Consciously I wanted to be awake to know that I was still alive and well but deep down my spirit was afraid of waking up and finding myself in an endless dark abyss showing me I died from drowning

The feeling of not being there engulfed me wholly as I found myself shifting around. The need to wake up kicked in and I could feel myself moving. a certain hand rested on me but I could pinpoint who it was but I felt it was assurance

My heavy eyes tried to flicker open, trying to get a small glimpse of life and a new day but I felt a sharp pain which made me close my eyes despite them being closed the entire time. I was unaware of my surroundings but I could hear faint voices which sounded a little more at a distance. It was rather hot which gave me comfort

"Ahh" was the only thing I could voice out, however, my voice came out all hoarse as if I had a frog stuck on my throat. I tried to lick my lips but they so dripped that my guess just brushed on them and felt a sharp pain

"Careful" I heard a familiar voice mumble softly as warm hands wrapped around my back and pulled me up

I felt weak that I allowed whoever it was to move me around until I was resting on something hard and something with a beating heart

I guessed I was resting on someone's chest. I didn't protest as I attempted to open my eyes and see where I was and this time I did, more slowly for fear of finding something which would break my heart. Immediately my eyes opened I felt a sharp pain from the brightness of the room. My vision was rather blurry as if there was a fog in the room however I saw movements of some sort. Someone's figure rushed in the room but my attention was strongly on the person holding me in place

"She's awake...oh thank goodness" I heard a lady's voice say and it was Monica, I wonder what happened to me. I didn't recall anything as I reached my hand to my head and felt my hair was rather wet

"She'll be fine...get something warm for her to drink ''this time I heard Victor's soft voice give orders. Everyone in the room sounded worried and when I fully regained my senses and looked around. I saw Leo standing at the center of the bed looking all worried while Monica was beside him

I shifted my head turning to the person sitting on the bed holding me in place, only then did I realize it was Victor all alone. The way he gripped me gently made me feel relaxed as my head fell back on his chest

I felt so bad that I just wanted to close my eyes and drift to sleep once more. I never knew I would get comfortable in someone's arms. This was the first time I let my guard down. I never relied on anyone in the past nor did I think I'd be so content just being held in someone's arms

It was different and strange, the feeling was new to me that I didn't want to move back. The warmness of his body was something I wanted but that was taken away from me when suddenly he moved away and slowly laid my head down on some pillows which were soft and comfortable but not as comforting as Victor's chest

It was a shame but I had to embrace it knowing I was wearing it for something which wasn't mine

"What happened to you...if you don't know how to swim why jump in the pool in the first place" it was Monica's angry voice I heard and I lifted my eyelashes to look at her and she did not only sound angry, her facial expression was a displeased one

"Stop it Monica...it's not like she jumped in deliberately, maybe something happened, "Leo said defensively on my behalf and I had no strength to argue or defend myself. My body felt so heavy and strange that their voices were so annoying to my ears, so deafening that the only person I wanted to hear talking was Victor but he was awfully quiet as he sat beside me. I felt his weight close to me although this time he kept his distance. I looked at him and he looked tired. His shoulders were rather hunched, his hair messy and the little bun had tied a little

His eyes were rather timid as he checked my blood pressure. I didn't notice he had slipped the machine there. I was lost in looking at him wondering why he looked so distant as if he couldn't wait to get away from me

"This is it...this girl never goes a day without causing trouble…"Monica remarked, hence I shifted my eyes to her. She mentioned the swimming pool earlier and thought that images of what happened back at the pool flashed in. Me standing by the edge of the pool admiring the serene water which I desired to bathe in but at the thought of that I grew restless as I shook my head denying what she said

"I didn't jump in... someone pushed me"I voiced out more hoarsely as I tried to sit up

"What?"Victor and Leo asked at the same time although Victor's voice sounded more low and soft than Leo's deep, serious one. Monica too looked surprised as if not believing what I said but it was the truth, I didn't want them to think I slipped or anything but I felt a pair of hands on my back. When I stumbled around and looked back. I only saw a shadow and wind gush by and the next I was in the pool fighting to get up

"What do you mean someone pushed you?"Leo added as he walked closer to the bed and carefully sat down by my head and rested his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him and nodded. Victor sat there and I saw his brows creasing angrily

"Who was it...did you see their face?"Victor asked more bitterly like he was suppressing anger. I turned to him and shook my head in denial

"It happened too fast...it was dark and I only saw a shadow when I fell in the pool", I replied knowing I felt hands on me and someone pushed me there

"But there was no one when I left...are you sure?"Leo asked as if trying to believe his own words. I saw Monica yawning and I knew she thought I was making things up. But I wanted them to believe me that I was touched

"Vivienne this is ridiculous...who do you think pushed you and what would they gain huh, "Monica asked sarcastically

"The security is tight here...Victor what's going on...I was with her and I don't understand how she just drowned in there" Leo commented questionably turning to Victor who was done taking my blood pressure

"Check the CCTV…"Victor said as he rose to his feet and Leo shook his head and Monica ended up answering

"The cameras to the poolside were removed remember...you said so...even if there was someone how on Earth did they get in past security...this is absurd I'm sure she's making things up, "Monica said as she walked to Victor then turned to look at me with a disdainful look when saying the last words

"Get out both of you...I want all security men lined up this instant...call everyone out now!"It was a straight order from Victor who didn't look happy at all. I tilted my head to Leo and he was agitated and disturbed, Monica was cool as ever as she nodded and walked out of the room

"Sweetie you'll be fine... we'll find the culprit"Leo assured me and lowered to plant a kiss on my forehead. I was a little surprised by his sudden actions as his cold soft lips connected with my forehead. He moved back in caressed my cheeks gently before he rose to his feet and walked away

He didn't even spare Victor a glance as he walked to the door and left and when I looked up at Victor he had the same distant aura which I failed to understand. He was purposely keeping his gaze away from me or was he ignoring me. I didn't know what to think but I had to say something

"Sir I don't know how to swim...I didn't jump in the…"

"Get some rest for now" Victor cut me off coldly before I could say something. He sounded irritated as he slammed whatever he had in his hands on the table making a noise that made me flinch and my heart jump from fright. He turned and walked away leaving me there thinking.

Mostly he was always sweet with me even if I irritated him but now his actions and behavior was rather too cold

"What's wrong with him", I,  said as I sank in my soft bed and shifted the blankets up but then something hit me...I quickly lifted the blankets off my body to check if and yes

"Bathrobe?"I muttered out when I was only in a white short bathrobe. How I got changed. I didn't remember anything about regaining consciousness and most importantly who saved me and who changed me. but the changing part I guessed Monica or Julia did it

"I'm sure Julia changed me...did she?"I said more convincingly but soon my expression dropped as I thought about the possibility of Victor saving me and doing the changing. I shook my head in denial knowing a man wouldn't dare change me and see my naked body when he had female servants to do it.
