Chapter 94: Chapter 94

"It wasn't him! It really wasn't," Flora repeated, her headache intensifying as she pleaded, "Mom, please just leave. What you're doing will kill me." After today, she was bound to become a newsworthy figure, no doubt about it!

"It really wasn't him?" Auntie Grace looked at Chloe and then at Flora. Only after both of them vigorously nodded did she reluctantly believe. She turned to Kevin once again, speaking coldly, "Kevin, since Flora herself says it has nothing to do with you, I'll let you off for now. If I find out it's related to you, I won't spare you! Well, let's continue the meeting, shall we? Sorry for the interruption."

With that, she turned and hurried towards the door, escaping. At the exit, she turned to Chloe, glaring and asking, "What exactly happened? Didn't you mention Kevin?"

"Mom, which ear did you hear me say Kevin? Didn't I tell you that Kevin has been in W City for less than a month? You're going to kill Flora!" Chloe whispered in exasperation.

"Oh my God! Why didn't you clarify earlier?" Auntie Grace covered her mouth and nervously glanced back at the meeting room. Just now... that man named Kevin, she didn't anger him to death, did she? He wouldn't do anything to Flora, would he?

Chloe exclaimed, "I tried to pull you out earlier, but you didn't listen!"

"I didn't expect this," Auntie Grace said, then smirked and laughed, "But I felt so satisfied when I scolded him, it was like scolding your elusive father." Those lines and actions, she had practiced them at home several times before coming here, just to make sure they were perfect!

"You're pleased, what's unfortunate is Flora!" Chloe dragged her mother towards the elevator, wishing she could immediately send this woman back home and prevent her from causing trouble here!

Upon hearing her words, Auntie Grace became nervous again and worriedly asked, "Flora won't be in trouble, right? Oh, I hope I didn't harm her for real. Should I go back and plead with Kevin again?"

"Oh, no! I beg you, just go back home and stay there. As for Flora, let her fend for herself," Chloe rolled her eyes in exasperation. Go back again? Wasn't the mess big enough already?

She believed that with Kevin's special attitude towards Flora, there shouldn't be any problems. If there were any, then it would just be her misfortune, and she would have to pack her things and go home!

After Auntie Grace left, the meeting continued as usual, as if nothing had happened. Even if something did happen, Kevin was the boss, and they didn't dare to gossip freely. They had to suppress their astonishment and continue the meeting obediently.

Trembling and fearful, they endured until the end of the meeting. Flora quickly escaped back to the guest room department, where she saw Chloe and Linda looking at her with sympathy. She collapsed onto the couch, with a face full of tears she couldn't shed!

"Flora, it's not bad to become a newsworthy figure. Don't be sad," Linda stepped forward and patted her shoulder, trying to comfort her. "Many people want to become one but can't."

Flora looked up with worry, staring at Linda, and asked, "You think, after being publicly insulted in front of all the top management, how will Kevin deal with me?"

"I didn't see any sign of anger on Kevin's face, so he probably won't mind," Linda reminisced about Kevin's expression at that time. He didn't seem to get angry but instead kept looking at Flora with a playful gaze.

"Really?" Flora still had a worried look on her face. She knew very well that Kevin was just like Maxwell - a man who was hard to read. He didn't seem angry, but deep down, he could be exploding with anger!

"Really! Aren't you still going to the banquet? Aren't you going to get ready?" Linda reminded her.

With this reminder, Flora suddenly remembered that she was supposed to attend the banquet that evening. With such a big incident happening, would Kevin still want her to go? It would be best if he didn't! She silently prayed in her heart.

Seeing her dazed, Linda chuckled and handed her the gown, urging her, "Hurry up and put on the gown, let us see. I've never worn such a high-end dress in my life."

Flora looked at the well-tailored, light blue gown and wondered whose taste was so exquisite. She thought twice about it - no one had come to measure her size in the past few days, but the dress fit perfectly.

This light blue off-the-shoulder gown came as a complete set, including shoes and accessories. Flora checked the time and realized she still had half an hour left before the time Kevin had given. So she walked into the dressing room with the gown to change.

Emerging from the dressing room, Linda exclaimed softly, "You look so beautiful! Who chose this dress? They have such amazing taste!" She finished her statement and circled Flora, clearly envious, making Flora feel uncomfortable all over.

"Pregnant women should try to avoid wearing high heels, so be careful," Chloe kindly reminded her, pulling her to sit on the couch and saying, "Let me do your makeup, you can't just go like this, right?"

Flora obediently sat on the couch, tilting her little face upwards and allowing Chloe to do her makeup. After thinking for a moment, she suddenly said, "By the way, Chloe, can I borrow your sunglasses for the night? I don't want anyone to recognize me. If people see me with Kevin, they will suspect that we have something going on." In reality, she was just afraid of running into Maxwell or Joshua!

"Sure," Chloe casually replied.

Soon, a beautiful evening makeup look was created by Chloe. Flora examined herself in the mirror and put on the sunglasses. She tilted her head in all directions for a while. Hmm, it was not bad. With a few modifications, she looked like a completely different person. It would be difficult for anyone to recognize her true identity.

The woman in the mirror with her hair up and dressed in a low-cut evening gown looked beautiful and elegant. It was a far cry from the usual Flora. With this appearance, even if someone familiar saw her, it would not be so easy to recognize her, right?
