Chapter 88: Chapter 88
Maxwell's breath floated into her senses from behind, and his arms, like steel hoops, tightly wrapped around her waist. He breathed anger and exclaimed, "Miss Flora, do you think you can outrun me?"
Though he was only slightly out of breath, Flora felt like she was suffocating. She hung limply on him, gasping for air and her heart pounding from exertion. She didn't even have the strength to scold or struggle against him!
Maxwell forcefully turned her body around and lowered his head, imprinting his lips on hers, kindly giving her a deep breath.
Flora stared at his suddenly enlarged handsome face, feeling both anxious and angry. With a bit of regained strength, she pushed and hit his chest, gasping, "Let... me go!"
"Don't you like running? Do you want to keep running?" Maxwell sneered at her coldly. "Every time you see me, you act like a mouse seeing a cat. Aren't you tired?"
"I'm exhausted, but anything is better than seeing you! You bastard! Get away from me!" Flora shouted at him. It was this man who had put her in such a situation, forcing her to have an abortion!
Maxwell's face instantly darkened, and he stared at her displeased. "Do you think you've been living a too comfortable life of freedom?"
"Bastard! You're a bastard! Why did it have to be you? Why?!" Flora burst into loud sobs, the tears of injustice flowing like a tidal wave. Other pregnant women were happily together with their lovers, only she... she was carrying the child of her enemy. She felt nothing but hatred towards the biological father of her child, an endless hatred!
Her fists weakly pounded against his body, her curses and cries intertwining, incomprehensible but still conveying her pain.
Maxwell watched her tears fall down her cheeks, heard her incoherent insults, and felt an inexplicable pain in his heart. Allowing her to pound on him, to release her emotions, the gloom on his face disappeared in shame, replaced by a strangely tender expression called "heartache".
Was he feeling sorry for her? Since when did this strange emotion arise? It was ridiculous!
He tightened his grip around her waist, and Flora's face nestled into his chest, her tears continuously wetting his shirt, creating a large damp patch.
Maxwell's unique scent soaked into her senses more clearly, and Flora calmed down in embarrassment, her mind beginning to clear. When she realized what she was doing at the moment, goosebumps rose all over her body. Oh my god! She was crying in his embrace!
The crying continued, but it was no longer a cry of sadness but rather a cry to stabilize her mood. Flora's mind was rapidly working, trying to figure out how to exit, how to free herself.
"Why are you here?" Maxwell's voice rang gently in her ears, filled with a hint of concern.
"I...," Flora faltered. She couldn't tell him that she had come to kill his child, but how could she explain it? After her mind raced for a moment, she opened her mouth and said, "I came with a friend."
After speaking, she pulled away from his embrace, wiped the tears from her face, glanced around, and pointed towards the entrance of the hospital, saying, "Big Young Master, Miss Chiyoko is watching you."
Maxwell turned around, but he didn't see Chiyoko. By the time he turned back, Flora was no longer in sight. A mocking smile appeared on his cold face as he stared at the disappearing figure, swiftly blending into the crowd. He didn't bother to chase after her anymore because he felt there was no need to. Let Flora enjoy a few days of happiness!
Feeling abandoned inside the hospital, Chiyoko walked despondently towards the entrance. She felt both angry and aggrieved that Maxwell had once again abandoned her and chased after another woman, and this time it hurt more because of Flora White!
Although she was not entirely clear about the relationship between Flora and Maxwell, she had learned some things from Mrs. Smith's mouth and had personally witnessed Maxwell desperately searching for Flora. Despite his continually stating that he wanted to bring her back only to seek revenge, anyone could see that it wasn't that simple!
Originally, it was just a simple guess, but the moment she stepped out of the hospital, she was dumbfounded! In the front left of the hospital, Maxwell tightly held Flora and kissed her passionately, as if there were no one else around!
Had their feelings become so deep? Tears streamed down Chiyoko's face. She had initially wanted to rush over and give Flora a hard slap, but she held back because she didn't want Maxwell to see her as a jealous, petty woman!
With a turn of her shoe, Chiyoko ran in the opposite direction, tears falling as the wind blew. She felt more heartbroken and miserable than Flora...
When she reached the other side of the road, a group of unfamiliar men suddenly appeared, blocking her path. Chiyoko was stunned, staring at these inexplicable people, momentarily at a loss for words.
One of the men bowed respectfully and spoke, "Miss Chiyoko, Mr. Philip requests your presence at the Modern Hotel."
"What is it?" Chiyoko asked irritably. Hearing the familiar names of Philip and the Modern Hotel, she felt slightly relieved. So, it was someone from the Yota Gang! Someone she hadn't been in contact with for a year had miraculously appeared again!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Philip didn't specify," the man apologized. "Mr. Philip only said that he must speak to Miss Chiyoko about an important matter."
"I have nothing to discuss with him," Chiyoko said coldly, trying to continue walking past them.
The man became anxious and once again stepped in front of her, hesitantly saying, "Miss Chiyoko, please cooperate. Otherwise, we won't be able to explain to Mr. Philip. Please."
"Go away!" Chiyoko shouted angrily.
