BELLA

After making sure everyone had left the party hall, I entered the car with Lucy and Katie, while we wait for Dia who seems to have some unfinished business to deal with. Katie focused on her phone and I wonder who she was chatting with. Lucy wasn't saying a word but she kept stealing glances at me. I groaned. "Spill it out, ok?". She furrowed her brows and I sighed. "I know you've something on your mind. Just say it out and stop staring at me. You know how much I hate that look of yours"

She sighed. "I-i... I don't understand why you suddenly stopped the party right before it started. Aren't you happy seeing your students come celebrate with you?"

I rolled my eyes. There was no way I was going to answer to what she had said. I picked my phone to scroll through some pictures. If scrolling through pictures will keep me busy and away from answering her question. I will gladly do.

"Bella?" Lucy called but I gave a deaf ear to her. I heard her sigh and silence returned. After a while, the back door opened and Diana stepped in. She tapped me and I raised my head. "What's up with the silence and who is Katie chatting with" she whispered

I shrugged. "You can ask her"

She frowned. "That's so rude". I ignored her. "Lucy is something wrong with her?"

I couldn't hear what Lucy said and wasn't bothered about it. Dia muttered some words and finally stepped out of the car. She must have moved to the front seat cause I could hear the door opened and then closed. The car started and we headed home. Throughout the drive home, Diana, Katie, and Lucy kept asking me what was wrong and why I had ended the party before the normal time. I had thought they would not ask any question considering how I treated Lucy when she asked. I got tired of hearing them blab and not having a specific reason for bringing the party to an end made things worst. I groaned. Maybe I was tired of seeing Jayden's face or maybe I could not come to terms with the fact that a part of me believed everything Mira said even when Jayden denied it. I couldn't help but wished it was true. I felt really sad when Jayden ran after Mira. It only killed my hope and I had to wonder if I was taking things too far. I tried to ignore them as much as I can. Katie and Lucy gave up soon enough but Dia wouldn't. I have her a smoldering look. "That look of yours doesn't freak me"

I sighed. "Just spear me that, ok?"

She stared at me but said nothing. There was silence. Though I was happy she stopped asking questions. I felt bad the awkwardness was because of me.

"Bella, you haven't told me what's going on with you!!" Dia yelled for the umpteenth time and I groaned.

"Dia, as I said before, nothing is going on with me. Stop making a fuss out of nothing"

She frowned. "You are the one making a fuss out of nothing. I still don't get the reason why you stopped the birthday celebration when you had always wanted one". I mentally rolled my eyes. Why is Dia bent on knowing why I canceled the party?. Why can't she just let it slide?. Why... "I'm talking to you," Dia said jolting me out of my thought.

I frowned. "I don't have any reason ok?. I just...."

"You just what?. Stopped a party without a reason?. That's a lie, !!"

I groaned. "I don't know what else you want me to say. But that's the truth. I..." The knock on the door made me stop talking. I stared at Dia who seems confused as me.

"Are you expecting someone?"

"No. Maybe it's Lucy or Katie"

"But they left the house some minutes ago so I could talk to you"

I batted my lashes. "Wait, You're the reason they left?. I thought they went to the grocery store to get some groceries"

She chuckled. "Not really. I just wanted us to talk. I knew you won't talk with the rest around. So..."

"So you what?. Made them leave the house so you can draw out words from my mouth?"

She sighed. "Come on. We both know how much you find it difficult to talk to many people about what's wrong with you"

I stood up. There is no point telling Dia what she did was wrong. I moved closer to the door. "You ain't getting a word from my mouth"

She smiled. "Let's watch and see"

I ignored her and opened the door. My eyes widened in shock as I kept staring at the person in front of them. Did I say, person?. Another person popped his head and my eyes widened more in shock. In as much as I wanted to utter a word, I couldn't. "What's going on?" Dia asked. I batted my lashes trying to gather myself together. He was the last person I had thought of seeing today. What is he doing here?. He wasn't supposed to be here?. "Bella, are you ok?. Why are you rooted to a spot?" Dia asked in a concerned tone.

I turn to stare at her and also back to the two guys standing in front of me. "W-what are you doing here, Nathan? And why are you here with him?" I asked as I tried to gather up some words.

Nathan smiled. "To wish a friend a happy birthday"

"And him?" I pointed at the other

He smirked and I groaned. I knew what he was going to say won't be making any sense. "Don't you miss me, baby?"

I frowned, this time getting my courage back. "I wasn't talking to you, jerk"

He frowned. "You shouldn't call me a jerk baby". He smiled and I groaned. "Don't you miss me?. I miss you so much"

I glared. "Don't let me repeat myself. What the heck are you doing here?"

He smiled. "I'm here to wish my baby girl a happy birthday and I brought you..."

"You?!!" Dia said. She was standing very close to me and I wondered when she came close to me without me knowing.

He smiled. "Good to see you, again, Dia"

Diana frowned. "You've got no right to call my name, Jake?"

Jake smirked. "And what if I do?"

"I will...."

I groaned. This isn't the time for Dia to exchange words with him. All I want now is for him to get out of this place this very minute. I raised my hand. "Dia, this isn't time for this"

"Jake, I don't know how you got here but I want you out of here this very minute"

"Relax girl. Don't you think you're been too harsh on him?. I know you're so angry he came late. I stopped him from coming. I wanted to come too and I needed to get you some nice gifts" Nathan said

I batted my lashes. He is not aware that we are not together again?. She did tell him how he broke up with me over the phone?. I folded my hands. "He didn't tell you we broke up?"

Nathan furrowed his brows. "You guys did what?"

"You heard me. We broke up over a year ago. And you won't believe he did it over the phone. Like a test message"

Nathan frowned. "He didn't tell me all this". He turned to face Jake. "Why didn't you tell me this?"

Jake scratched his hair. "I thought she must have forgiven me by now. I thought she should have gotten over it and forgive me"

I hissed. "I have not only gotten over the incident, but I have also gotten over you too!!!"

"I thought you still have a thin for me?"

Dia clapped her hands. "Good thing you find out now that she doesn't. You can as well leave"

"I wasn't talking to you"

"You don't have to. Just in case you don't know, she's got a cuter guy to deal with"

Jake frowned. "Bella won't date someone else. She loves me too much to want to"

"What if she doesn't love you like you thought she does?" Someone said

I turned to see Jayden. What is he doing here and why is he getting involved in this?. "Who are you?" Jake asked

Jayden folded his hand. "Who do you think I am to her?. A friend? Her boyfriend? Or maybe her lover?"

What is Jayden doing?. I stared at Dia and she seems to be enjoying the show. "A friend I guess. You can't be..."

"Sorry to burst your bubbles. That's her lover or boyfriend. Anyone you wish to call him" Dia answered

I stood rooted to a spot not knowing how to come into the matter on the ground. Nathan seems confused too. "He can't be..."

I can't?. I frowned. What does he mean by he can't be?. "Well, he already is"

"That can't be..."

Jayden smirked. Maybe this will make you believe".I walked closer to me and I furrowed my brows. What does he have in mind?. Everyone stared at us wondering what Jayden plan on doing. He bent a bit and I froze. Hope he isn't planning to kiss me?. As if reading my thought, he crashed his lips on mine and I heard gasps from the rest. At first, I froze but knowing how important it was for Jake to believe this, I relaxed and kissed him back. We can go with the flow now and have a better conversation later!!!.
