Kate's POV

For the first time in my life,I'm downright stupid,how could I have forgotten to ask the guys the direction to the camp

"Way to go Katerina,be fearless, brave,sexy but stupid"

I kept thinking to myself oblivious of where I was going to to

I was so deep in reprimanding myself before I realized that I was being followed

Is anyone there? You can come out,I don't bite" I turn my back saying to nobody in particular

After a few moments,I could hear a low growl,I don't need anybody to tell me that I'd entered the wolves territory

In as much as my instincts were yelling for me to run,my feets seemed rooted to the ground, I couldn't move, I just stood there too scared to move

The wolf started running towards me but still I didn't move,I decided not to show any sign of fear but stay neutral after all the theory works for dogs,so I presume it should work for wolves too as they seem to be bigger dogs

Thankfully it just stopped and stared at me quizzically for a while before transforming into it's human self

Whoa"

I suddenly breath out to myself

What's making you whoa"?

She asked me corking her head to the side

Yeah,you heard that right,I just said "she" the wolf was a girl

I'm sorry,it's just that I'm surprised"

I say to her finally getting my voice and my stance

" Surprised by what? I'm not the person you were hoping to see?" She questioned again this time inching closer to me

But I'm not scared anymore,not now that I've found out that she's a girl like me,a pretty girl to be honest

That,and the fact that you're a girl"

I say to her as a matter of fact

No need to be surprised, I'm Lola,you are?"

She asked raising her hands out for a handshake

" I'm Katerina,Kate for short,nice to meet you Lola"

I smile at her taking her hands for the shake

" I gotta ask,why weren't you asked other vampires are usually frightened but you didn't even

move"

She asked me looking at me apparently waiting for a reply

Well truthful I was scared but I decided to just face it and square up to my fear,if I'd run away we wouldn't be having this discussion right?"

I ask her smirking at her

Yeah,I guess you're right and that was a really brave thing to do, not everybody faces their fears"

She replied me smiling admiringly

I don't like to brag but I've been given another bonus mark for bravery

I began steadily

What brings you out here, shouldn't you be with your pack or your mate rather than walking out alone??"

I ask her suddenly getting interested

But I'm trying to get her free with me,so I could ask for directions,I mean who knows where to find a wolf than another wolf

Well, you're right, I'm more the independent sort of wolf but I'm supposed to be with my mate but something happened"

She replied me but I couldn't help but notice the sad countenance that had come over her

It seemed my asking her had brought alive some nasty memories,but still I'm determined to know and probably make a new wolf friend

You don't seem happy,what happened to your mate?"

I ask her again this time cautiously so I don't trigger an alarming emotion

After a few moments,of which she started crying hysterically,and I felt bad maybe I shouldn't have asked her

He was killed by a vampire few days ago"

She replied me with much venom getting into her voice

I could only imagine what she would do to the vampire if she set her hands or rather paws on that person

I was about saying something else to comfort but stopped abruptly because of what she said

" I told him not to get involved with the prince of the vampires but he wouldn't listen, he was killed just like that"

She snarled at no one in particular as she said this

Hey it's ok,it wasn't your fault it's mine"

I say to her while moving a little bit away from her and bowing my head

At the moment that I'd said it was my fault,her head had snapped so fast to face me that I immediately regretted saying that,but nevertheless she deserved to know

What do you mean it's your fault,you weren't there" She gazed at me steadfastly without moving

Taking a deep breath and blurting out

I'm the reason he's dead,your mate"

I rasp quietly at her now looking her in the eye

I was kidnapped,and the prince came to look for me because he brought me here so he killed them so he could save me"

I say to her, my eyes now turning red from the tears that were threatening to break free from them

For a moment,I feel she's registering everything I've said because she suddenly draws me in for a hug and weeps for a while

It's not your fault Kate, it's hers" I hear her growl under her breath

Pulling out of the hug for her to face me, I pull out my handkerchief and clean her tears away, then we move over to some rocks and sit down

Lola,what do you mean it's her fault,who are you referring to?"

I turn to ask her after we've sitted

Xina,that's her name" She answered me

My heart skips just as she says xina's name,I mean all along I had suspected her but finding out for real that she was the creator of all this mess was unimaginable

What happened Lola,how did the wolves get tangled up with her"

I needed every details if I'm really going to bring xina down

She started

Stay comfortable and I hope you have time,let me tell you the history behind xina and the wolves"

Something tells me that what I'm going to hear will change everything and am ready for anything....

Damian POV

It's been more than three hours since Kate left and there's been no sign of her coming back

How can you relax when she's not back yet?"

I turned to glare at Oliver who was resting in the corner

Oh chill Damian,she'll be fine and you know it,she can take care of herself" Oliver replied still with that carefree attitude

His carefree attitude was really getting me pissed off but I know he's right if anyone can be safe it's Katerina

I just hope that she's safe...

Xina's POV

Finding the witches quarters wasn't a hard task after all

I'm looking for the witch in charge"

I say to a group of girls that I found cluster at the edge

They just looked at me,and looked away so engrossed in their gossip that they didn't pay attention to me

Whooshing up so fast,I caught one of the girls causing the other girls to gasp in fright because by now my fangs were all out and I was aiming for the girls neck

" I won't repeat myself,you don't give me the answer I want and I'll kill her"

I snarl at the other two girls who were staring at me with frightened gaze

Let the child go, and have your business with me"

A woman said to me coming out from a stall

And who are you?"

I ask giving her a deadly look

"I'm Maryanne,leader of the witches,let the girl go and we can go discuss the reason why you're here"

She replied me not showing any signs of fear

What is going on with everybody? I mean witches are scared of vampires while vampires are scared of wolves,it's like a ridiculous circle but now this witch isn't flinching to the fact that I'm a vampire,seems like Katerina syndrome is getting to her

Way to go xina,think about that bitch right now" I thought to myself

Pushing the witch girl away from me and following Anne's direction till she led me to a small shade that seemed to be a mini coven

What do you wish to know?"

She inquired from me already turning a broth in a cauldron

I want you to give me a poison that can kill a human" I say to her eyeing her suspiciously

For some reasons I don't feel comfortable with this witch,it seems she has a secret that she's hiding but right now that's not my headache,I needed a means of killing that bitch and poison is the only way since she loves food too much

I assume you want to kill the human girl in your clan? But why? Does she happen to be a threat to you?"

Anne asked me while mixing stuff that I'm hoping would be the poison I need

Look here witch,I don't need to explain myself to you,give me what I need or your community will be in ashes and blood drained from every witch in the quarter"

I yell at her in fury,my eyes turning red as I shout at her

She definitely got the memo because she handed me a small pouch

This is called vinegar powder,if you put it in a drink for her she'll die within a minute"

She told me handing me the pouch

Why thank you,you've been helpful now remember to keep your mouth shut or I'll come for your head on a pike"

I say to her with an evil smirk on my lips

Immediately I got what I wanted,I headed back for the castle, I know what to do, I won't go after Damian and the others,I'll wait for them and then poison Kate

No Kate,no opposition,no opposition? Marriage is sure between Damian and I"

With that brilliant plan in mind,I smile to myself getting ready to celebrate in a few days after being rid of that bitch.....

Kate's POV

We've been at this story for three hours now and it's almost sunset meaning I have to get back to Damian

Thank you so much Lola,with your help I can finally show the king that his presumed daughter in law to be is a back stabber"

I smile at Lola as I tell her this words

You just make sure you bring her down,she's the reason my mate is dead"

Lola replied me that anger still burning in her eyes

I will Lola but I have to get back before Damian and his brother start looking for me,it might create an even bigger mess"

I say to Lola as I pull her in for a hug

She's really strong just like me,and she's a good person, making friends with someone who was indirectly responsible for her mate's death isn't something everyone can do but she did

Do come visit me Kate,I'll be more than happy to show you around the wolf territory,it's more than it has been described for you and I know my people would love you,we adore fearless people"

She smiled at me still clasping me for the hug not wanting to let go

Breaking from the hug and looking at her

I wouldn't miss out that opportunity,goodbye Lola I'll never forget you"

I wave at her while taking a step and moving back in the direction I had come from

Oh and Kate"

Her voice stopped me as I turned around to look back at her

Be careful,xina can be very manipulative don't let her defeat you"

She yelled at me seeing that I'm a little bit far from her

I will, goodbye"

I reply her yelling in response too and continuing my trip

Turning around again I can make out that silhouettes of a white and golden wolf running in the other direction

She's gone but she was helpful, different from anybody I've met here

I've got to get to damian and together we'll go the castle before I can tell them the story

Walking a little distance to the where I left the guys, I can see damian pacing around nervously,no doubt he's worried for me

Hey!!! You two was there ever a doubt that I'd come back?" I say to the both of them smiling as I walked closer

Saying that to them had gotten them both to their feets and damian to my side as he pulled me in for a tight hug

I thought you were captured or dead"

Damian kept saying to me as he didn't want to let go of me

I'm fine and here now,it's ok, hiya Oliver I'm surprised to see that you're in one piece"

I say to Oliver smirking childishly at him

It was a miracle Kate but it's relieving to see you alive He smiled at me as he came forward to us

Pulling out of Damian's grip,I tug at both of them to lead the way to the castle

Let's get going people,I'm hungry"

I say to the both of them tugging their sleeves as I drag them back

Kate wait a minute,did you find what you were looking for,did you succeed??" Oliver asked me inquisitively with damian anchoring behind him

I don't have the strength right now for the kind of chat that they need, that will be after I've drank some cold juice

Well I didn't find Daniel"

I say to the both of them keeping the juicy detail

I could see as their expressions turned crest fallen

I found someone else and a solution to the problem"

I finished the statement smiling like I had just won a lottery

Really?? I knew you could do it,tell us about it"

Damian said to me with excitement literally written on his face

No way,I'll give you guys full details after I've eaten" I replied him starting my journey back home

Walking a distance far from them,I could hear Damian say something that made me giggle

Never send that girl on a mission,she'll tease you to death" He said to Oliver

Looking back I can see that they've started walking to me, we're all heading home and the first thing I'm gonna do is have a cold drink

The guys are gonna be shock with my story but that's all part of the fun right??....
