Chapter 66: Chapter 66

"Really? That's great," Mrs. Smith exclaimed with delight. "Please come by often when you have the time. And, when will you bring Kevin along? I haven't seen him yet."

"Let him finish his busy period first. You will get the chance to meet him," Mrs. Davis said with a smile. She glanced at Maxwell, lowered her head, and took a sip of her coffee. A strange smile appeared at the corner of her mouth, but no one noticed it!

After taking a sip of her coffee, as if suddenly remembering something, she looked up at Mrs. Smith and said, "Oh, by the way, when is Oliver coming back? Don't forget to let me know when he does, I also want to see him." She chuckled apologetically and continued, "Look at me, I have a special affection for these two older ones. But as for Richard and Robin, I haven't seen them much when they were young, so the bond isn't as deep."

"People are like that, it's natural to have stronger feelings for those we spend more time with," Mrs. Smith didn't find anything strange and thought for a moment before saying, "Smith Family Group has faced some issues recently, and both Maxwell and Oliver have been busy trying to salvage the situation. Oliver is expected to return next month, but we're not sure if you will still be in America by then."

Without much deliberation, Mrs. Davis spoke up, "Well, I'll be here for a month."

"That's good. I'll let you know then," Mrs. Smith promised.

After Maxwell went upstairs, the two continued chatting about the past and their children until late at night. Mrs. Davis left with a satisfied smile.

As she left, the smile on her face still seemed unsettling, but Mrs. Smith attributed it to the coldness often seen in wealthy ladies and didn't pay too much attention to it.

Early in the morning, Flora was awakened by a scream coming from the courtyard. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she rushed out to see what was happening. As she stepped out of the yard, her attention was immediately caught by a brand new fiery red Mazda 6, and the scream had come from Linda!

"Oh my God, how did this happen so quickly? Chloe just asked for it yesterday, and today it's here!" Linda exclaimed with excitement, as she had overheard the news while eavesdropping at the office door the day before.

"That's the power of love, you know?" Chloe said without looking up, as she was busy inspecting the car.

"A fiery red sports car, so cool...," Flora also exclaimed in amazement and envy, leaning against the car with her messy hair, gently touching the still-pungent smell of paint on the license plate.

"I want one too... I want a man as fast as this, and a car as handsome as this..." Linda fervently prayed with her hands pressed together towards the sky.

"Then find a man who can buy these things for you," Chloe sneered at her.

On the surface, she appeared calm, but deep down she was in agony. Mark Johnson! He had gone to great lengths to please her, getting things done that seemed impossible to accomplish in a single day. Was his love for her so deep?

Unfortunately, fate had played a cruel trick on her, causing her to lose him. What was the point of having all these things without him by her side?

"At least we don't have to squeeze into crowded buses anymore," Flora exclaimed happily.

Seeing her in her sleepwear, with her hair in a mess, Chloe shouted, "Flora, go back inside and wash your face and brush your teeth. Don't blame me if I don't wait for you!"

"Oh, I'm going right away!" Flora laughed and jumped up from the ground, heading back inside. As she regained her senses from staring at the car, she suddenly remembered everything that had happened in the hotel yesterday – Kevin Davis! That mysterious man!

As such, she turned around, lifted her head, and said, "Chloe, I want to quit, I don't want to work at the hotel anymore."

She couldn't let Kevin see her again. Despite his denial of being Maxwell Smith or Oliver Smith, she just couldn't believe that he was just Kevin Davis! She couldn't fathom the idea of two people looking so alike in the world!

Upon hearing her resignation, Chloe's face immediately darkened, and she threatened, "Dare you?! I will ruin you! Do you think our hotel is a place for fooling around? You want to work, you work; you don't want to work, you run away?" She didn't want to be dragged down because of her!

"I'm scared to see that Kevin..." Flora truthfully admitted in a small voice.

Linda, feeling irritated, quickly responded, "I've been waiting and hoping to see him again, and you don't want to see him?"

"If he said it was a case of mistaken identity, what are you afraid of? Don't worry, if anything happens, I'll take care of you," Chloe boasted, patting her chest and making a grand promise.

Flora forced a bitter smile; if something happened, would Chloe have to be able to back up her words?

The three of them sat in the sports car, playing and laughing as they arrived at the hotel. As the car stopped in the parking lot, it caught the attention of Alma Brown, who happened to be getting out of her car. Her facial expression froze for a moment, but she managed to force a smile, feigning calmness, and said, "Chloe, is this your new car? It's so beautiful." As her eyes fell on the outstanding license plate, her mind went blank.

Chloe didn't even spare a glance at Mark beside her, and smiled, "A friend gave it to me."

"Oh, what kind of generous friend," Alma said, almost on the verge of tears. Being as sensitive as she was, the first thought that came to her mind was that Mark had given it to Chloe. That dazzling red...
