Chapter 20: Chapter 20

"Looks like you're all alone today, Miss Popularity." Dafne said

And I ignored her, acting like I'd heard nothing, but she still didn't stop.

"Why is he not with you today? Did he get what he was taking from you? " She asked, and I slammed my locker's door with all my might and looked at her, showing a grin on my face.

"I'm not that easy like you." I said

And she was furious, but I ignored her when she was ordering me to get back to where she was. I also don't know why she was on the night shift, but I hope she won't die. Anyone might wonder how she keeps working in the morning and at night.

I tied my hair and she removed my tie.

"What's your problem?" I asked her and she scoffed.

"Don't act tough, because your back-up in this job is strong. I won't let you look down on me, Lily! " She said, and I was looking at her like, Is she for real? I don’t know what she intends to do with her life.

"Anything else?" I asked her because I was running out of patience, but she was about to slap me.

"Try harder," I said to her as I caught her hand."You've been respected long enough, but isn't it time for you to earn it in a not so easy way?"

"You're just a cashier here; you're no different from us. So please don't bully anyone; you're not like me, who had a back up for this job, that strong. " I told her

And I took my ponytail soaked in the sink and had no choice but to tie it in my hair even though it was wet. Our co-workers shouted and cheered, and it's true that that attitude of hers has to end. She's not the manager or anything, and I didn't mean to tell her that, but she badly needs someone that can stand up to that level of hers to speak some sense to her.

For a moment, I didn't speak anymore and just went ahead serving everything that was served to me, and my muscles seemed to be shocked, and for a moment I forgot that it's better to serve customers at day time.

And I was on a break and was checking my phone.

"Yes, I've eaten already."

That was the last message I sent him, and it's been like 3 or 4 days since he sent me one, and it's been since the last time he took me home. He even told me that he has a business outside the country, but is it that hard to update or even send me a message?

But who am I to complain? It's not like he's courting me so we can have a relationship; he's courting me so he can get closer to Steve, and I didn't mind. Maybe it's my fault too for thinking something like this and putting some meaning into things. It should not be placed.

Dafne said, "Your break is done, Miss Popularity," and I was so pissed off that I ended up leaving the kitchen.

"You're so foul, Dafne." Some girls said something to Dafne, making her feel left out of place and gripping her plastic fork until it broke.

I was serving food and, luckily, there weren't many people in the VIP room, so time passed pretty swiftly. I don't know, I was still searching for some familiar figure that would boost my energy, but as I was searching, I bumped into someone.

"Careful, I know a lot of people, but look at the way you're taking it." said Christian, and I just chuckled.

"Looks like you have a large amount of money after this." I said to him and placed the tray on my side.

"Large pile of money to pay off debt." he said, and then we both laughed.

He left me and I went on the counter to serve this never ending beer, chips, and even a full course meal that they were ordering. The night was moving so fast and I didn’t know when it would end, but my feet felt sore and I didn’t care much, but Dafne shouted the last ticket, so I didn't complain anymore to finish everything.

I saw this VIP room before I got the one I was going to serve, and while I was picking it up, I was praying that there would be no more problems so that I could finish up because I was chasing the bus, and I might run out of bus again, and I thought having Layxanser as a driver would lessen the hassle of me commuting to go home, but I shook my head, and as soon as I entered to place the order, my gaze shifted to the man seated with a grin on his face.

"I thought you weren't looking at the customers you served food to, especially in this VIP room, but why are you staring at me?" he asked.

And my heart skipped a beat and about his question, I don't even know myself anymore. I slowly stood up to look at him carefully, thinking that it was really him and not just someone that was made up in my mind.

"You!" I said, pointing at him at the same time because I couldn't believe it. "Where have you been all these days?" I asked him.

And then he approached me, pinning me against the wall and then harshly kissing me; I didn't know what to do, but as I looked at him with his eyes closed, I let go of the tray I was holding and clung my hand to his neck, returning all the kisses he gave me; and when he was kissing me on the neck, I was embarrassed and pushed him away.

I said, "I'm sweaty, please don't" and then he chuckled, hugging me close to him and caressing my waist.

"Lily, you're really driving me nuts." He said chuckling, and I could feel his heartbeat, but I was confused and I looked at him.

What is this? Am I making this up? Am I really smitten by this young man? I was taken away by him and then he sat down, making me sit on his lap facing him. I was super shy and was turning my gaze in another direction. I couldn't believe that I was really into this but he held my chin, making me face him.

"Don't ever push me away, because the more you do, the more I want you." He said and then kissed me again, so I did the same and he was touching me everywhere, which was causing me to feel super hot.

"If I knew that this is what I'd run to when I came home, I should've returned home early." Liam said, and they kissed again to their hearts' content.

On the other hand, Christian saw everything making him feel furious and dialed an unknown number.

"You want to meet me? Then I'm ready."
