Chapter 68: Chapter 68

Mind Reading

Killian took out his phone from his pocket, showing the bartender a picture of Dante.

"Oh. It's that man," I heard the bartender say, but lips didn't move so I know I read his mind. Human minds were very easy to read.

"No," the bartender lied and I was surprised, but I hid it.

"Are you sure, take a closer look," Killian said, showing the picture to him again.

"I can remember anyone who comes to the bar, and I didn't see that man," the bartender lied again and Killian nodded, dropping his phone in his pocket.

He grabbed his glass of wine and gulped it halfway before dropping it. He took out his credit card and handed it to the bartender who took it and processed the payment.

He handed Killian back his card with his reciept and Killian faced me.

"Let's go," Killian said and I stood up, following him.

"If they didn't come here, I don't know where else they could have gone," Killian stated.

"But they came here," I said and Killian faced me with his eyebrows raised in confusion and inquisitiveness.

"Do you know something?" He asked and I nodded, looking over my shoulder a bit at the bartender who was staring at us.

"I do," I replied.

"The bartender lied. Infact, he recognizes Dante," I said and Killian looked even more confused.

"I read his mind," I explained and Killian stopped walking immediately.

"What?!" He exclaimed quietly and I nodded to affirm what I had just said.

"Yes, I can read minds and I know he saw Dante here yesterday so if he's lying, then there's something wrong," I said quickly. Kilian looked sideways at the bar and I looked there too to see the bartender hurriedly dialing a number on his phone.

Immediately, Killian dashed towards the bar and he yanked the phone away from him.

He threw the phone in my direction and immediately grabbed the bartender by the throat.

"Come with me," Killian gritted his teeth and he dragged the bartender to the back of the bar.

I caught the phone quickly and I saw that a number had been dialed, but I quickly ended the call before it could go through.

I quickly walked to the bar and I flipped in the air, over to the other side of the counter and I followed them to the back of the bar.

"You motherfucker!" Killian smacked the bartender against the wall with his hand wrapped around his throat.

"So tell me what the fuck did you do to him?!" Killian bellowed at the bartender.

"I........I don't know what you're talking about," the bartender said, struggling to voice out with Killian's hand wrapped around his throat.

"That man, he came here so don't you dare lie to me. Was he here or not?" Killian asked.

"Killian, you're going to kill him," I said as I realised that he was only human and he could choke to death.

"Did he come here?" Killian asked and he softened his grip on the barterder's throat.

"Yes," the bartender replied, "yes, he did."

"So what happened to him. Why did you lie?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I don't know what happened to him, I only did what I was paid to do" he replied, thinking the last part of the sentence to himself.

"Who paid you and what did you do?" I asked and the bartender looked a bit surprised, probably because I asked that question like I knew what he was thinking.

"Answer her!" Killian bellowed at him, pressing him against the wall.

"They gave me something when I first got my job here and I'm supposed to put it in the drink of anyone after giving me a signal," he said quickly and Killian let go of him.

"I don't know what happens after that," the bartender added, breathing heavily.

"Who did you try to call just now?" I asked and he faced me.

"It's one of those ladies. I'm supposed to call her if anyone comes asking about anyone I drug," he replied and I sighed in frustration.

They had already abducted Dante and Nathan and only God knows what is being done to them right now.

I looked at his phone in my hand and I went to the call history, looking at the number he dialed.

"Can we track down the location of this number?"

"We can track the number." I and Killian said at the same time and I nodded.

I handed him the phone and he took out his phone too. He copied the number into his phone and sent it as a text to someone.

He quickly dialed a number and he held it up to his ears.

"I sent you a phone number. Track it quickly and send me the location right now," Killian instructed before ending the call.

I sat down a stool on and sighed. I was feeling so worried that something bad was going to happen to them and my instincts were right most of the time.

"How many people have they made you drug?" I asked the bartender and he looked at me with fear and guilt.

"I don't know. A few times I guess," he replied and I shook my head. And all because of money.

"Well you're definitely going to loose your job now cause the man you drugged is a business partner of Zon," Killian said and the bartender looked scared.

"I didn't know. I'm so sorry, please I really need this job," the bartender pleaded and even though I pitied him, I knew Dante would surely make him pay for his actions.

Killian's phone rang and he accepted the call.

"I've sent you the location," I heard a voice echo from the phone and Killian ended the call.

"We have to go now," he said and all of a sudden, he threw a punch in the bartender's face. He went unconscious immediately and Killian let go of him, letting him fall to the floor.

"I have the location, let's go."
