Chapter 66: Chapter 66
It's been more than a week that Adrian and Lily haven't slept in the same room while Lily was sleepless. Even during the grand Christmas and New year party of the family, the two didn't talk to each other.
Finally, she decided to talk things out him once she reached home.
When Lily returned home, she found Adrian in the walk in closet unbuttoning his shirt. She walked towards him but he ignored her presence and continued to unbutton his shirt then walked out of the closet.
As he walked to the bathroom, she followed him there quietly.
"Will you leave or you want me to take off my pants in front of you?", he asked in a threatening tone but she didn't budge so he proceeded to unbuckle his belt then the zipper of the pants.
She kept her eyes glued on his face although the man in front of her was stark naked right now. She didn't think he would really get naked in front of her but she kept her shocked expression concealed.
He walked into the shower without saying a single word. As soon as the door of the shower closed, the glasses turned blurry and Lily let out a sigh but she didn't move from her place.
After a five minutes, Adrian came out of the shower wearing a white towel wrapped around his waist and found her standing her but he ignored her once again. He walked to the vanity and dried his hairs then left.
Lily came out and followed him to the closet like some ghost but he didn't seem affected.
He took off his towel and put of his grey sweatpants then turned to leave but that's when she finally spoke.
"Will you keep ignoring me?"
He didn't answer and walked out in the bedroom with her following him behind.
"Answer me", she demanded but he was quiet.
She grabbed his hand when he was about to leave the room and quickly stood against the door. "Answer me or you can't leave."
Adrian frowned and went to sit on the bed where she once again followed him and demanded for an answer. Finally he gave in as he answered her.
"It's a loveless marriage anyways so it doesn't matter if I stay in the same room as you or not."
Lily felt guilty when he said the words she used on him once. Seeing that's she wasn't going to speak, Adrian stood up but she held his hand and took a deep breath in before she asked, "If it's a loveless marriage then it shouldn't affect you. Why are you getting mad?"
Adrian looked at the little woman who was sitting on the bed bent on offending him all the time but he calmed himself.
"I don't know."
Lily nodded but she didn't let go of his hand and said in a serious tone, "I'm not Lily Sheng."
Adrian gave a confused look when he heard her say that. "The body belongs to Lily Sheng but I'm not Lily. I'm Jennifer, late wife of Samuel Andres", she said each word in a clear tone.
Adrian did not show any emotion or ask her anything but there was slight pain in his heart.
If she was late wife of Samuel that means she loved that person and not him, right? Because from what he heard, she loved her husband dearly and never looked at any other man but then why did she agree to marry him?
There was a puzzled expression on Adrian's face but he waited for her continue because he knew her words would answer all the questions in his mind. He quietly sat next to her as she continued to talk.
"When I died, I incarnated in this body one year to my death. That time I was still madly in love with Sam but a few days later, grandfather found that I'm mentally unwell so he got Aiden to treat me who told him about my condition...", she told him everything till the end of her treatment.
"So you're still in love with Samuel?", he asked as he felt his heart was being squeezed but when she shook her head, he relaxed a bit.
"I was hypnotized in my last life. Even if Sam did anything to me or even killed me, I'd never be able to hate him and would always end up loving him no matter what. So when I incarnated, I was still in love with him until Aiden hypnotized me to break through the previous one as my condition was deteriorating and there were no signs of improvement. Once the hypnosis was broken, I ended up losing a lot of feelings for Sam yet I loved him a bit since it can't be denied that I did fall for him in my last life but then when I saw him with other woman in the auction, I lost that bit of feeling for him. I was a dumb person in my last life to not believe those women who kept telling me he's a cheater."
She laughed at herself when she said the last part. "And you know what? My death wasn't even a suicide, it was a muder but they made it seem like a suicide by creating such image in my mind."
Adrian was quiet all along he allowed her to talk her heart out.
"Now if you want to divorce me and want to leave me, it's fine", she said and was about to leave but he held her hand and pulled her to sit on his laps. For some reason, Lily didn't refuse his touch as she quietly sat on his laps.
"You're so brave to have poured out everything you had in your heart in front of me but you're such a silly little panda", he said as he gently caressed her hairs. "How could you think that I'd leave you just because you're not Lily Sheng?"
Lily looked into his eyes that held only sincerity. His warm hand gently pulled her waist closer to him while he gave a small smile.
"I didn't marry you because I thought you were Lily Sheng. I like you for who you are. I couldn't love Jennifer in the past since she was married but see, you ended up in my arms in his life and I promise you that I won't let you go away from me."
Lily gave a confused look on his words since she didn't understand him and asked, "What?"
"Nothing, I love you", he said and kissed on her forehead.
"You won't divorce me?", Lily asked pointing a finger at herself. "Why should I?", he questioned. "I don't know. Maybe because I offend you all the time or maybe because of my past, I guess."
He chuckled and pecked on her cheek as he spoke gently, "Such a cute little wife of mine. It doesn't matter what your past was, you are mine now."
"And you?", she blurted out.
"What?", he gave a confused look.
"Are you mine?", she asked looking into his eyes with seriousness. "What do you think?", he questioned while the corner of his lips slightly curved up in a smirk.
"I don't know", she said blankly. Adrian sighed.
"I'm yours, my little wife."
She looked into his eyes deeply before she let out a chuckle and stood up to go to the bathroom. "You're not bad."
"By the way, I've one question. Why do you call me panda?", she asked curiously since the day he returned her mobile, he would randomly call her panda.
"Because you are a panda."
"What kind of answer is that?" She rolled her eyes to which he simply shrugged. Suddenly she remembered her mobile cover and asked, "Is it because of my panda cover?"
"Maybe."
"Ohh."
She didn't say anything and went to the bathroom to freshen up then came out with a towel wrapped around her body. She thought he must have went to his study room but to her surprise he was sitting on the bed staring at her.
Lily blinked a few times before she rushed to the walk in closet. Once she came out, Adrian told her he was leaving for a business trip in two days.
"Will you return till 16th January?", she asked with expectant eyes. "Why?", he questioned with his eyes glued to his phone.
"It's my birthday and I'm going to reveal that I'm the owner of JenLi Interiors", she said and he immediately looked up. "Then why do you want me to come?", he asked looking into her eyes.
Lily did not retract her gaze and instead she said looking straight into his eyes, "It feels safe with you around and I want you to be present when I announce to the world."
When she didn't get any answer from him, she leaned forward and hugged him while she pressed her soft cheek against his hard chest feeling the warmth of his body.
"You give me a sense of security and that I can rely on you."
Adrian smiled softly hearing her words and kept his mobile aside then wrapped one arm around her waist while the other hand caressed her hairs gently. He kissed the top of her hairs and whispered to her in a firm tone.
"I'll protect you and keep you safe."
Lily nodded as she hugged him tighter.
