Chapter 60: Chapter 60

Lily felt her heart break when she saw the man who was now kissing the woman in his arm. What made her more upset was the woman in his arms was none other than Angel.

The Angel D'Souza who called her sister.

The Angel D'Souza who assured her once that she will never ever love Samuel again.

Hah! Never love? She was kissing the man right now.

Lily turned to the man who had come to tell her to quit bidding and said coldly, "Go tell your master to give up. I won't give up since I like it. Tell him I'll pay him double the price if he gives up."

The man who had come already left when he heard what she said and told his master.

Samuel turned to look at Lily and glared at her direction unable to see her face. "Tell her since my woman likes it, she has to give up. I don't like to give up", Sam ordered.

The man came to tell Lily but she ignored him and instead she raised her card and spoke in a loud and clear voice, "Fifty billion."

The bid that was on fifteen billion had been raised to directly fifty billion!!

Everyone turned to look at Lily with their eyes widened. Lily had a cold look on her face and did not seem to back down.

"This woman! I will kill her. Who is she to go up against my orders?!", Sam spoke through gritted teeth and was ready to kill Lily but Angel held him back. "Leave it. You can buy me something else", she said in a sweet tone.

Sam didn't seem to calm down so she kissed him on his lips which Lily saw and sneered.

'Didn't you say you'd never fall in love again if I leave?'

The mc announced Lily as the winner and sent the bracelet to be packed.

The auction ended and everyone started leaving towards the hall where they were supposed to have dinner.

"Who is this big shot?", Sam wondered. "I don't know. Maybe someone's mistress", Angel said looking towards the direction where Lily was still sitting.

Since the identities of any bidder was not revealed, they had no idea who bought what piece. Everyone were given a number card and Sam was sure he saw the red card in her hand which was a VVIP card that even he couldn't get his hand on. Only two of those cards were sold and they were immediately bought by two big shots.

Sam was really curious what this woman looked like for her man to spend fifty billion dollors on her. Like she must be really out of the world beauty for him to spend so much on her or maybe she was too good in bed.

He tried looking at the woman's face but it was too dark in the last rows.

The man who was sitting in the corner frowned when he saw Sam looking at Lily's direction. He wanted to go there and snap his head off his neck.

The man's assistant who was sitting next to him felt the cold aura and wished for the other man to stop looking. He just so wanted to go there and beat all the senses in the man's head for angering his boss.

He felt grateful when Lily stood up and walked away.

Sam who was waiting to see her was stunned when he saw Lily walking down with a cold look.

Lily did not wait to have dinner and picked her jewellery then gave them to her bodyguards before she started leaving.

As soon as she left, Samuel and Angel came out but couldn't find her.

At Sheng mansion,

When Lily came home, she went to the old man's room to show him what she got. He was happy to see that Lily got what she wanted.

She even told him the encounter she had at the auction which made the old man really unhappy.

"I don't love him anymore. The only bit of love that I had is over, grandfather. I agree that after my death, he had all the rights to be with any woman but the woman I called sister and was his ex is the one with him now. I can't believe that they wouldn't even have anything when I was alive."

As she spoke, she felt as if a weight was lifted off her chest. For some reason, she didn't feel any pain when she started thinking of ending all her feeling of the man she once loved.

Probably because he did a lot of things in the past which hurt her and now seeing this with her own eyes, she was sure that all the accusations were true in the past.

In her last life, three women accused Sam to be their man but the latter denied and since she trusted him and was so in love due to the hypnosis, she just kept neglecting everything and made many enemies because of him.

She would feel the pain of being lied to but yet she never said much in order not to hurt 'the love of her life'. She felt that those women were the ones who said the truth while the guy she loved must have lied all along in everything.

Lily felt she was too naive and stupid back then but she also knew that it was because of the hypnosis that she couldn't leave him.

Otherwise, she was a person who would leave someone if they lied to her about something big.

Because of him, she left her parents, friends and even her brother and sister. All because of him that she ended up dead.

Maybe if she had never met that person, she would still be alive as Jennifer and be with her parents.

She suddenly missed her mother but alas, she couldn't meet her now.

What an irony of life!

Lily sighed deeply.

Upon seeing his granddaughter like that, it broke the old man's heart. He hugged her and gently patted her head.

It was rare for the old man to be so warm but the old man really doted on this child and loved her dearly.

After talking for a while, Lily went back to her room and freshened up. It was too cold and given she was wearing that dress, she felt more cold which was also a reason why she didn't stay out for too long.

She changed into her comfortable grey thick fleece pajamas and a grey slipper which looked more like shoes. After she was done changing, she was called to have dinner.

The old man didn't mind that she was eating in her pajamas given that it was just the two of them and she didn't have to look presentable.

"Xiao Li, our family is invited to have dinner tomorrow with the Collins. Come home early if you go to the company, I'll be waiting for you", the old man said each word slowly and calmly.

Lily caught the word 'family' and instantly asked, "Will others be present too?"

The old man nodded to which she sighed deeply. She didn't mind going over to the Collins mansion to have dinner but she didn't seem to find it pleasant that her family would be coming too.

She wasn't fond of the Sheng family much except the old master but she couldn't do anything since they were her family now. She had to bear with them even if they were unbearable to her.

She had dinner in silence then headed upstairs to her room.

The entire night she couldn't sleep properly because of nightmares resulting in dark circles under her eyes.

During breakfast the old master asked if she was fine to which she simply nodded.

Since it was Saturday, she decided to stay back home after she confirmed from Kylie that she didn't have any important meeting today. She had one small meeting which she did through video conference.
