Chapter 95: Chapter 95
After checking herself for a while, Flora walked out of the office satisfied. As she walked downstairs, she pondered. Kevin had been silent for so long since the meeting adjourned. Did he not care about her anymore? If that were the case, it would be great!
From the elevator to the lobby on the first floor, Flora felt countless pairs of curious eyes staring at her, followed by whispers and discussions in small groups. She wondered if they were commenting on her exaggerated outfit or discussing her relationship with Kevin. In any case, she felt extremely uncomfortable at the moment!
Oh, when will this kind of day end? After Auntie Grace caused such a scene, she probably had to go home early and wouldn't even earn money for formula.
After waiting in the lobby for about ten minutes, the elevator doors suddenly opened. The enigmatic Kevin walked towards the main entrance accompanied by a group of high-level executives. Flora stared at Kevin, who remained focused and did not divert his gaze. She opened her mouth to shout to stop him, but no words came out.
With his extraordinary senses, Kevin suddenly turned back as he walked out and commanded, "Come over!"
Flora hurriedly stood up from the couch. Unaccustomed to the high heels, she almost stumbled due to their ten-centimeter height. After steadying herself as much as possible, she walked towards Kevin. Under his sunglasses, she couldn't see his expression at all!
The group of high-level executives followed behind Kevin, casting skeptical glances at Flora, but they dared to only glance.
Kevin put his arm around Flora's shoulder and walked towards the main entrance in long strides, allowing her to get into the car that was already prepared at the hotel entrance. He went around to the driver's seat on the other side and fastened his seatbelt.
"Well, am I not driving today?" Flora forced a laugh at him, wishing she could immediately take off the sunglasses from his face to see his expression clearly and get a glimpse of his thoughts!
Kevin looked her up and down and chuckled softly, "Can you drive like this?" He had just seen her struggling to walk properly, not to mention the beautiful evening gown she was wearing. He couldn't bear to let such a beautiful lady drive!
Flora glanced at herself and continued to smile uncomfortably, "Then it'll be up to Mr. Kevin!" Of course, she could drive, but it was just not as convenient. Since he was so kind, why not take advantage of it?
She secretly glanced at him in his deep blue suit again, and once again, Flora was enchanted by his handsomeness. But what made her helpless was that even though she was looking at Kevin, screaming in her heart about his handsomeness, her thoughts were still on Maxwell!
Why was it like this? Could it be because Maxwell had left such a deep impression on her that she couldn't forget him? The past abuses, and the new addition in her belly, were all related to Maxwell!
Flora leaned cautiously against the back of the seat, feeling a bit restless. The car didn't start moving. Suddenly, Flora's body leaned over, and she stumbled towards him but didn't fall into his embrace.
Kevin removed his sunglasses and stared at her intently, his expression a mix of amusement and seriousness, as he spoke, "Miss Flora, aren't you planning to explain the events of this morning to me?"
"Explain...?" Flora stared at the handsome face so close to her, murmuring with wide eyes. Yes, she still owed him an apology, an explanation. It wasn't that she didn't want to give it, but she simply didn't know how to start and say it to him!
"Of course, you embarrassed me in front of so many people, shouldn't you give me an explanation?" Kevin let go of her.
Flora quickly straightened up. Nodding awkwardly, she said, "Yes, I should. I'm really sorry, it's just that my mom... "
Seeing her struggling to speak, Kevin leaned back against the seat just like her, gazing at her, and asked, "Who exactly is the male protagonist in your mom's story?" He was very curious about who he had become a scapegoat for. Hopefully, it wasn't him!
"Who... betrayed you in the end?" There was a slight tinge of disappointment in Kevin's heart. For some reason, this question had taken root in his mind. Was it because of Flora, or because of that man?
Flora's face instantly heated up and turned red. Kevin's question made her feel so ashamed that she couldn't face anyone. Mist filled her watery eyes in an instant. Looking at him, she pleaded softly, "Mr. Kevin, can you please not ask anymore? I know this has had a big impact on you, and I'm truly sorry..."
Kevin was taken aback. He didn't expect her emotions to change so quickly, and at that moment, he felt somewhat bewildered. He quickly said, "Alright, I won't ask anymore. But you don't need to apologize to me because it's you who has been affected."
Flora opened her teary eyes widely, not understanding what he was saying.
Kevin laughed, "In this game of sex, it's always the women who lose out. So I advise you to be more restrained in the future, and don't foolishly give yourself to someone like that."
"A game of sex...?" Flora's scalp tingled and she whispered, "You're exaggerating a bit. I just... "
She just accidentally got involved with someone she shouldn't have. Does that mean he thinks she is promiscuous because of this? Well... After all, it's a fact that she was forced to have sex with that man, so she can't blame others for thinking that way!
Flora took a deep breath, feeling helpless. Kevin didn't say anything more, started the engine, and drove the car out of the hotel gate, sliding into the lane.
The car drove for more than thirty minutes and slowly stopped at the entrance of the Alma Hotel. After handing the car over to the doorman, Kevin stepped out and immediately noticed that Flora was wearing a pair of pink-colored big-framed sunglasses.
Kevin's face darkened and he grumbled, "Do you think you're here for a sunglasses convention?"
"But... you're wearing them too," Flora tilted her head, cautiously looking at him, and chuckled nervously, "We're a pair, so we should wear them together to match, right?"
Kevin looked at her strange appearance, laughed softly, and turned to walk into the hotel. Flora hurriedly followed, her eyes rolling under the sunglasses as she glanced at the people around her. She had a comical look of wanting to escape as soon as she realized something was wrong.
