Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Soon it was December and the auction day came and all the wealthy ladies were well prepared to buy the pieces they liked. Most of the people in the auction were a couple.

There were women who couldn't enter the auction so they accompanied their rich lovers. It was quite normal in the high society for men to accompany their mistress or girlfriends.

Before the auction, there was a small exhibition and a party but Lily did not attend it and instead she came directly during the auction.

Wearing a sequin below knee length off shoulder dress with high slit up on the right, she looked sexy. The dress hugged her body flaunting her sexy figure. The pair of black stilletos she wore made her look even taller.

Her face was so beautiful that she didn't need any makeup so she applied only eyeliner on her eyes and coral red lipstick. Her long hairs were curled and let down giving her a sexy look while the accessories on her body included only a bracelet and small earrings.

Sitting in the corner of the auction room, she gave off mysterious and powerful aura. Everyone who entered the room did not see her since there were only dim lights and she was at the back in the second last row.

Lily felt bored so she took out her phone and started reading a novel. It was about a girl whose fiance breaks off the engagement and then she marries a random man.

Lily chuckled when she read a funny part which was noticed by a man who was sitting in the last row about four seats away from her. His expression were blank and no one in this world could tell what he was thinking but at that moment, his lips curved up.

After about twenty minutes, the auction was starting so Lily put away her phone.

The mc introduced himself and welcomed everyone then the owner of the brand came to introduce himself. After that, the mc announced that they were going to present the first piece that's when Lily got excited.

"The piece is a ruby necklace. It's called 'Red Ombre'. The starting price is five million", the mc announced and Lily gave a disinterested look. She wasn't interested in necklace.

The man at the back noticed the change in her expression and rested his arm on the armrest. He knew it would be a long evening.

One by one more pieces were shown but none of the necklace or earring or anything grabbed Lily's attention. Then the mc announced that now they would introduce three couple rings but Lily felt bored.

The first pair of ring was a extravagant one. The female ring had a huge blue diamond surrounded by several dark blue diamonds while the male ring had similar big blue diamond. It was called 'Blue nile'. The starting price of the collection was four hundred thousand dollars. It was sold for $810,000.

Lily found it too old fashioned and showed no interest feeling it was not worth.

The next pair of ring was made of gold. The female one had floral design with some diamonds embedded on them while the male one had similar design in square shape. The name was 'Rich Love'. It was worth five hundred thousand dollars. It was sold for $760,000.

Lily still felt it wasn't beautiful and waited to see the last pair. Not like she was going to buy since she didn't have a lover currently.

When the next pair was displayed, Lily who had her head resting on the back of her armchair sat up straight. Her eyes stuck to the piece and lips parted.

It was a simple yet elegant pair of platinum rings. The two of the ring had similar design and it would be hard to differentiate which was was for male and which was for male but if one looked carefully there were small verses written inside the body of the ring, 'May you be mine till eternity, wife/hubby'. The body had simple rose imprints with an infinity design.

"This pair is called 'Eternal'. It's a single piece in the entire world. The worth of this piece is twenty million", the mc announced earning a lot of gasps from the crowd.

Who would waste their money on this pair of ring? Of course, unless you got a lot of money to waste on your husband and wife and if you love them a lot but there was no one in the crowd who put their bid on it except two people.

First bidder: Twenty one million.

Second bidder: Twenty four million.

First bidder: thirty million.

Second bidder: thirty one million.

The bid went on until it reached forty million and the first bidder gave up. Just as the mc was about to announce the winner of the bid, a man came to the stage and whispered something in the ear of the mc.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Gray but someone bought it for one billion", the mc said with a smile while everyone gasped loudly.

Who the hell was that person?

Did he have too much to spend? If so then please share with us.

People thought as they started looking among themselves.

"Wow. Someone's love is worth a billion dollars", Lily muttered to herself which was heard by the man in the corner as he let out a light chuckle.

She sure knew how to comment on things sarcastically.

After that the mc showed a pair of small earrings which Lily found and immediately bought them. She bought one earring set and a rare black diamond bracelet until now but she waited for the grand one.

As soon as the last piece which was the one and only piece of bracelet was displayed, Lily's eyes sparkled. She loved it.

The body of the bracelet was made up of thin golden chain. There were red and white diamonds embedded on the bracelet. Each diamond was cut in the shape of lily flower with dark red hue in each diamond. The lock had a dark red diamond with white hue cut in the shape of lily.

"This piece is a special one. It's name is 'Precious Lily'. The worth of this piece is two billion. You may start the bid", the mc announced while everyone's eyes widened in shock but the design was worth the price for sure.

Lily was the first one raise her card while her eyes glowed in the dark out of excitement.

The man in the corner noticed how happy and excited she was. A gentle smile appeared on his face looking at her. He then looked towards the piece of jewellery that she liked and understood her choice.

She didn't like the normal usual stuffs others liked, she loved rare things which were more valuable and were more worthy of the price she was paying.

After she raised her card, she saw another man in the room who raised his card. She did not bother to look at the person since she was busy admiring the piece.

The man in the corner suddenly had a frown on his face and the aura around him turned cold. He glared at the person's head who was bidding against Lily.

Unaware of the fact that someone was looking out for her, Lily kept raising her card so did that person. None of them wanted to give up. The bid reached ten billion yet none of them gave up.

Just as Lily was about to raise her hand, she saw a man coming towards her. He leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Young lady, my master there said you should give up already. He'll pay you seven billion if you give up."

Lily frowned and finally turned to look at the person a few rows down from where she was sitting. She couldn't see the person's face since she was at a higher place but she could vaguely see the man had a woman along side him who was hugging him.

She slightly moved her head forward and her world fell apart upon seeing the person who sent this man to give up on the bid.
