Chapter 117: Chapter 117
Kevin saw the situation and took the remaining half cup of alcohol from her hand, saying to everyone, "Let me drink on her behalf."
"Alright! Since you, as her boss, are being such a gentleman, then go ahead and drink on her behalf," the crowd cheered.
Flora sat down on the chair, feeling weak, and gratefully looked at Kevin. Under the dim lights, he calmly finished the drink in her cup.
After finishing the drink, everyone took their seats.
Kevin leaned towards her ear and smiled as he explained, "They are friends of mine from when I used to race cars together in Germany. They happened to come back to W City these days for a race. The ladies next to them are their girlfriends or wives."
"Oh, I see," Flora responded somewhat dazedly. To be honest, she wasn't interested in these people. Perhaps it was because they were all strangers. However, seeing how happy they were, she couldn't help but feel envious. Friendship was worth more than love!
"You haven't eaten yet, have some food first," Kevin considerately said, and helped her fill a bowl with delicious dishes.
"Thank you," Flora looked at him and realized how much he had changed.
Compared to the Kevin she saw during the day, who always had a smirk on his face, evil to the point of being detestable, he seemed like an ordinary person right now, a very good friend. They say that the atmosphere can change a person, and in such a joyful moment, he also changed along with it.
During the banquet, Flora was forced to drink another half cup of alcohol, but Kevin helped block off the rest for her. Although so, she still couldn't withstand the effects of the small amount of alcohol. Her head became increasingly dizzy, and her cheeks slightly flushed, making her look charming.
The banquet hadn't even ended yet, and Flora couldn't hold on any longer, slumping softly onto the table. Seeing this, Kevin had to support her and prepare to leave. He didn't expect this woman to be such a lightweight, collapsing after just one drink!
The group of people didn't give Kevin a chance to leave. They shouted, "Kevin, don't rush to leave, the second half hasn't started yet. Don't worry, we've already arranged a room for you. Help your assistant up to the room first."
"Thank you," Kevin said through gritted teeth.
He carried Flora and walked towards the suite they had provided. The room was on the twentieth floor. Kevin laid Flora on the big bed and couldn't help but take a longer look at her delicate face.
But once his gaze landed on her, he couldn't look away. He gazed intently at her face, which was slightly flushed due to the alcohol, even more beautiful than usual. The rosy cheeks made him unable to resist the temptation to get close. It was a deadly allure.
The flushed Flora unconsciously tore at her clothes, causing a glimpse of her chest to be revealed.
Kevin's body tensed, he grabbed her small hand and stared at her helplessly, saying, "Little troublemaker, don't tempt me like this. Otherwise, it's easy for rumors to become reality, and then you will have an even harder time standing your ground at the Moonlight Hotel."
Upon hearing his words, Flora opened her eyes, gazing at him with misty eyes, and asked in a daze, "Why are you here again? Maxwell Smith! Why do you always linger around like a ghost?"
Kevin's face darkened. He lifted her and made her sit on the bed, facing him, and said coldly, "Look carefully, I am Kevin, not Maxwell!" How could she call out Maxwell's name at a time like this? Why is his life always inseparable from those words, 'Maxwell Smith'? Always!
Upon hearing the word 'Kevin', Flora instantly became sober. Startled, she stared at him and exclaimed, "Mr. Kevin, why are you here? Where is this? Oh my... No... I want to go home!" She started to slide off the bed as she shouted.
Kevin grabbed her body and stared at her angrily, saying, "Why can't it be me? You just came out with me, don't you remember? Do you miss Maxwell so much? Do you love him that much?"
Flora hesitated, shaking her head as she stared at him, her speech slightly slurred as she said, "I don't love him, I don't want him."
How could she possibly miss that devil? That wasn't the case! She couldn't avoid him, and yet she still wanted him? Flora found it amusing. Her lips curved into a silly smile, and she kept repeating, "I don't want him, I don't love him..."
"Really?" Kevin's heart stirred with joy. He liked hearing her say that, but why did her expression look so sad when she said those words? Was the saying 'drunk words are sober thoughts' not applicable to her?
Thinking so, he tightened his arms and leaned down, using his kiss to provoke her. Who did she really love, and did she have any feelings for him, Kevin? Perhaps he could find the answers in this one kiss!
Sure enough, she had no feelings for him at all, even before his lips touched hers. She had already dodged away, whispering in confusion, "No! Mr. Kevin, we can't do this."
"Why?" Kevin raised her chin with a finger, appraising her face, and asked coldly, "Why not? You've done it before, so why pretend to be pure?"
"Because I'm just your assistant." Flora had no choice but to stare at him, his handsome face swirling in front of her eyes, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Identities can change," Kevin dismissed it. If that was an excuse, then he would eliminate that excuse today.
"Because I'm pregnant." Flora still spoke softly, she had revealed this news to him. She didn't know if she would regret it once she sobered up. But in order to prevent Kevin from doing something he shouldn't, she had to say it.
Kevin was stunned, dumbfounded, and stared at her in shock. His astonished gaze moved from her face downwards, landing on her flat stomach. He placed his hand on her abdomen and asked blankly, "Here? Is there already a baby growing in here?"
