Chapter 87: Chapter 87

Guilt

Landon.

One of the Witches pulled out a dagger from nowhere and she unsheathed it to reveal the sparking blue blade.

She continued chanting with the rest of them and she slowly walked towards Rhazien who was struggling on his knees to break free from the effect of the spell.

She brought the dagger down to stab Rhazien, but all of sudden, large black wings sprouted out of Rhazien's back, tearing through the leather armor he wore.

He swung the wings in the air and the sharp edges sliced through the head of the Witch standing close to him.

I watched as her head slowly rolled to the ground and the dagger in her hand clattered to the ground.

Because it was a joint spell, her death affected the spell for a while and Rhazien quickly stood up on his feet.

He moved closer and his wings chopped off the head of another Witch.

"Nevilum difiltrea coropus zedi. Nevilum difiltrea coropus zedi," the remaining three Witches began to chant quickly and Rhazien fell on his feet again.

He groaned, struggling to break free from the spell as the Witches continued chanting. This time, his wings were also being supressed. One of the Witches walked forward and she picked up the dagger that had fallen from the first witch.

Rhazien closed his eyes and I could feel the magic in the air getting stronger and stronger. The Witches groaned, and I could see that they were struggling to keep on saying the chants.

Rhazien was absorbing their magic without physical contact and their throats were tightening to prevent them from chanting.

Rhazien groaned as he slowly got up on his feet and his surpressed wings slowly sprouted larger and larger, he swung both of his wings and in that single, swift movement, the heads of the two Witches before him rolled to the ground.

The third one behind him was about to stab him with the dagger, but Rhazien swiftly turned around and he drove his hand into his chest.

Rhazien gritted his teeth with a satisfied smile and the Witch gasped painfully.

"This is for you," the Witch groaned and she suddenly drove the dagger into Rhazien's chest. Rhazien groaned and he let go of the Witch letting her fall lifelessly to the ground.

Rhazisnt groaned and he staggered backward. I watched as the dark lines on the face slowly disappeared and his red eyes reverted to their normal blue color.

He slowly fell on his knees and he pulled out the dagger from his heart.

The dagger was not supposed to kill him.

Rhazien looked around at the dismembered bodies of the dead Witches and the blood with guilt and pain in his eyes.

It was to bring him back to his senses.

Rhazien looked at his hands with pain and guilt in his eyes.

"What have I done".

*

I gasped as I suddenly opened my eyes. Viktor let go of my head and he moved his forehead away from mine. His eyes were teary and he looked pained.

What did I just see??

"Viktor-" He backed away slowly.

"Are.....are you Rhazien." I asked him.

"I don't know why I showed you all that," Viktor said instead and he picked up his briefcase.

"I have to go," he said and before I could stop him, he walked out of my office. For several minutes after he left, my gaze remained on the door.

Did he go through all of that??

Presently.

When I heard about the rescheduling of the Gala, I was somehow glad that I would get to see Viktor again, but since we had been here, he hadn't looked me in the eye for once.

I looked up as Viktor walked up to us after Dante had sent him to check with Xander what was happening.

"I just talked to Xander and he said everything is alright and that the show is about to begin," Viktor said, chuckling at his last words.

Show??

"Show?" Kara chuckled.

Viktor pulled the chair next to me back to sit down and I looked at him, but he avoided eye contact with me and he pulled out his phone.

I looked up as I saw that everyone in the hall suddenly stood up on their feets in unison including Dante's Secretary.

"What's happening??" Dante asked and stood up. It all looked so creepy.

Slowly, everyone turned around to face us and their eyes looked void of life and emotion as they stared at us.

"Kara, what is happening??" Dante asked his secretary, but she simply stared at us. They all looked so robotic right now.

"Dante Rivera, you are about to he judged for your sins," everyone said in unison and I looked at Dante. What did he do?? Someone compelled them and obviously had a grudge against Dante.

"Well, it's one hell of a show," Dante shook his. Viktor stood up defensively and I stood up too.

"What's this? Don't tell me that everyone here has been compelled," I said.

"Well, that definitely explains the quick rescheduling of the Gala," Dante replied and I nodded, realizing he was right.

"Who did you offend?" Viktor asked.

"I might have facilitated the killing of Javier RedWood," Dante replied immediately..

What?? He killed a Redwood???

He glanced at Natasha as he talked and I wondered if she was the one who killed him since he mentioned facilitating it.

I ignored it and looked forward again to prepare for whatever was coming.

All of a sudden, the door at the other end of the hall burst open and I watched as several Vampires stepped in. They parted and someone else walked.

Wait, that was Javier RedWood.

"Ummm. Are you sure that Javier really died??" I asked, confused.

He was dressed in a long black leather coat and his super black and long hair fell over his shoulder. His eyes had a sparking green color and his lips were voluptuous red..

"That isn't Javier. That's Luther Redwood," Viktor said and my eyes widened in surprise. That was the second one I saw in the memory.

This is all fucked up.
