Chapter 81: Chapter 81
"Write it down on this piece of paper," the officer pushed a memo paper in front of her.
Flora obediently wrote down the name 'Irma Brown'.
"Check it online," Frank Garcia ordered flatly, not understanding why he had to deal with this trivial matter. Perhaps Flora's personality reminded him of someone, with the same playful and cute demeanor.
As soon as she heard the word 'check', Flora felt panicked. 'Irma Brown' was a name Chloe made up on the spot to anger Miss Alma. There was no way to verify it online. But if she changed her mind and said that she's not called Irma Brown, wouldn't that be a bit misleading?
"Take out your ID card," the officer stared at Flora and ordered.
"I forgot to bring it," Flora answered cautiously.
"Recite your ID card number," the officer reluctantly changed his tone because of Frank Garcia's presence.
"I can't remember," Flora's voice was as small as a mosquito's, instinctively grabbing her head, looking like she was planning to escape like a funny character. Because she couldn't recall any number to recite to him! Uh... what should she do? Who can save her?
The officer gritted his teeth and began typing on the computer, glancing up at Flora after two minutes, then looking at the computer screen, seemingly comparing something. Then he turned to Frank Garcia and said, "Officer Frank, we found Irma Brown's ID card. Do you need it transferred to you?"
"Okay," Frank Garcia responded flatly.
"Huh?" Flora exclaimed in surprise, staring at him confusedly. What did he just say? Has he already retrieved her ID card? The name she made up, even if there is someone with the same name, wouldn't the photo be different?
Curiosity prompted Flora to lean forward and look at the information displayed on the computer screen. Sure enough, the name, birthday, and photos were all hers. Could Chloe have helped her fake it to such an extent? She even managed to manipulate the public security system!
"Sit back down!" the police officer reprimanded in a low voice.
Flora had no choice but to obediently return to her original position, continuing her unfinished astonishment.
Just then, a glamorous woman burst into the room. When Flora saw her, she wailed in distress as if seeing a loved one, "Chloe, please help me, I really don't know anything!"
"I can't help you," Chloe replied with a helpless shrug. She then asked in confusion, "What happened? Weren't you supposed to deliver the documents? How did you end up in the police station?"
"How would I know!" Flora acted more convincingly than an actress, but in her heart, she still wondered about the identity card situation.
"You can go now." Unexpectedly, the handsome guy beside her said these words, much to Flora's delight.
Flora felt ecstatic and stared at Frank Garcia's handsome face, doubting her luck could be this good.
"You can go now, can't you hear?" Chloe said while pulling Flora away from her seat, as if afraid that if they were too slow, Frank Garcia would change his mind and not let them go.
While Flora, who was still curious about her identity card, struggled between Chloe and the police officer, she pointed at the computer and stammered, "That...identity card..."
"Oh...forget about the identity card, just go!" Chloe impatiently urged, forcefully pulling her out. She pushed her into the Malu sedan that was supposed to be returned to Mark, and then got into the driver's seat on the other side. She quickly drove out of the parking lot.
Flora eagerly turned to Chloe and curiously asked, "When did you implant Irma Brown's fake information into the public security system? Where did you get this powerful support? Why didn't I know about it?"
"If I have this ability, so I don't have to serve rich people at Moonlight Hotel every day!" Chloe retorted irritably, rolling her eyes.
"But there really is Irma Brown's fake information in there!"
"There are many people with the same name and surname, don't take it so seriously, dear." Chloe glanced at her with a serious expression and lightly chuckled.
"No, it's not like that, the photos and the birthday are mine."
Chloe remained unconvinced and lightly dismissed her, "That's because you were too nervous just now and had hallucinations, understand?"
"Oh..." Flora muttered gloomily. Maybe that's it. Besides this explanation, she couldn't find any other reasons! What she found strange now was how easily the handsome police officer let her go, and his expression when looking at her was a bit peculiar!
There are truly bizarre things happening in this world, and she seems to encounter all of them.
Chloe glanced at her through the rearview mirror and asked, "You can start telling me now, what happened? Why were you suddenly taken to the police station? Weren't you with Mr. Kevin?"
Just mentioning Kevin made Flora seethe with anger. This whole day was all because of that man! Now he's enjoying himself at the hotel while she barely escaped with her life and ended up in the police station, looking like a mess.
Seeing Chloe waiting for her answer, Flora evaded the crucial part and said lightly, "I accidentally ran into some assassins while delivering the documents. The police mistakenly thought I was involved with them, so I ended up there!"
It's not that she liked hiding the truth from Chloe, but her story with Maxwell was too complicated, and she didn't know where to start with her. Even if she had to explain, it couldn't be done in just a few sentences, so she decided not to say anything.
