The next day, Lily came home early from work and went to take shower then came out to find a makeup artist and a hair stylist to help her out with her look.
Lily went to her walk in closet and choose a light pink off shoulder mermaid laced gown that had simple stone embroidery designs. Her beautiful neck and collarbone were visible in the open neckline of her gown. She paired her gown with matching stilletos which made he took even taller than she already was.
Lily came out and sat on the chair in from to her big dressing table. The two women quickly begun their work and got her ready. Her eyes had smoky makeup and lips were painted with coral color lipstick. Her long hairs were styled in a updo hairstyle.
She went downstairs once she was all ready and met with her grandfather who had a smile on his face when he saw her.
"You look beautiful, my Xiao Li", he said gently to which Lily gave a small smile and thanked him. The pair of grandfather and granddaughter left in their limousine and reached the venue in around twenty minutes.
There were reporters and photographers outside the venue since many socialites and business tycoons and even celebrities came to the party. Afterall even they needed a bite.
The black limousine stopped in front of the entrance of the hotel and the old master got down first followed by Lily who hooked her arm in his as they started making their way towards the entrance.
As soon as the photographers saw Lily, they held their breath and muttered the word "goddess". Everything about her was perfect. From her face to her body and aura that she emitted screamed majesty.
"Mr. Sheng, who is she?", one of the reporter asked curiously. If it was other day, the old man wouldn't bother answering but since it was Lily's first public appearance in the past so many years and especially in such big party, he decided to answer the question.
"She is my granddaughter, Lily Sheng", the old man said proudly which made Lily look at him as a faint smile appeared on her face.
The reporters who heard the answer were in shock when they looked towards Lily who has changed a lot from the last time they saw her. She was not even a teen when they last saw her and that time she created a lot of trouble for everyone and was named as the worst heiress.
But as they look at the new Lily, they didn't know what else to say. She looked so beautiful and dressed so nicely unlike the old self who would end up wearing anything in parties to embarrass her family.
The old man and Lily did not wait for anyone to ask more questions since the only answer was enough to make a headline for the next day so they just walked away.
When the two walked inside, all the eyes turned to Lily as they had never seen her. Lily ignored all the gazes and walked towards the centre of the hall with her grandfather.
Sitting in an arm chair was an old man around the same age as the old master Sheng. He looked like he'd kill anyone if they dared to provoke him.
"Happy Birthday, old man", Sheng Zhou wished with a smile garnering the attention of the old man who was looking away. The old man looked up and smiled brightly when he saw his old friend.
He stood up and hugged Sheng Zhou and made a small talk before he noticed the girl next to his friend. "This is my granddaughter, Lily. Xiao Li, this is my friend, George", Sheng Zhou introduced to which Lily gave a small bow.
Normally she wouldn't lower her head even if it was an elder but this man was special to her old man so she let herself low because she didn't want to embarrass her grandfather. Also the man did not harm her anyways so she felt it was ok.
"This is a gift from me and grandfather. Happy Birthday", Lily said handing over the bag she had with her. George smiled as he took the bag from her and handed it to a servant while he said, "Keep this in my car."
George and Sheng Zhou started talking to each other while Lily stood quietly looking around the hall. She found many familiar faces but there were some that she didn't recognise.
After about ten minutes, a girl in her early twenties came rushing towards George. She was wearing a beautiful silver gown and her medium length hairs were curled and let down making her look even appealing.
"Grandfather", she called out.
The two old men turned to look at the girl while Lily noticed that the facial expression of George turned stoic when he saw the girl. She wondered who the girl was that affected his mood to this extent.
"Don't call me grandfather", he spoke coldly. The girl whose name was Jenna had a scowl on her face when she heard him. "Grandfather, why are you being like this? Ain't I your to be granddaughter in law?", Jenna said looking pitiful.
George scoffed as he spoke in a much colder tone, "That was until I found our your great work. Get lost and don't show me your face. I will never let my grandson marry you. And don't call me grandfather again."
The woman was about to speak when she received a glare from the old man which was enough for her to know that if she didn't leave, he wouldn't mind calling the security on her which would be embarrassing.
Lily noticed that George's mood dampened after meeting the woman and it did not seem to change even when he received so many wishes from so many people.
A while later, the entire hall went quiet and the the temperature dropped to the lowest making everyone feel colder even though the heating system was on in the hall. As everyone turned to see who had just entered the hall, they felt their breath hitch in their throat.
The man who had just entered the hall was beyond handsome. His aura was so majestic and strong that it made one automatically bow to him. Every step he took were dominating.
Wearing a black three piece suit and an overcoat on top entered none other than Adrian Collins. His hands were covered with leather gloves and a silver expensive watch shined under the light on his wrist. His hairs were styled behind giving him a devilish look.
He came towards where Lily was standing with her grandfather and George.
"Happy birthday, grandfather", he wished with an expressionless look which didn't seem to please the old man. George hummed in response and sighed knowing that his grandson was as good as the block of ice.
"Grandfather, don't be upset. I'm here for you", said a young man who looked handsome and had similar facial features to Adrian. George furrowed his brows when he saw his other grandson who was a naughty one and left the sight with Sheng Zhou leaving Lily.
He winked at George and smiled brightly until his eyes landed on the beauty next to his grandfather.
His expression changed to a shocked one when he looked at Lily. "Damn, how can someone be so hot?", he questioned himself as he stared at Lily but received a glare from his brother and Lily.
"Sorry I didn't mean to be that respectful. Hey, I'm Ryan. Grandson of that grandfather", he introduced to Lily and extended his hand for her but she didn't take it. She hummed in response before she walked away.
"She ignored me? That's something new. Brother, do you think I'm losing my charm?", Ryan asked looking at Adrian who had an annoyed look on his face. He didn't mind that his brother didn't give him any answer but what caught his attention was that this brother who never had eyes for a woman was looking at Lily.
'Interesting', he thought to himself.
"Brother, if you want to impress her then you need to smile a bit. Also, you should have told me in advance you had eyes on her. But who is she?", Ryan asked as he looked at Lily who was having wine.
Adrian thought his brother was being too annoying and felt like strangling him to death. He felt that if he stayed any longer, he might as well kill his brother so he walked away.
"Wait, wait. She came with the old man of the Shengs. Does that mean she is the mysterious young miss of the Shengs? Woah, that's a great news", Ryan mumbled to himself.
While Lily slowly sipped on her wine, the hall once again turned silent. Lily furrowed her brows as she noticed the changed and turned to look at the entrance.
She froze on her spot when she saw the person who had just entered the hall.
