Chapter 66: Chapter 66

This couldn't be happening,  this was unfair, the king was being unfair. Tala had also caused injuries to me but he never paid attention  to that and just this once I managed to have the upper hand, he was still going to be on Tala's side and everything seemed like he had made up his mind right from the start.

"This isn't fair Father!" Alaric spoke up in a raised rone as he stood up and pointed his finger to the King, the queen wasn't happy about his decision either as she abandoned Tala on the floor with her eyes fixed on the King as she stared at him in disbelief.

"I have made my final decision!" The king repeated as I completely broke down. He could not possibly do this to me. I was just surviving from a trauma when Alaric came and I don't think I would be able to bear it if I watch him mark another woman who isn't just any woman but my sister.

"But this is pure bullshit!" Alaric roared in anger, his beast was forcing its way out of his body as he flinged his throne across the room. The whole room went dead silent as everyone shook in fear. They were all scared for their dear lives.

"Watch your tone, young wolf!" The king said but Alaric had immediately cut him off.

"Don't you dare call me that, you obnoxious bastard!" Alaric spat as everyone In the room gasped. Something terrible was definitely going to happen in this room tonight.

"Alaric!" Diane rushed towards him as she tried to calm him but he was too angry to notice her as his eyes were fixed on the king who was just surprised at the sudden  outburst of his son.

"Please calm down a bit Alaric and let me talk to him " Diane begged as Alaric finally noticed her standing in front of him but the anger in his face didn't seem to subdued.

"You better get the fuck away from here and mind your business, run away and hide just like you always did whenever your bastard of a husband killed my siblings."

"If you really want to talk to the king like you claim then you would have done that decades of years ago when you watched him slay your own children in my presence. You expect me to put my trust in you or rely on you?" Alaric scoffed.

"You watched him kill your own children but did nothing to stop it, I refuse to be a bitch like you!" He cursed as the tears suddenly built up in the queen's eyes but she was trying to contain them from falling.

"Every commoner should get out of this room!" Adolph commanded when he noticed the Queen was about to break down and within some seconds the hall was suddenly empty as it contained just me, the royal family and my forbidden family.

"This is what you get for not raising your children in the right way" the king spoke to the Queen in disgust.

"And as for you, you're marking Tala whether you like it or not!" He said to Alaric.

"And why should I give a flying fuck about what you say, huh?" Alaric spoke back as I tried to think of what I could do to calm him down but I didn't think anything would work out at this moment as he was really angry.

"If you don't do as I say then you'll as well end up like the rest of those bastards you call siblings."

"That is where you're mistaken, Adolph, they're not the bastard but you are! They're just unfortunate to have to call someone like you a father..."

"Watch your tongue once again Alaric!" The king lifted his finger to warn Alaric but he didn't seem to  be scared of his father anymore.

I didn't want this to turn out bad because I knew it wouldn't be nice, especially not when it is because of me. Adolph is still the ruler and still has power over Alaric. He could easily kill Alaric with a command but Alaric seemed to be fighting the urge to be submissive to him no matter how intimidating the King's aura was.

I needed to do something but there wasn't much I could do in this situation on the ground but to talk to Alaric even if that meant talking him to mark Tala even though I don't think I would survive the pain this time.

"Alaric please stop!" I yelled as the attention I'm the room suddenly fell on me. He seemed to have calmed down from my voice and what I needed to do right now was to talk to him, hopefully he would listen to me without creating a scene. It'll be the best for both of us.

As I was about to walk towards him, the King had a scornful look on his face and I definitely wasn't expecting the next thing he said.

"Seize her!" He commanded as two guards suddenly held me tight with their strength. This didn't help any situation as Alaric was more angered than he was.

My eyes fell on Clara who had a satisfied smile on her face as she watched me in happiness. She knew she was already favoured by the King and might definitely win this since he's the one in full control.

I watched how she helped Tala up on her feet that weren't completely healed since the Queen had abandoned her on the floor. She gently placed Tala  beside a wall and wrapped her arms around her while they both watched me like I was in some kind of movie.

"Let her go!" He commanded the King but it was of no use as the king ignored him and walked closer to me. My only concern was the silver sword that was on the guard's hands as I wouldn't want that to come close to me after what Alaric had said about it earlier on.

"My own son is defying me because of this little pathetic mouse right in front of me" He laughed.

"Maybe you'll learn your manners and come back to your senses once I get rid of her!" The tone in his voice changed as he turned his back at me.

"Slay her!" He commanded.

"Wait, don't!" Both the queen and Alaric screamed in unison but my vision went blurry the moment I felt a silver sword on my throat.

ALARIC'S POV

I watched how Lenora tore her sister's face apart and for some reason I saw my beast in her. We were definitely getting connected already but she needs to stop before the lust for blood would be uncontrollable.

It would be an awful sight to see her eating her sister's eyeballs out but I couldn't stop her from fueling her satisfaction.

She was clearly venting her anger on her sister and I wouldn't want to stop her but the King was quick to stop the fight. I looked at his face with a satisfied smile on mine but he didn't seem to be happy as he held a scornful look while staring at Lenora.

He truly didn't like Lenora for reasons unknown to everyone, at first he claimed she was weak but now she proved herself to be strong yet he wasn't still happy about it.

Lenora eventually stopped hitting her sister and I was the first person she turned to look at, she had guilt in her face but I had immediately given her a smile to assure her that she didn't do anything bad as I muttered some sweet words to her while she smiled back.

Adolph wasn't interested in any of these as he commanded the queen to heal Tala, he had never done that to Lenora yet here he is being unfair after constantly reminding us of how he hates partiality yet he isn't practising what he is preaching.

He looked at the scene for a long time without saying anything until he finally found his voice back and decided to speak up.

"Nevertheless, this doesn't conceal the fact that the young lady laying on the floor had won two battles in a row. Inflicting serious injuries on opponents are also prohibited as I hereby declare Tala Hunter as the winner! " He proudly said as I was immediately dumbstruck at his words.

They made no sense and he must be joking right now, there's no way he would mean what he was saying but then again he has always been serious with his words and wasn't a type to make fancy jokes.

I watched him with my mouth slightly parted for some time in disbelief until I couldn't take it any longer and decided to confront him.

I knew it might not lead to anything good or yield a positive result but why shouldn't they try anyway.

The only reason why he had been getting away with everything he has been doing was because no one dared to stand up to him.

That has to end today and I'll make it end, he might be the king but sometimes everyone needs to be put in their right places.

"I have made my final decision!" He said without any emotion or feeling after I talked to him. His words angered me and I could feel my beast being pissed off.

I tried to control him but it wasn't helping as he was constantly fighting me for being silent all these while. He wants to take matters into his hands but if I let him then it'll be bloody.

The more I tried to calm myself the more my mind couldn't seem to forget the fact that my father wants me to mark another woman who isn't Lenora and settle ties with her. It only made me more upset than I was already.

"Watch your tone young wolf!" He threatened.

"Don't you dare call me that, you obnoxious bastard!" I replied but it wasn't me talking anymore but my beast, he isn't a fan of having long talks and wanted to take a bite out of Adolph's skin already.

Diane tried to comfort me but it was of no use as she wasn't much different than him. She's free to be a pussy cat and cower away from matters like this but I refuse to let him win this one as I would make sure to fight till my last breath.

This wouldn't just be a fight to have Lenora but a fight to gain my freedom from his bondage.

"Alaric, please stop!" Lenora cried and the moment I heard her voice, my body seemed to have calmed down a little until I saw Adolph walking towards her direction as he ordered his guards to seize her.

"Let her go!" I growled in anger,  he has no right to seize her because she has done nothing wrong.

We were having a fight as father and son and there was no need to bring Lenora into this.

"My own son is defying me because of this little pathetic mouse right in front of me. Maybe you'll learn your manners and come back to your senses once I get rid of her!" He said in a familiar tone that brought back bad memories I had buried as flashbacks of swords piercing into skins filled my mind.

The same tone he spoke in when he was about to carry out his evil work on my siblings.

"Slay her!" The familiar word finally left his mouth as it all seemed like a deja vu.

I wouldn't be scared because Lenora couldn't be killed by just any weapon but the sword on the guard's hands wasn't just any weapon. It was a silver sword, a thing that shouldn't come In contact with Lenora's skin for now yet her neck was about to be slit by it.

"Get your hands off her!" I roared while running towards Lenora with every speed in me and just in time I was able to rip out his cervical spine and in no time stabbed him with the sword in his hands until his blood was all over the hall but Lenora was already unconscious on the floor.
