JAYDEN

"What's wrong with you?" Ethan yelled.

"Don't you dare turn the table around" I fired back

He scoffed. "I am not turning the table around. You are the one who is making a fuss out of nothing"

I rolled my eyes. "You haven't answered my question. What's going on between you two?. Last time, you invited her to that baseball fame and now she's calling you!!". He ignored me and sat down. "I'm talking to you!!"

"Jayden, can you stop yelling, please. As I told you before there is nothing between us". I scoffed. "What would you think that way?. I thought you said you do not want her?"

I frowned. "Does that give you the audacity to go after her?"

"I am not going after her!!"

"Well, it doesn't look like it"

He groaned. "You should learn to control your emotion, Jay. Your jealousy is becoming too obvious"

I raised my eyebrows. "I am not jealous!!"

"You are. And that's because you like her but you just won't accept it"

I scoffed. "I..."

"You have to apologize to miss Bella"

I frowned. "I won't do that"

"You will. I'm sure she heard everything we said"

I groaned. "You did not end the call?"

He frowned. "You did not let me. You were yelling"

I rolled my eyes. What will she think of me, now?. I sighed. "You should call her"

He rolled his eyes. "I won't. I can't even do that. Not after the way, you embarrassed me"

I furrowed my brows. "What are you trying to say?"

He sighed. "The only thing I can do for you is giving you her number"

"I am not going to call her with my number"

He rolled his eyes. "Suit yourself, Jay. All I know is you have to apologize"

I groaned. What have I gotten myself into?

After thinking for a long time, I finally took Bella's number from Ethan. I picked my phone to call her but had to drop my phone back on the table. I have done that numerous times now. I groaned. I feel so awkward thinking about what to say to Bella when she picks the call. So many thoughts ran through my mind. I stroked my hair and sighed. Maybe I should wait for a while before calling her. I picked my phone and lay on the bed. Ethan walked in. "You're back?"

He sat beside me. "Yeah. Things did not go as plan"

I rolled my eyes. "What happened?"

He sighed. "She didn't show up"

I busted into series of laughter. "Are you been serious?"

He frowned. "Does it look like I am joking?"

I chuckled. "Well, it's a surprise. I thought you said no girl can..."

"Are you supposed to be laughing at me?"

I chuckled. "Sorry, I couldn't help it"

He rolled his eyes. "Have you called her?. What did she say?"

I groaned. "Chill. You don't have to bombard me with questions"

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever" he mumbled. "What did she say?"

I sighed. "I haven't called her yet"

He frowned. "Why?. What are you still waiting for?"

"Nothing"

He scoffed. "You can't call a girl but you can laugh at me because a girl refuse to show up"

I rolled my eyes. "It's different"

"There is nothing different"

I laughed. "You don't have to pour your disappointment on me"

He scoffed. "I am not pouring my disappointment on you"

"You are"

"Whatever" he mumbled and I chuckled. "Just call her"

"I won't do that"

"You will, now". He pulled my phone from me and I sighed. "Take, it's ringing"

I groaned. "I don't want to talk to her"

He frowned. "You are"

"I..."

"Hello" Bella's voice came up. I batted my lashes. "Hello?"

I rolled my eyes. "Bella?"

"Yes?"

"It's Jayden"

"O-oh!. Jayden, how have you been?"

I sighed. "I-i am fine. I-i just want to apologize"

"For what?"

"For yelling over the phone. I know you overheard my conversation with Ethan about you. I don't want you thinking negatively"

She sighed. "It's nothing"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I have to go. Bye"

The call ended and I dropped my phone. Ethan stared at me. "What did she say?"

I rolled my eyes and rested on the wall. "Well, she said it's nothing"

He furrowed his brows. "That was all?". I nodded and he frowned. "And you accepted it?"

"What do you expect?"

"You're supposed to press further until she tells you she had forgiven you"

"I did not offend her"

"Of course you did. You accused us of having a thing with each other"

"That's because I thought that was right"

"That's the reason you should apologize"

"I..."

"You're going to call her again"

I frowned. "I won't do that"

"You will"

"What's your problem?"

"My problem is you. Your refusal to apologize is frustrating"

I scoffed and stood up. "I won't apologize. You can go to hell for all I care!!"

He groaned. "You're so rude!!"

The class was noisy as usual with so many girls drooling at me as usual. I ignored them, my eyes fixed on the door. Ethan chuckled. "Gosh. Do you know you're a popular dude?"

I rolled my eyes but said nothing. I was anxious to see Bella walk through the door. Not because I miss her but because I wanted to see her reaction. Ever since u called her, two days ago. I had been feeling awkward. Ethan tapped me. "Hey, I am talking to you"

I rolled my eyes. What did you say?"

He scoffed. "What the heck are you thinking of?"

I groaned. "I am not thinking, ok?"

He nodded. "I believe you. But why have you been staring at the door?"

"Nothing. I...". Bella walked in and I batted my lashes.

"I see. You've been waiting for Miss Bella"

I rolled my eyes. "I wasn't"

"Then why did you stop talking when she walked in?"

"I... Nothing"

He chuckled. "I understand"

I scoffed. "What are you trying to say?"

"Nothing"

I frowned. "You..." Bella stared at me and I kept shut. Without taking her eyes off me, she walked in my direction. My heart began to beat fast. She stopped walking and I breathed a sigh of relief. And just when I thought she wasn't going to come close to me, she walked right to my seat. She dropped her books on my desk and I froze. Holding my breath, I watched her open one of the books. She paused. "Who can tell me the last topic.". She pointed at someone and I released the breath I was holding. The girl stood up but Bella waved her hand. "Never mind, Tacy". She stared at me. "Jayden, can you tell the class all you know about the last topic". I batted my lashes. Why did she have to call me amid all the students?. She folded her arms. "Jayden, don't keep us waiting"
