Chapter 68: Chapter 68

A gasp left my mouth the moment my eyes flew open and I found myself yet in the Palace. It must have been a dream but it felt so real.

A sharp pain stung my chest and I screamed in awe while clenching my chest tight with my hands, my senses resurfaced as I lifted my head to see blood trailing down Adolph's arms as his hands were dug into Alaric's body.

The sight of seeing Alaric's blood spilling on the ground, the sight of his skin going pale, the sight of blood gushing from his mouth as he struggled for his life.

The feeling of pain in him, the feeling of pain in me and the spinning of my head made everything worse for me. I tried to yell but words didn't seem to be leaving my mouth.

Alaric's eyes finally met with my startled eyes as his lips curled up in a painful smile at the sight of me. He was smiling at me while his eyes were closing shut and his hands were no longer fighting for his life.

He was losing it, he was giving up, the life in him was leaving, something in me was disappearing. I couldn't bear the pain anymore as I screamed out loud in pain.

"Get away from him you monster!" I yelled but my voice came out different as I felt my hands changing to a furry claw at the speed of lightning.

I could feel my whole body changing as I was suddenly tucked at a corner and immediately realised that my wolf, Lora, had taken control of my body as I had shifted into a wolf. But that's not possible.

I wasn't able to think anymore as I could feel Lora's rage increasing but it was more of a painful rage as she cried in anger while storming towards Adolph.

I felt like we weren't going to make this, Adolph was the strongest creature to ever exist and we on the other hand have no idea what we were.

"What in the seven hell is happening?" Adolph staggered as he immediately threw Alaric to the ground while Diane instantly rushed towards her son.

I tried to plead with my wolf to stop but she wouldn't listen as she continued to approach Adolph until I accepted the fact that we were going to die either way but it was different.

Something unexpected happened as not even Adolph could stop my wolf as she flinged him across the room with just a hand.

Adolph was instantly frightened at the amount of strength from my wolf but his fright was quick to turn to wrath as he also turned into his beast self and got ready for a fight.

"Lora, please stop this!" I pleaded with my wolf as I cried in a corner.

"I'm tired of you and I'm done listening to you, you've always made me hide myself in a corner and let the enemies slowly kill me but I won't let that happen anymore "

"If you think you want to keep on being a scaredy cat then I hope you'll get used to being at the corner for the rest of your life!"

"What the hell are you even thinking of? you're watching my mate getting killed without doing anything but crying, are you that dumb and stupid. Do you want us to go through the same phase we struggled to heal from?"

"You made yourself believe the fact that you're weak and can never change from being like that but I'm tired of this episode, if you don't change, I'll take matters into my hands!" She growled while I kept silent afterwards as the words sunk deeply into my head.

If I can't do much for myself then I have to support my wolf with this, she won't be all by herself in this fight, I need to join her so we could be stronger.

"I'm sorry" I apologised to her but she didn't respond as she kept her eyes on Adolph's beast who was coming towards us with full speed.

I had no idea how this works as I haven't heard of a female wolf shifting but I need to bond with my wolf no matter what and as fast as I could before Adolph approaches us.

After countless failed efforts, I was feeling hopeless but knew that was exactly the problem everyone had with me.

"I apologise for my stupidity and I promise to treat us equally henceforth, if you let me back in" I pleaded while rushing my words and fortunately it worked as I felt my body reconnecting with my wolf.

It was then I realised I had pushed her away for so long that we were becoming two different persons. Bonding with her once again felt so strange but was the perfect thing to do and the perfect thing to feel.

Lora didn't flinch or whimper as there was no sign of fear in her while Adolph approached us even faster. Rather than scurrying away in fear, she stood on her ground as she made her feet solid on the floor and refused to be submissive no matter how tough Adolph's aura was.

The devil was finally only inches away from us as he looked at us straight in the eyes with his teeth clenching. He growled In anger but Lora didn't feel intimidated as she looked him back in the eyes.

I wasn't intimidated or scared of him anymore as I supported my wolf in this. We fiercely stared at Adolph straight in the eyes without moving or bowing no matter how tough he seemed to appear until he took some steps backwards and changed to his normal self with a smirk on his face.

"What are you?" He questioned with a satisfied grin on his face as he stood in his human form In front of us. He now looked really tiny and seemed so easy to kill.

"I surrender" He said in a loud tone as he lifted both his hands in the air as a sign of peace.

"Now, I'd like to talk to you. Please change to your human form " He pleaded and I felt like this was the first time he has ever said that word in his entire life as it was hard for him to say it out.

"Don't screw up!" Lora threatened me as she succumbed and let me come out of her as I changed to my normal form.

I said nothing to Adolph as I stood straight with my head raised and staring straight at his eyes. I could feel him trying to force his aura on me and to make me bow but it wasn't working on me anymore.

"I see you're truly not just a regular wolf but what are you? In my thousands of years of being alive, I have never seen a female shifter, so tell me what you are?" He asked as he cocked his brows while I stared at him straight in the eyes without breaking the connection.

"I don't know," I bluntly replied.

"Nice, I guess we'll figure it out together once you come live with us in the Palace as my daughter in-law and future queen" he smiled but I could feel he wasn't comfortable.

He was trying hard to look me back in the eyes but by the twitching of his eyes, I sensed it was hard for him and perhaps my aura was too strong for him too.

"Apologise" I bluntly said as his eyes twitched in annoyance.

"What?!" He said disgustingly.

"Do not apologise to me, apologies to your son and your wife! " I repeated and Increased my aura. I loved where this was going and the sudden power.

"Forgive me " He turned to Diane who sat by Alaric as they both stared at me like I grew a second head. Alaric was already healing fast as his wounds were closing. He seemed to be stunned but at the same time happy as he smiled at me and I felt proud of myself.

"I guess that's all, we'll further our discussion in my Palace but right after Alaric marks you right here.." Adolph said but Alaric was quick to cut him off.

"I'll mark her when I know she's ready " he replied but Adolph gave him a scornful look, he wanted to go against it but couldn't say anything. He was watchful of his words and I could tell he hated the feeling.

"Well then, I'll leave for my Palace right now. Prepare the Jet!" He commanded the guard who stood astonished at the corner of the room before realising his master had just given him a command and scurrying away.

After Adolph left the room, I heaved a sigh of relief. I had no idea where this came from but I was glad it came at the right time.

I instantly rushed towards Alaric who was already up on his feet as I stared at him with worries in my eyes. If I had been a minute late then Alaric would have been a past tense.

"Are you okay..." I tried to say but he was quick to silence my lips with his lips on mine as he pulled me closer to him with his arm on my waist and I immediately gave into his body.

Thousands of butterflies swarmed in my stomach as I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss even if that meant I had to stand on my toes since he was too tall.

The taste of his soft lips was the perfect medication I needed as it sent a weird sensation down my spines and managed to calm every one of my tensed muscles as I suddenly felt nothing but him.

His smell grew stronger and intoxicating as his tongue found its way to mine. I wished I could see his face and be lost in his beautiful emerald eyes but my lips didn't wish to depart from his as he gently sucked and bit on my lower lips. A moan left my mouth and the beat of his heart increased. Feeling his hard bulge against mine overpowered my senses as I felt my vulva pulsating.

"Ahem..." Diane faked a cough as both our lips separated when we realised we had almost made out in the presence of the Queen. We might have been on good terms but it was still a little bit disrespectful.

"I'm sorry " I instantly apologised but she didn't seem to mind as the smile on her face only grew broader.

"Please do not apologise, it's perfectly fine and I understand " she said with a smile but Alaric's bulge grew even more as it poked my belly and I felt a wetness in between my legs but my face turned red the moment I realised my arousal could be smelt by the Queen and even Alaric himself.

"I should excuse you two now and I'm sure you know very well on how to handle those " she pointed at Tala and Clara in an irritating way before walking out and her personal guard following behind.

I had totally forgotten about the fact that Tala and Clara were in the same room as they looked at me with fear in their soul. Clara looked like she could pass out any moment from now.

Even though they were far away from where I was, I could smell the fear in them as it was really strong.

"What do you want to do to them?" Alaric asked, still with his hands around my waist. I didn't want to think about those two fools as I only wanted to concentrate on Alaric. He looked really happy and I realised the grip of his hands on my waist never loosened but only got tighter.

"The queen told me to give this to you, it's the poison that was brought out of your system, she expects of you to do well with them" her maid said and handed over a bottle to me before walking away.

I stared at the bottle with a smile, the Queen wanted them to get a taste of their medicine but I wanted something more painful for them. I wanted them to feel the same way I have been feeling all these years.
