Chapter 67: Chapter 67
"Lenora!" I yelled her name while trying my best to make her open her eyes. The blade hadn't done any damage to her skin yet she wasn't opening her eyes.
Perhaps she passed out from panicking or the shock that came with the realisation that she was close to death.
Diane came closer to where I was standing as she offered to help Lenora. On releasing lenora to her, my rage resurfaced.
I couldn't believe my father almost took Lenora away from me like he had been taking the people I loved away from me. I definitely won't let him get away with this.
"That was the height of it Adolph!" I growled and reached to hit him, I wasn't attempting to just hit him but to let him pay for everything he had caused even if it meant killing him.
it's either I would regret taking this action or celebrate victory but the former had more chances of happening yet I decided to take my chances.
He stood still as he watched me coming closer to him without moving but the instant I was about to hit him with the little knife in my hand, he had dodged and broken the bone of my wrist before throwing me across the room.
It wasn't a good sight to behold as my back crashed against the walls of the hall.
"You've been disobedient yet I chose to let it slide but what I won't tolerate is you raising a hand on me. That is disrespectful!" He sighed as he dusted his clothes.
"I'm done with this shenanigans of yours and screw the midnight, I want to watch you mark Tala Hunter right now! "
"I'll never mark her, you might as well kill me and end this " I responded but deeply I knew he wouldn't kill me because I was the only heir he had. That was the reason why he wanted to end Lenora instead but I won't let that happen on my watch.
"Don't say what you don't mean, obey me and make things easier for you, son. I am your king. I am Adolph and I gave you life. Your purpose in life is to obey me without complaining!" He said through clenched teeth as his pupil narrowed.
I wasn't aware of the fact that Adolph had sneaked his way on me as he threw me across the room until I landed hard on the floor yet this wasn't going to stop me from having what I wanted.
"Hit me as you like but there's nothing you can do to the fact that I won't mark your precious wolf! I'll choose my Lenora any day and any time even at the point of death!"
"Don't make me regret sparing you Alaric, sigh, gone are those days where no one dared to look me in the eyes yet I managed to be somehow soft for a mere young wolf like you to disobey" He sighed as he massaged his temples.
"Please spare the child this once and let him do as he pleases' ' Diane begged the bastard of her husband but it was obvious he wasn't going to listen to her either.
"Shut up" he shunned her as she buried her face in Shame and pain. This Is the life he's trying to force on me.
He never loved Diane, neither was he mated to her but decided to mark her because of her family's power and his selfish reasons.
He never learned to love her or pay attention to her and believed female wolves have no right to speak against their husbands.
I grew up knowing my mother served him like a slave and would flinch at the mere sound of his voice. He didn't give us any attention or love as he wanted us to do things according to his will alone.
When the rest were tired of his act and decided to speak up, he would kill them without wasting any much time until I was the last child remaining.
I've learned to obey his every commandment without saying a word against him until now, he can not forcefully give me the miserable life he had upon himself as I feared I would be worse than my father if I get to sink my canines into someone I detest.
I want to be the best father to my kids and won't let him ruin my life and that of my kids, it would be best if he ends me here on this spot but I will never mark Tala.
When he noticed I wasn't making any attempt to obey him and was probably never going to obey him, he took off his custom European royal suit and rolled his sleeves up as he walked closer to where I was.
I've seen this before, I know what always happens whenever he takes off his suit and rolls his sleeves up, he wasn't going to actually kill me would he?
What guarantee do I have that once I die he would spare Lenora, I can't let that happen. He can't kill me, he can't harm my Lenora either.
"It'll be best to feed your flesh to the vultures than to let you rule after me, you disobedient bastard!" He spat as he lifted me with only an arm. I tried to fight back but it was pointless
It was obvious he had let his beast take control, he definitely won't rest until he gets a taste of blood and I feared we all in this room might not be enough to quench his thirst.
He wasn't in his Palace where there were lots of prisoners to satisfy him. He was going to kill us all.
"No.." Diane muttered under her breath as her fear increased and was noticeable. She didn't seem to be scared about the king alone but it looked like something bad was happening to Lenora.
"Rot with the rest of your siblings " he grinned before I suddenly felt a sharp burning pain in my chest.
"Please leave my son alone, he's the only one I have left" Diane begged while I stood frozen in the air as his hands pierced into my chest, clawing every one of my organs, giving me a slow taste of death before he would rip my heart out.
LENORA'S POV.
"Lenora" a strange voice called me as my eyes fluttered open. I was in a strange place that I have never been to or seen.
It was a garden filled with different blooming flowers and the ocean was behind me, the waves of ocean hit the beach in harmony as the birds flying in the sky made everything relaxing but where the fuck am I?
"My moonlight" The voice called me again but there was no one in my reach.
I turned around and checked every part but met no one until I spotted a figure coming from a distance. I couldn't recognise who it was as it was really foggy but the moment he came out of the fog my eyes opened in awe.
Just like the pictures I've seen, his black hair fell on his forehead as he walked closer to me. His tall slender figure slowly approached me with a smile on his face that made his chiseled jaws recognisable.
"You!" I gasped in shock as I took some steps backwards.
Where the fuck am I and how the hell did I get here? I just want to leave before he gets any closer.
I tried to run away but my legs were not moving,
"Please don't run away my moonlight, I'm not here for evil" He lifted his hands in a way that said he came for peace yet I still couldn't believe it. This couldn't be real.
"Where am I?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter, what matters now is that I really miss you and wish to hug you" he said while stretching out his arms.
"Yoy better stay the fuck away from me!" I warned.
"Okay, I guess we're not in that stage yet but I'm still your father and you're still my little moonlight, I will definitely get a hug from you before you leave" He said with a smile and sat on the beach sands while facing the ocean.
"Won't you get tired of standing, sit" he tapped the ground so I sat but made sure to keep some distance. I don't think it would be easy to trust the man who had left me since I was a little child.
"Why did you leave?" I asked after some while of silence between us.
"Because of you..."
"Perfect!" I scoffed.
"Don't get me wrong, I didn't leave because I wanted to run away from you but because I wanted to help you, or so I thought. "
"You possessed something no one has ever encountered so I went in search of what you had by going to the ancient werewolf packs across the world but it wasn't a smooth journey and I couldn't find answers" he smiled.
"Pathetic and pointless, such a waste of time" I scoffed.
"It wasn't a waste of time if I did it to help you..."
"You claimed you did it to help me but what outcome came of it? Rather than staying with me and being that father I could never have you decided to leave for some pointless trip" I cried
"I didn't mean to..."
"You had no idea the hell I went through with that evil woman you call your wife, you don't know the hell I'm still going through" I cried.
"I know you've been going through some rough times and that's the reason why you're here "
"How does that word even help when I have no idea of where I am? " I screamed but he kept quiet in return as he sighed with his head buried in his palms.
"Look Lenora, I understand everything you're going through and the grief you're facing but youhave to listen to me because you can't stay here for a long time" he rushed his words while I kept quiet and tried to control my tears.
"The name I gave to you means light and I had called you that name the instant you were born. You came out of your mother shining really bright. It was a wonder I have never encountered. "
"Right now you know most of the truth and what you're capable of doing, just know that no amount of poison in your system can stop you from being who you truly are. The same way the clouds can't cover the light from the sun is the same way no one can cover your glory and powers."
"I wish I could stay here and talk to you longer but you need to leave now, if you don't then you might end up losing the one person that would bring back the joy to your life." He said and stood up from the beach sand.
"Where am I going?" I questioned as I also stood up.
"Back to where you came from silly" he responded with a smile.
Even though I try to tell myself to hate him, the little words he said to me were everything I needed to hear at this moment.
"How do I go?" I asked in confusion but he pointed towards a wooden door that led into a cave. I gave him a suspicious look as I wasn't sure about me going into a cave.
"Trust me, it'll take you back!" He said like he was reading my mind. I don't know why I was listening to him or trusting him but something in me felt like I was in a safe place. A land of peace perhaps.
"Can I still have a hug before you leave?" He requested and approached me with his arms wide open. I hugged him but immediately pulled away as I walked towards the door.
On opening it was total light, too bright for me to see through and I realised he must be telling the truth afterwards.
I turned to look at him one more time but he wasn't there anymore but in a further place and beside him was a familiar figure that looked like my grandmother.
I saw a person waving at me from a distance as my eyes flew open the moment I recognised him but unfortunately I had slipped into the door. Wasn't that Jika?
