The table was filled with several dishes, but no one had touched them. The four of them kept refilling their wine glasses and no one said a word.

Silas kept glancing at his daughter and she smiled nervously each time.

He dropped his wine glass and looked up.

"Dante, get us more drinks will you?" Silas asked with a polite smile and Dante didn't respond for a while before eventually giving a nod and standing up.

"Nigel, go with him." Silas faced him and Nigel immediately went after Dante.

"Kiara, a Werewolf. You came to introduce me to a werewolf?!" Silas exclaimed silently. The crease on his forehead, the twitching of his eyebrows and his throat moving up and down made it obvious that he was trying to keep his calm.

"Yes, Dante is a Werewolf and I don't think anything is wrong with that," Kiara replied.

At the bar, Nigel stood by the counter as Dante ordered drinks.

"How did you meet my sister?" Nigel asked and Dante faced him.

He wasn't surprised at all, he didn't ever expect them to behave this calmly.

"She's your sister. She must have mentioned it unless of course, your relationship..."

"Don't act smart with me!" Nigel interrupted him angrily.

"You're a Werewolf and you are not welcome."

"You can never be with Kiara!"

"Well, I guess we'll leave all that up to her," Dante replied and grabbed the drinks on the counter.

Silas gulped down another glass of beer and dropped it carelessly on the table.

"Everything is wrong with it. He's a werewolf and we're Vampires," Silas replied.

"Wrong. I'm a Hybrid. I'm part Werewolf," Kiara replied.

"And you weren't part Werewolf when you married mom," she added and Silas' countenance turned sour.

"And it didn't turn out well, did it?"

"Kiara, you have to leave him."

"I can't." Kiara sighed heavily.

"Why?"

Kiara sighed again, "He's my mate."

"Are you really not going to do anything about the both of them?" Nigel asked frantically as he walked to the car with Silas.

Kiara and Dante had stayed back at the restaurant after Dante promised to bring her back.

"Don't be senseless Nigel." Silas stopped walking and put his hands in the large pockets of his coat.

"You heard them. Dante is Kiara's mate and whether you like it or not, she is bonded to him," Silas stated without a trace of emotion in his eyes.

"Are you saying we're going to sit by and do nothing about it?" Nigel sighed and asked, resting on the car.

Silas nodded.

"That's right. You're not going to do anything about it." Silas opened the door of the car and climbed in.

¶ Right beneath the stars in the dead of the night.

Into your arms, I can face all my demons.

Starting to see all the details I missed in the old zone.

I hate myself for wasting so much time merely stealing glances instead of waking up to your face every day. We'll be slaying our demons....¶

Water dripped down Silas' hair and the tips of his hair as he raised his head out of the hot bath.

He stood up in the bath and wrapped a long, soft white towel hung next to the bath. Water dripped from his naked body to the floor as he climbed out of the bath and he dried his body with the towel. He hung the towel back and put on his dress, a violet robe.

He grabbed the hot cup of coffee on his table and took a sip out of it as he replaced the music disk playing.

¶ Coming from the other side. Expected things to be better. I got fucked up instead, and found no where better than home. If I could ch.....¶

"I'll call you when I get back to the pack." Silas heard a voice from outside the fortress with his vampire hearing.

He walked to the windows and he pushed the curtain aside slightly to look outside.

He could see Kiara and Dante standing beside Dante's car outside the fortress.

Kiara walked towards the fortress and Dante climbed into his car, driving away.

Kiara glanced up and Silas quickly pulled back the curtain, stepping away.

Silas breathed in deeply with his eyes closed. He walked to his dressing table and adjusted his short hair with a short brush.

He stared at his reflection in the mirror for a while before something lit up on his face. He took one more sip of his coffee and dropped the mug, walking out of the room.

He moved down the hallway, walking past the guards and other Vampires who showed their respect to him with a slight bow.

"Kiara-" Silas' voice resounded across the hallway the instant the set of double doors opened and Kiara walked in.

"Follow me, I want to have a word with you," he added and immediately turned around , walking back in the direction of his room.

As he got to his room, he opened the door and walked in. Kiara soon walked in after him and she closed the door.

"I know what you're gonna say, but-"

"No, no, that's totally fine. Dante is your mate and I understand that," Silas interrupted her and he walked closer to her.

Kiara nodded, sighing in relief silently.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Kiara asked.

"I'm actually going to be doing all the talking," Silas replied and Kiara raised her eyebrow in confusion.

"I'm sorry about this." Silas moved closer and he locked eyes with Kiara. She became unable to move or blink her eyes as his mind took a hold of hers.
