Chapter 50: Chapter 50

"My mom has your parents."

My knees buckled. Even if he said it breathlessly, I heard and understood that his mom has my parents and it wasn't to have tea.

He caught me before I could land on the steos.

"Where is your sister? We have to make sure she doesn't come home now." He said in determination.

I nod.

My finger finds Andrina's contact and I start to dial before I could stop myself.

"Hello Carrie?"

"Andrina... Please.. help me pick up Gabby from school, and don't bring her home." I say admist tears.

"Okay I will, what's wrong?" She asked in her motherly tone, but alarm was written all over it.

"I'll explain later okay, I want you to do something else for me, when I drop this call, I want you to call the police, send them over to Joseph's house okay? Tell them it's a hostage situation."

"What the he..?"

I disconnect before she could ask, my parents were in danger, I could not stay on the phone any longer.

"Where are you going?" Joseph asked me as I walk out of the house.

"To save my family of course."

He stepped in front of me,

"And how do you intend on doing that, she has a gun and you are unarmed, except you have a spare life somewhere I'm not letting you go in."

"Look, I'm the one she has been stalking, I'm the one she needs, if I can stall her, maybe the police can make it in time."

"And if they don't?"

"Then it's a risk I'm willing to take." I say before by passing him and walking in. He didn't stop me.

The front door was open, first lucky thing. The inside of there house was identical to ours, another luck, I could navigate through without having any issue.

"I'm coming too." I heard him before I saw him.

I smile, my heart was almost out of my mouth but his presence could soothe my fears.

He started on the stairs. I followed suit. Praying for the safety of both my parents. I don't think I could bear it if anything happens to them.

"At last you join us." An unfamiliar voice commented when we reached the landing.

My eyes widened when I saw my parents all tied up on different chairs, mom was crying. Dad was looking at the unfamiliar person like he was seeing a ghost.

My chest hurt to see them that way, I almost broke into tears.

"Mom please stop.." I heard Joseph plead.

His mom, whom I didn't expect to look so good, was laughing. For someone so mental, I expected her to look... Demented. But she looked good...

"Mrs Wilson?" I call out in a small voice.

She turned her smiling face to me. She looked familiar, because Joseph and her shared the same facial structure. Aside from that, she was a complete stranger.

"What do you want from me?" I ask.

She cackled. It was so hard and dry I pitied her vocal cords.

"From you? Don't be so full of yourself dear, I won't want you even if you were the last child in the world, you were just a pawn in my game. Sadly Joseph wasn't a good player seeing as he went to fall in love with you."

Well that stung. I wasn't so bad.

"Then why are you doing this? Why did you send your children after me? Why were you stalking me?" I asked as anger boiled in my veins.

She turned swiftly and pointed the gun in my direction. My breath stuck in my throat. Mom started to cry louder.

"Careful now girl. I hate it when someone raises their voice at me... Isn't that right Mr Anderson?" She said smiling chilily.

I was confused, why would she ask Dad?

"Will you tell her or should I?" She asked Dad in a sultry tone.

I turn to Joseph. He shook his head to say he had no idea what was going on too.

"Well, hope everyone has their pop corn, we have a really long story to tell." She said waving her gun around like it was a mere stick.

I swallowed, since it wasn't me she wanted, we couldn't stall for long. I wanted to hear her story though. I wanted to know if she was plain mad or something else.

"You see, once upon a time in my little village there were two kids, just like the failed player and the chess piece right here. They were in love... Or the girl was, the boy was in it for fun. But the girl didn't know that.

The girl was happy because she was in love with someone that could change her life for the better you see, her family was really poor. But the boy's family was wealthy. Soon enough the girl got pregnant, she was scared because she came from a Christian home, and they would disown her. But she was happy because she foolishly thought they would get married, her rich sweetheart and her...

The boy shocked her when he denied her in public, who could even believe her, their relationship was a secret. He made her an object of public mockery. Her parents disowned her... She had to take care of the child herself...

Soon enough her rich sweetheart had made a name for himself, it wasn't hard to find him. She got pregnant over and over again, trying to get a boy child since his wife said she wished for a girl child. Oh imagine how she felt after finding out her sweetheart had a perfect family without her... Anyway, the girl is me, the rich sweetheart--

"No" I whispered.

- is Mr Anderson."

She said smiling crazily. My knees finally gave out. The place was silent, from the looks on Joseph's face, he too had no idea about this.

My eyes find Dad. He was looking at the wall beside him, not trying to deny the story. Mom looked broken.

"Dad.. it's not true right? She's just crazy right?" I ask in panic.

She laughed. Dad said nothing.

"Dad!!! Say something!!!" I scream as tears stream down my face.

Still nothing.

"Don't fight it honey, you know it's true." She said in her chilly voice.

"Then is Lucy?" Joseph asked.

"Yes, she is an Anderson." She confirmed.

My eyes strayed to Lucy, she had been quiet since everything started. She knew.

"You knew?" Joseph asked in surprise.

Lucy didn't respond.

"So it was a big revenge plan huh?" Joseph asked his mom.

"Yes darling, unfortunately you were of no use, after killing all those female children to finally give birth to you. Very useless." She said spitefully.

Joseph looked like he had been shot.

"What are you going to do with us?" I ask.

"Stop including yourself! But I'll answer you. I needed to embarrass him in front of your mom. Not nearly enough punishment, so I tied your mom up, so he'll never forget the last image he'd see of her. And for his last punishment, which is not really much of a punishment anyway, I'm going to marry him!" She announced.

Everyone stared at her, including Lucy.

She had gone bookers. In that second I finally heard the siren sound.

She looked alarmed.

"Sorry, I had plan B." She said and shot at something.

It was petrol.
