Chapter 68: Chapter 68

"Just a little bit..." Flora's facial muscles were so tense it felt like they had turned into dead flesh.

Oh my god! When will this strange man stop? Why does he keep asking questions that make her heart race?

"Maxwell Smith, Oliver Smith..." Kevin lightly parted his lips and softly uttered those two names. He looked at Flora's shocked expression and asked, "Are you referring to these two brothers?"

"How... how do you know them?" Flora opened her mouth, stuttering, but Kevin remained silent, as if he had no intention of answering her.

Flora finally broke down and shouted in frustration, "I'm going crazy! You and these weird people are driving me insane! Can someone please explain what is going on?"

"Maxwell Smith! Oliver Smith!" Kevin looked at her expression, feeling somewhat remorseful but also cold. Seeing her on the verge of a breakdown, he sneered, "Miss Flora, just like everyone else in the world, you're beyond helplessly foolish!"

Flora forced herself to calm down, clutching her long hair in her hands. After hearing his words, she raised her head and stared at him, asking, "What do you mean?"

Why couldn't she understand what he was saying? Was her hearing faulty? Or was her comprehension ability lacking? Or perhaps there was a generation gap between her and him?

"Don't tell me you're one of them." Flora stared at him with horror, unconsciously taking a step back. If he was, she would rather jump off a building now than be captured and tortured at the Smith Family mansion!

Kevin shook his head and scoffed, "Don't worry, I'm not Maxwell or Oliver, so I'm not your enemy! But I'm really interested in your feelings towards the brothers of the Smith Family."

"Fe... feelings..." Flora was on the verge of tears.

She only had hatred towards the brothers of the Smith Family. Where did feelings come in?

"I... I'll leave first." She stepped back, her footsteps faltering as she made her way towards the door.

Finally, he wasn't going to capture her again. Flora breathed a sigh of relief internally. But then she heard his sarcastic voice from behind, "I'm lacking a competent assistant in District D, perhaps you can temporarily fill in."

"No!" Flora wailed, turning to face him with an anxious expression. "Mr. Kevin, you're overestimating me. I'm just a small waitress, not at all competent. I... I can find someone else for you." She'll find Linda! That girl would be more than willing to take up this role!

"I'm sorry, I'm only interested in you!" Kevin's lips curved into a more charming smile.

"You!" Flora glared at him, anger swelling within her.

Kevin raised an eyebrow at her, a mocking expression on his face.

Flora's temper deflated like a cooked eggplant, and she changed her tone, "Your interest is really unique..."

"Thank you, you can go now. I'll call for you when needed." Kevin chuckled, finding great joy in seeing Flora being bullied into such a state.

Flora walked out of the suite, feeling at a loss. She returned to her workstation, but had no focus to do her job for the rest of the morning. It wasn't until lunchtime when she was dragged by Linda and Chloe to the employee cafeteria on the first floor that she still appeared lost.

"Flora, did you leave your soul in room 2309?" Linda smiled and examined her.

Flora blankly shook her head, picking at the food on her plate with her fork.

Chloe looked at her lifeless state and angrily growled, "What the hell is wrong with you? Speak up!"

This growl successfully drew the attention of everyone in the cafeteria. Realizing what she had done, Chloe awkwardly chuckled and gestured to the surroundings, "I'm sorry, it's nothing. Carry on with your meal."

When she turned to Flora, her face darkened like a chameleon.

Flora was taken aback by her anger and, after regaining her senses, she said with a weak voice, "I suspect he is that devil... Otherwise, why would he target me and toy with me like this?"

If it was just their first meeting, why would he be so interested in her and even know her name, Flora White? What surprised her even more was that he actually knew Maxwell Smith and Oliver Smith!

"What devil?" Linda leaned in with curiosity and asked.

"It's... a bandit who kidnapped me before. He looks exactly like Kevin Davis. I suspect it's him!" Flora thought for a moment and whispered, "He's a bandit!"

"Oh! Kevin is a bandit?!" This time, Linda successfully ignited the atmosphere in the cafeteria, making it even more lively than before.

Flora couldn't take it anymore and stood up, rushing out of the cafeteria. If she stayed any longer, she would die of embarrassment! Kevin finding out that she called him a bandit would definitely not end well for her!

Back in the office, Flora slouched on the sofa, while Chloe walked in quietly, munching on her chips.

Unconcerned, Chloe said, "Finding out if it's the same person is easy. Even twins have their differences! If that bandit had any distinct traits, you just need to identify them on Kevin, right?"
