Chapter 149: Chapter 149

Spy

Dante.

I realized Silas' voice the instant I heard it. How was this possible?

At first, Silas wasn't comfortable with me being with Kiara, but he later became accepting and warmer towards me than I ever thought he would.

"Dante Paulo Steele, it's time you pay for what you've caused my family."

It was Silas. It was definitely, "Silas."

I muttered and Natasha immediately signaled me to keep quiet.

She pulled me down the stairs and placed her hand on the wall, moving the walls apart.

I couldn't believe that Silas was responsible for any of this. I either didn't hear what I thought I heard, or he has been fooling me for so many years.

"What are you doing, let's go," Natasha tugged at me as I stopped walking.

"He knows we are down here and he'll trace it to the trap door, we can't stay long here," I replied telepathically and immediately ran into the dungeon, running towards the entrance.

I grabbed the spare keys hung on the wall and began to open the door quickly, trying not to make a sound that would attract them.

The door opened and we quickly zoomed out of the dungeon.

I closed the door gently and we made a run for the exit.

Just as we ran out of the building, I stopped running as I saw several Vampires standing in the way.

"There's no way we can get past them," Natasha said and I nodded bitterly.

"That's right. You're going nowhere," I turned my head to the side as I heard Silas' voice.

He nodded at his men and of them held a spray tank. Silas and all the other Vampires put on gas masks and they stepped back a bit.

I gulped, knowing the only possible thing that could be in the spray tank and I closed my eyes as silver dust was sprayed into the air.

The dust first attacked my skin, burning as hell before slowly making its way into me through my ears and nose.

The dust burnt me on the inside and I groaned in pain, slowly falling to my knees.

I couldn't breathe as every breath I took contained infinite particles of what seemed like pure fire.

It soon got to my head and my vision began to become blurry. The Vampire standing in front of me slowly became figures, then they appeared as the colors of their clothes before everything slowly became dark.

I took a look at Natasha who was also fighting the effect of the silver dust before I went unconscious.

I grunted as I slowly opened my eyes. My eyes felt heavy and my head ached, but most of all, my inside still felt like it was on fire.

I tried to move, but I felt a stinging cold bite of silver in my wrists and ankles.

I looked up and down to see that I was chained up and I groaned in frustration.

I looked around and saw that I was in a dark cell. It was more like a room though, except that it had only one window that was covered with a thick black curtain and there was nothing else apart from a table that was occupied with several torture weapons.

I was certain that I was in Silas' fortress. This was the same place that I always came to with what seemed like a sense of security among Vampires.

I never imagined that Silas could be behind the threats or that he had evil intentions toward me.

At first, he didn't seem okay with the idea of being with Kiara, but he later became accepting after he found that I was her mate.

It seemed so easy, but I assumed it was because he had married a Werewolf himself.

If he wanted to hurt me all this while, why didn't he do it long ago? He had several chances where he could have easily snapped my neck, or driven a silver sword through my heart, but all he did was help me when I needed it and act like I was family.

Perhaps, he was only pretending to like me because of Kiara, and I was too blind to see the pretense.

Even after she died, he didn't make any move against me so I guess he had been planning all of this for a long time.

I looked up as the door of the room opened and Silas walked in dressed in a long scarlet robe.

"You bastard!" I gritted my teeth and struggled to break free from the chains even though I knew it was impossible.

I didn't want him to think I was weak and broken.

"How does your inside feel?" Silas asked, the left corner of his lips raising slightly.

"27 years ago, when my Wife's brothers betrayed her and used her to get a hold of me-" Silas started and he walked to the other end of the room with his fingers intertwined behind his back.

"They has strung me up with chains and a tiny tube was forced into my body through my nostrils," he explained and he turned around on his heels to face me.

"If hell was real, the feeling in me as the silver dust was passed into me was a billion times more painful and torturing. Those darn particles slowly eat away at your inside, devouring your intestines," His facial muscles spasmed as he said those words.

"But of course, they didn't know that I was a True Vampire, hell I didn't know!"

"But when the pain got worse every second and I didn't die causing me to realize who I was-"

"Enough about you, why the hell are you doing this Silas?!" I yelled, struggling within the bondage of the silver chains even though it caused my wrists and ankles to hurt more than they already do.

"You want to know?" Silas asked with a mysterious voice and an almost unnoticeable grin.

"You really want to know?"

"Of course I do!"

"Then ask Kiara when I send you over to where she is!"

What?! He was bitter at me because of Kiara's death.

"Kiara's death is not my fault," I said and he scoffed.

"It hurt me just as much as it hurt you-"

"DON'T! .............. Don't you dare tell me how much hurt her death caused me!"

"Is that why you attacked my pack?!"

"Wait, how do you know so much about my pack structure? Who the hell is your spy!" I asked loudly, knowing there was no way he could have planned the attack so perfectly without info on the pack structure.

"I'm sure you don't want to know," Silas said with a grin. So there was really a spy. Who was it?

"Yes, who the fuck was it?!"

"Kiara. My spy was Kiara."
