Chapter 50: Chapter 50
BELLA
Jayden had been a very good person. He wasn't the cold-hearted person he used to be. He is friendly and always wants to be a better person. But the only thing that had not changed about him was his dislike for his mom. Anytime I tried to bring up a topic about his mom, he kept shunning it off. I was disturbed he might keep developing a dislike for his mom which might turn into hatred.
I knew I would be going back to New York soon, and even if we will keep in touch, it would be difficult to get him to forgive his mom. If I can't do it now that I am close to him, I might not be able to do it again. If we are to get married eventually, I don't want my kids to grow up, having the same dislike for their grandmother just like their dad.
I decided to find a way to bring him and his mom back but I need help and the only one I could ask for help was Ethan. I called him and we sat down to talk. I was able to know more about his mom. And according to Ethan, Jay's mom seems to be a good person. This made me want to help some more. Ethan suggested we see Jay's mom and have a word with her.
When Ethan called her to ask if we could come to Washington, D.C. to talk to her, she offered to come over instead. She said if it's about Jayden, she was ready to travel anywhere in the world. I was moved by her words and was ready to be of help too. All I want is a happy family for Jayden. If seeing his mom against his will, will bring him and his mom back together, I am ready to do it.

Ethan and I were to meet Jayden's mom at the airport. Jayden had gone to the studio outside the school, giving us enough time to go to see his mom. I asked Ethan if Jayden was suspicious about his going out but he told me no. He said he had told him he had an interview and would be missing class for the rest of the day. I was happy Jay had a good friend who is willing to do anything to help him bring his mother back to him.
On our way to the airport, I received a call from my mom that my dad was ill and wanted to see me. At first, I had thought she wanted me home but when I hear her cry, I knew something was wrong. Ethan asked me to go home and get prepared. He would go see her alone. He drove me back home, waited until I was got my things ready. Katie and Diana had to go with me too. Ethan drove us back to the airport.
I called Lucy to let her know we had left for Washington, D.C. I told her what had happened and asked her not to tell Jay. I was going to call him anyway but would not be telling him my reason for going. I do not want him to worry about me. I called him so many times but he wasn't picking. I sent him messages too but he wasn't replying.
I wondered if he was ok but was more bothered about my dad. I was worried something was wrong with him. My mom had not cried in a long time. Hearing her cry made me worry. What could be wrong with him?. Ethan dropped us. We said goodbye and we both promised to keep in touch. I left St. Vincent and returned to Washington, D.C. hoping that Ethan gets to talk to Jay's mom and everything gets better.
**
Getting to Washington, D.C., two cars were parked. One was to take us to the hospital while the other was to take our bags home. We entered the car and headed to the hospital while the other returned home. We got to the hospital. Mom was standing in the hallway. She rushed to us. "Mirabella"
I rolled my eyes. I wasn't ready to argue with her on how many times I had told her to call me Bella and not Mirabella. "Mom". She rushed to hug me. "How is dad?"
"He opened his eyes and the doctor said he's stable"
I sighed. That's a relief. "Thank goodness"
"Dia, Katie, you came along?"
"We couldn't help it" Katie answered
"You know I will always be here," Dia said and mom smiled.
I groaned. "Can I see him?"
Mom nodded. "Sure. But please don't disturb him"
I ignored her and entered the room. Dad was up. I rushed to him and hugged him. "Dad!!"
He frowned. "Mara, did you make Bella come back to Washington, D.C. after I told you not to?"
"I thought you might want to see her" mom answered
"Mara, haven't we talked about this to let her have things done her way"
"You've always said this so many times and want do we get in return?. At 27 she is yet to have a boyfriend, let alone a fiance. When is she getting married?. When is she planning to take over the Anderson Enterprise?"
"That's her to decide"
"That isn't hers to decide. She..."
"Mom!!!" I yelled. She stared at me. "I'm seated here. You both don't have to argue about me. I have said, several times I don't want to take over the Enterprise. Not yet. I..."
"Until your dad give up the ghost? Huh?" Mom yelled
I batted my lashes. "You said?"
"Do you want him dead before you know he needs rest and it is your duty as his only child to take over the company or get married to someone who can"
"Mara, that's enough. I am strong to run the company. Let Bella be"
"Is there something I need to know?" I asked
"What you need to know is that you should come back home and take over the company"
"Mom, I can't come back now. I can't take..."
"Because of Jayden right?"
"It's not because of him, mom. I..."
"If anything happens to your father, I will never forgive you," mom said and stormed out of the room. Dia followed her and I gestured for Katie to leave too.
"You don't have to worry about me, Bella. I will be fine"
"What is wrong with you dad?" I asked
"It's nothing. I told her not to call you but she wouldn't listen"
"Dad, you can't keep lying to me. What's wrong?"
He sighed. "It's my blood pressure. It keeps getting high and the doctor said it might lead to stroke. Bella, your mom is right. I need you to come back to Washington, D.C., and take over the company. I need to rest. I'm getting old. I..."
I held his hand. "Dad, I will take over the company. I can't bear to lose you. But I have to go back to St. Vincent and tidy up things. I..."
"You want to see him, right? I heard he's one of your students. Bella, don't you think that's a bad idea. Considering your status. You..."
"Dad I love him"
"I know you do. But I think you should let him focus on his study. Build himself up. If he loves you, he will come back for you"
I sighed. "Dad..."
"You know I want the best for you right?". I nodded. "Let him prove himself to your mom. She won't let you two be until he can prove himself"
I sighed. "You want me to leave him?"
"No, I want you to let him be"
"Ok, dad". My phone rang and I had to go pick it. It was Ethan. He told me Jay's mom had collapsed and had been rushed to the hospital. He said he was coming over to Washington, D.C.
He said he had been trying to get in touch with Jayden but he isn't picking up. After the call ended, I was bothered about What Jayden's attitude will be when he finds out about this. I wasn't sure how he was going to react yet but I hoped he will be fine.
Some hours later, Jayden called me. I could not tell him about his mom. I only told him Ethan was worried about him. Although I tried to sound ok, I could tell he was worried. I ended the call quickly and returned to my dad. He will be briefing me on everything about the company. I will be taking over the company soon. But I will go see his mom when I leave here. I also need to return to St. Vincent too.
