Chapter 29: Chapter 29
BELLA
I went to the bar to get the glasses of wine. After getting the glasses of wine, I sat down to wait for Diana who doesn't seem to be coming soon. I took the tray and return to meet Katie. She frowned when she saw me. "Where the heck have you been?" She yelled
I chuckled. "Sorry. I..."
"Gosh. I can't believe you left me here all alone. Where is Diana?"
"Does someone miss me that much?" Diana asked
Katie scoffed. "Miss you?. I did not miss you"
Diana groaned. "Whatever"
I rolled my eyes. "Where have you been?" I whispered. She ignored me and sat down. "Dia"
She picked a glass up and sipped from it. "Where..."
She scoffed. "You're asking me where I was?"
I rolled my eyes. "It isn't like I don't know where you were. I just..."
She groaned. "You just what?. Can you even hear yourself?. Why act like you don't know where I went to? Huh?. You knew I was with Mira while you were busy with Jayden"
Katie furrowed her brows. "Jayden?. Who is Jayden?"
"He isn't someone you should worry about, Katie" I answered
Dia frowned. "What do you mean by he isn't some she should worry about?"
I sighed. "Dia, you know it's nothing. I mean Jayden and I have nothing going on between us"
"You both haven't answered my question. Who is this Jayden, you both have been talking about?" Katie asked
I groaned. I couldn't understand why Katie was bent on knowing who Jayden is and why Dia isn't helping matters. There was no point talking about this. I wished they could take their mind off the topic and let us think of something worth it. Katie stared at me with suspicion, while Diana kept a straight face. I sighed. "Like I said before, Jayden..."
Diana scoffed. "He's her student. Jayden is her student. The one she has feelings for". She rolled her eyes. "What am I even saying?. He is the one who rejected her love"
Katie chuckled. "Oh, I see"
I frowned. Jayden might have rejected my love but Dia didn't have to say it. She shouldn't be the one to tell Katie. That should be my business, not hers. "Dia, he did not reject my love, ok?"
"Well, it doesn't look like it. If he doesn't reject your love why is he with Mira and not you?" Dia asked
Katie batted her lashes. "You mean he is with someone else now?"
Dia nodded. "She looks so cute, you know. Bella couldn't hide her jealousy when she saw them together"
I frowned. "I wasn't jealous"
"You were. Did you see the look on your face when they were chatting?. If looks killed, Jayden had been sprinkling Mira's ashes in the ocean tomorrow morning"
I scowled. "I don't get you, Dia. What are you trying to prove here?"
"That you still love him even after he rejected you"
I groaned. "I...". I sighed. "I shouldn't be having this conversation in the first place"
Dia chuckled. "Of course. You knew everything I had said was true. Why should you be having this argumentative conversation?"
I brush my hair backward. "What you have been saying, none of them is true".
"I am but lying. You know everything I have said is true" Dia answered, folding her arms.
Katie listened to our argument with keen interest and I frowned. She should be saying something and not just stare at us like some comic. I flicked my finger across her face and she flinched. I groaned. "Katie, what have you been thinking of?"
She batted her lashes. "Huh?"
I frowned. "Why are you looking that way?. Like you've seen a ghost or something?"
She shrugged. "Nothing. I must have been lost in thought"
Diana scoffed. "Lost in thought, you said?. Who the heck are you thinking of?. Or rather who the heck have you been thinking of?"
I groaned. I was getting filled up with the conversation. I was a bit happy Diana had decided to turn the table around. I won't have to bother about her asking me some questions since all her attention is now focused on Katie. She won't even remember we were having a discussion before. I felt relaxed for a while listening to Katie trying to defend herself. I laughed. I couldn't help myself. We both know Dia can be crazy at times. And when she is keen on finding out about something, she won't give up until she gets it. Katie stared at me and I rolled my eyes. I knew she wanted me to help her out but I wasn't ready to get involved in their conversation and neither was I ready to start a new one. I had to ignore her and picked up my glass of wine. I sipped from it and smiled. It's good to be free. Free from Diana's constant argument. I smiled.
"Bella, why are you smiling?" Dia asked
I raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't smiling" I answered. I couldn't accept the fact that I was smiling. I knew if I do, Dia would want to know why I was smiling and that will lead us back to Jayden.
She scoffed. "You were laughing. I saw you"
I groaned. I wonder if Dia ever gets tired of talking or arguing. I decided to change the topic. "So, where are we going to?. I mean after we leave here"
She hissed. "Always trying to change the topic to suit herself" she mumbled.
I chuckled. "Come on. Where are we going next?. Don't you think we need to have some fun?"
She scoffed. "Like you know what fun is all about?"
I groaned. "Dia..."
"I think I know why Jayden rejected your love"
I frowned. Why did she suddenly bring Jayden's name into the conversation again?. I stared at Katie and she chuckled. It was her time to relax and watch me defend myself. "I don't understand you, Dia"
"I know why Jayden rejected your love but what I don't know is how he rejected you"
I furrowed my brows. "I still don't get you"
She frowned. "You don't have to pretend you don't get what I have been saying. How did the rejection happen?. I want to know and I am sure Katie cares to know too. Or am I wrong, Katie?"
Katie chuckled. "You are right. I need to know how the rejection happened. And why you ended up in a hospital"
Dia nodded in agreement. "We need to know if he's worth it. I mean if he's worth your love or not"
I batted my lashes. Did she just say they needed to know if he was worth my love?. I groaned. I should have suspected this early enough. I frowned. I was beginning to understand what Dia was trying to do. All she wanted was to make me spill out some words. She wanted me if possible, to give out every detail of what had happened between Jayden and me that night he rejected my love, so she would know what to do next. I rolled my eyes. "Dia, I don't know what you are trying to do here and I don't care!!". I stood up. "I am done with this conversation and I am leaving"
I could hear Dia and Katie chuckled, but I ignored them. "That way leads to the bar, Bella" Katie yelled but I ignored her.
"It also leads to the place Jayden and Mira are sitting". I stopped moving and turned. "That's a lie?"
Dia pointed. "Look they are coming in this direction". I turned to see Mira and Jayden walking in my direction. I froze.
Katie chuckled. "Are you coming to sit down or you tell Jayden why you are going in their direction?"
"If you sit here you have to tell us every detail of what happened that night. So you either choose tk tell us what had happened that night or tell Jayden how jealous you are seeing Mira with him. I am sure Mira will like to meet you" Dia added. I groaned and she chuckled. "The ball is in your court baby girl"
I frowned. I do not want to meet with Mira. Not yet. I don't think I might be able to control myself. I groaned. Telling Dia what had happened that night isn't an option either. Whichever way I will have to explain. But telling Dia and Katie what had happened is better than facing Mira. I sighed and sat down. "I will tell you what happened that night"
Dia chuckled. "Every detail?"
I rolled my eyes. "Every detail"
"You won't leave a stone untouched?"
I groaned. "Like I said every detail"
