BELLA

I was surprised to see Jayden acting all strange. Though I was chatting with Ethan, I couldn't help but noticed how Jayden was acting. At first, I felt he was just being his cold-hearted self. But when he stood up and Ethan asked him where he was going and he made mention of Ethan having fun with me, I knew something was wrong. He even called me, Miss Bella. I was shocked. Jayden never called me, Miss not even when he was in a good mood. He only calls me, Miss when he has no other option. Maybe when another lecturer is present. I widened my eyes in shock. I watched him leave, my eyes still widened in shock. Ethan never bothered to persuade him to stay. After he left, I turned to face Ethan. "What's going on, here?" I asked, surprise still evident in my voice

Ethan shrugged. "I don't know. I think he is not in a good mood". I rolled my eyes. There wasn't any evidence that he was angry. What I saw was pure jealousy. "You shouldn't bother, miss. He would be fine"

I sighed. As much as I wanted to believe he would be fine, I couldn't. "Are you sure?"

Ethan nodded. "Trust me, miss. Jay will be fine". I sighed. I hope he is.

"Bella!!" Lucy called. I raised my head and batted my lashes.

I was reading a novel and Lucy had told me, like an hour ago that she was going out on a date. I furrowed my brows. "Are you not suppose to me on a date?"

She sighed and sat down on the couch. "He never showed up"

I frowned. What sort of a guy is that?. "He never showed up?" She nodded. "Didn't you made arrangements together?"

"We made arrangements together, he just decided not to show up. I don't know why. He never gave me any reason and when I tried to call him, his number was unreasonable". She sniffed. "Why can't he just tell me he doesn't want the date?"

I stood up and went to sit beside her. "Lucy, I don't want you thinking about what had happened, ok?. I know a better man will come"

She sniffed. "When?"

"Very soon, dear". I pulled her into a hug. "You shouldn't cry over a guy. They are not worth it"

She released herself from the hug. "Thanks"

Lucy went to take her bath while I sat down to think. I don't understand why the so-called guy would leave Lucy stranded. I couldn't get the reason behind it. Lucy is a great lady. For the last few months, about six months I have known her. I could tell she's good. Why would someone want to break the heart of an innocent lady like her?. "The same reason, they break yours," my subconscious mind said.

I rolled my eyes. Mine is different from hers. For me, they had always wanted my money. They never really do love me. All they wanted was what they would get from me. But for Lucy, she has no money to offer. She has no fame. She's just a beautiful decent woman looking for true love. Looking for someone who will love her for who she is. So why would he leave her stranded?. "Maybe he realized she wasn't good enough for him" my subconscious mind pressed further.

I frowned. He doesn't know that before he made plans for the date?. I think he is a jerk. Only a jerk will want to leave Lucy. Lucy walked out of the bathroom, her eyes puffy. She hasn't taken her bath yet and I wondered why?. I stood up. "Don't tell me you're still crying"

She sniffed. "He called"

I furrowed my brows. "You went to the bathroom with your phone?". She nodded and I sighed. "What did he say?"

She sniffed. "H-he, h-he said he's sorry. He said he couldn't bring himself low to go on a date with me". I could see tears already dripping down her face. I frowned. I hate to see her cry. "H-he said I am not classic enough for him". Lucy isn't classic enough?. Is he kidding or been serious?. I hissed. He must be out of his senses!!. Lucy sniffed. "D-do you think I'm not classic enough?. Am I not beautiful?. I'm a nerd right?"

I rolled my eyes. "Look, Lucy. You're classic. You're beautiful. You're not a nerd. You're the nicest person I have ever met. He is just too blind to see that. Only a stupid person will see you as not been classic, ok?"

She smiled and sat down on the bed. "I-i know you're trying to make me happy. I understand. But you don't have to lie to me"

I sat down beside her. "I'm not lying to you. There is no reason why I should. You are classic. You're beautiful and we will prove that to him"

She furrowed her brows. "W-what do you mean?"

I held her hand. "Trust me. We are going to show him, how much of a beauty you are. Not just him but every other guy who had made you feel bad. And those who had plans to make you feel bad"

She smiled and hugged me. "Thanks, Bella. I trust you". I hugged her back. Seeing Lucy cry, I realized I wasn't the only one who is finding it difficult to get true love. I had thought at first that rich ladies are the only ones who don't get true love because of their money, but right now, I have realized that anyone can be a victim of heartbreak. Just like Lucy is a victim now. I sighed. It hurts so bad to see her cry. But just like I have promised, I will prove to him that hurting Lucy was a great mistake. She raised her head. "Have you been able to talk to him?". I furrowed my brows and she smiled. "I mean Jayden. I know you're bothered that he hasn't been in school for some days now.". I rolled my eyes. She's right. I haven't seen or heard from him in the last couple of days, since the incident at the baseball game. And I had been so bothered about him. "I think he likes you too". I batted my lashes.

"You said what?"

She smiled. "I know you love him, Bella. And I think he loves you too. That explains the reason he felt so jealous seeing you talk to Ethan"

I sighed. There is no point hiding it from Lucy anymore. "I love him, Lucy. But you know, he's my student. It's prohibited "

She smiled. "That shouldn't be your problem now. I think you should confirm if the feeling is mutual"

I shook my head. "Lucy, I..."

She held my hand. "Trust me on this. Just confirm first"

I sighed. "If you say so"

She nodded. "It's the best"

I picked up my phone so that I could call Ethan and ask after Jayden. That would be the first step. Ethan picked at the second ring. "Hello"

"Hello?" I heard from the other side not from Ethan but from the voice I wasn't expecting to hear. It was Jayden who picked the call. "Are you there?"

I got confused and wasn't sure of what next to say. "Hello, miss Bella. Sorry, Jayden had to pick my call" Ethan said. He must have taken the phone from Jayden.

I sighed. "It's nothing". I wanted to say something when I heard Jayden's voice.

"I shouldn't pick your call, because it's Bella?" Jayden yelled

"Stop making a fuss out of nothing" Ethan answered

"I'm making a fuss out of nothing right?. Why would she call you? Huh?. What's going on between you two?"

I could hear Ethan sighed. "There is nothing between us"

Jayden scoffed. "You want me to believe there is nothing between you two?. Why do you have her number in the first place?"

I couldn't bear to listen to their conversation again, so I cut the call. I stood up and brushed my hair backward, frustrated. I have never thought of ever been in a situation like this. I groaned. If Jayden thinks there is something between Ethan and me, it will be difficult to let him know how I feel about him!!!.
