Chapter 67: Chapter 67
"It's getting late, let's hurry up and go upstairs," Mark interjected before Chloe could speak. He couldn't guarantee that Chloe would cover for him. He knew too well about her personality, always fearing that everything would fall apart.
His remark made Alma even more suspicious, but she didn't want to continue questioning, so she followed behind Mark towards the elevator.
"I suddenly feel sorry for Miss Alma," Flora muttered softly as she watched Alma's figure.
Linda glanced at her and said, "She's not worthy of sympathy. I feel more sorry for our Chloe!"
"Thanks for your sympathy," Chloe clenched her teeth and muttered these words, watching Mark and Alma get further and further away. When she looked back at the car, the bright red color suddenly seemed extra glaring, stabbing her heart painfully!
Back in the guest room department, Linda immediately shouted to Chloe to find out Kevin Davis' room number. She didn't necessarily need to get him but just seeing him would be satisfying enough for her, as she had a fascination for handsome men.
Chloe picked up the phone at the front desk and laughed lightly before hanging up.
"Room 2309, Linda. I leave this handsome man in your capable hands. Just be careful not to go too overboard."
"Okay, I'll bring him a cup of coffee now," Linda replied, but her actions and thoughts were far from what she said.
Chloe rolled her eyes in annoyance and pulled her back, saying, "It's too early in the morning to make him coffee, are you crazy?"
"Then... what should I bring him?" Linda chuckled.
Chloe was about to say something when the phone on the table suddenly rang, startling Flora who was daydreaming next to it. While Linda was thinking about how to get noticed by Kevin, Flora was exactly the opposite, trying to figure out how to avoid seeing him again! That man seemed terrifying, and she needed to keep her distance!
"Hello, Guest Room Department," Chloe answered the internal line phone politely. After listening for a while, she hung up and tapped her slender fingers on the receiver. Looking at Linda who was lost in thought, she said, "Sweetie, you don't have to worry anymore."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Linda paused, retreating into the room, confused.
Chloe smiled. "He specifically requested Irma Brown to personally serve him." Then she turned to a shocked Flora and said, "Mr. Kevin has asked for you to bring a cup of coffee to his room. Hurry up." She thought to herself, there sure are people who drink coffee in the morning!
"Why me?" Flora anxiously murmured. "No, I don't want to go!"
"I want to go, but he doesn't want me. Oh, no..." Linda sighed and obediently went about her own business.
"He specifically asked for you, can you refuse? Go quickly!" Chloe urged. "Although he's not the CEO, he's still an influential figure within the company. Just be careful not to offend him."
"I... I'll do my best!" Flora wailed.
Oh my god! That man is doing this on purpose. What should she do? She couldn't even figure out if he was Maxwell or Oliver. If he was, then she was in big trouble!
Carrying the freshly brewed coffee, Flora hesitated and loitered at the elevator, lost in her thoughts until the coffee went cold. Finally, she mustered up the courage, shouted a word of encouragement to herself, and rushed into the elevator.
This high-speed elevator is too fast! She hated the hotel's elevators for the first time! She arrived at the door of room 2309. This room number felt familiar. Right, the last time Maxwell asked her to deliver the necklace, it was also room 2309. How coincidental!
Pausing at the door, Flora raised her hand and knocked on the door of the suite.
A familiar yet unfamiliar, deep, and sexy male voice came from inside, saying, "Come in."
Flora pushed the door open and timidly stuck her head inside, glancing around until her gaze fell on that familiar figure. At that moment, he was sitting on the sofa, earnestly working on his laptop.
Flora tiptoed inside, planning to quietly place the coffee down and escape without disturbing him. She walked up to the glass table and placed the coffee next to Kevin, intentionally clearing her throat and saying, "Sir, here's the coffee you asked for."
Kevin Davis, who hadn't paid much attention, looked up at the sound of that high-pitched voice. When he saw that it was Flora, a dreamy smile appeared on his face, and he pointed to the opposite sofa, saying, "Miss Irma, please have a seat."
Flora was stunned by the suddenly enchanting smile he displayed. Oliver Smith! He was just like Oliver! Only Oliver could give such a charming smile to others!
"Miss Irma?" Kevin called again, gazing at her with a mischievous smile. "It seems I have to call you Flora White for you to react, right?"
"Huh?!" Flora was shocked, staring at him in horror and stammering, "How... How do you know my real name?"
He knew her name was Flora White! It's over!
"Miss Alma told me," Kevin smiled.
Flora let out a sigh of relief.
"Miss Flora, do you have to be so nervous?" Kevin raised his hand and wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead with his fingertip, teasingly saying, "I'm Kevin, not a man-eating tiger!"
"You're scarier than a man-eating tiger!" Flora unconsciously muttered aloud, only realizing it after she finished speaking. She looked at him again, bewildered by his expression. He was acting so strangely! She... wanted to escape!
"Mr. Kevin, your coffee has arrived, I'll go back to work now."
She turned around and lifted her leg to escape towards the door. But just as she took a few steps, her arm was suddenly grabbed, and her body was forced to turn around once again, facing him.
"I told you, I'm not a tiger, you don't have to be so afraid of me!" Kevin chuckled and looked at her, asking, "But I'm curious, Miss Flora, why are you so scared of me?"
Flora hesitated, raising her hands, and forced a laugh, "Oh, it's nothing, I just think you look a bit like an enemy of mine. Sorry, I shouldn't have thought that way."
Kevin laughed, leaning in and staring at her closely, his breath brushing against her face, "Is that so? Do I resemble him?"
