every pained moment, I punched him while sobbing.
“F…Fuck you,” I said. “I know that… you believe that something happened between me and Ivann b-but what gives you the right to do the same thing to me?” I blurted out all of the feelings I’ve buried for years. “Fuck…you. I hate you, asshole,” I added; my hits were now getting weaker and weaker.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” After a while, I heard him speak. He was stiff for a second and so I looked at him.
He seems puzzle the same way I’m confused and angered.
He slowly wrapped his hands around my body and pulled me for a hug. “You fucked her in this room—in our room,” I whispered, shutting my eyes.
“Who?” he immediately asked while caressing my hair.
“E… Ellaine,” I mumbled that made him stop. He distanced himself for a second and looked at me straight in the eye.
“When?” he asked, furrowing his brows.
“The next day after you saw me with Ivann.,” I said, biting my lip. Pain was all over my eyes as tears started streaming down again.
I could see his expression darkening.
“What did you see?” he asked with a serious tone.
I was baffled but I told him everything.
“I came here to talk to you that day. I entered the house, seeing it was open and upon entering our room… Ellaine was the one who opened the door and… s-she was naked under our comforter.” I averted my gaze. I couldn’t stop myself from sobbing.
“And where was I?” he said blankly.
“Showering,” I simply said that made him cursed.
After that, he embraced me into a tight hug.
“And then you left,” he stole the words out of my lips. I only nodded.
He started caressing my hair gently, sighing deeply to himself.
“Honey, I didn't come back here since the day I left you with Ivann. Today is the first after four years,” he said to which froze me in place.
“Honey, I didn't come back here since the day I left you with Ivann. Today is the first after four years.”
“Honey, I didn't come back here since the day I left you with Ivann. Today is the first after four years.”
“Honey, I didn't come back here since the day I left you with Ivann. Today is the first after four years.”
My mind went blank for a second, thinking to myself… then he wasn’t here?
“Fuck! I’ll talk to her tomorrow. Believe me, it’s been years before I came back here,” he said, begging me to look at him.
A bitter smile crept into my lips.
When I asked you to believe me, where were you?
“W…Who’s that honey you were talking on the phone?” He tried changing the topic. I gulped for a second with my heart racing from fear.
I don’t think this is the yet to tell him about our daughter. I don’t know his motives and I’m scare that he’ll ruin me again, just like before.
I felt him sigh and embraced me tighter in his arms.
“Let’s fix this,” he said. “Let’s fix our marriage, Ayesha,” he whispered that made my world stop for a moment. He slowly broke from our hug and stared at me with sadness in his eyes.
“Please...be mine again,” he pleaded as he caressed my cheek.
