Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Sierra pov.

I turned to look at the beast standing behind me. "Is this-" I tried to say, but he nodded and looked at me.

"This is all the sarvent in the castle. I wasn't the only one cursed, but also them. Right now, they are asleep. When it strikes 12, they will awaken, and when it strikes back to 6, they will all fall asleep," he explained.

As we walked out of the room, I took in the sight of the intricate tapestries on the walls, the elegant chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and the grandiose furniture scattered around. The air was heavy with the musty scent of old wood and dust. I could hear the faint creaking of the floorboards beneath my feet as we walked.

I felt pity and sadness for him. Being alone and living under a curse was not something anyone would dream of.

As I was about to apologize for all the wrongs I had done, he spoke instead. "One day left before the full moon. Do you still wish to stay?"

I looked up at him, unsure of how to reply. He wanted me to leave, as if he was going to kill me during the full moon. I looked into his eyes, and we stared in silence, only our breathing could be heard.

"Beast," I called out to him, moving forward and holding his hands in mine as I looked into his eyes. "I'm not scared, beast. I want to be here during the full moon."

His hands touched mine, and I could see the sadness surrounding his eyes as we looked at each other. "But it's not safe," he whispered, his hot breath brushing against my face.

"I don't care," I said firmly. "I just want to be close to you."

As I spoke, I felt a connection forming between us, as if we were two lost souls finding each other. The beast's touch felt rough and warm against my skin, but it also felt comforting, as if I had found a home in his embrace.

It was a moment of silence as we both held each other's hands, looking at ourselves without saying a word. Soon, he held me, and we walked away from the door and into the library. I didn't know why he brought me here, but I decided not to ask.

Soon, we came around a cupboard that had chains on it. "I haven't seen this before," I thought to myself, looking surprised. I watched as he rocked the chains and opened the cupboard.

I gazed as I looked at what was inside it, and I could not believe my eyes. I turned to look at him, wanting an explanation, and he breathed out and smiled at me.

"I use this during the full moon so I won't hurt anyone. I chain myself up, and I make sure they are too strong for me to break," he explained.

Just listening to his words, I moved closer to him, feeling sad. I hugged him as his fur touched my body, and we just stayed there without moving.

Soon, I noticed he was relaxed, and I smiled, just holding him around me. Even as a beast, he still had the heart of an angel.

As we pulled away, I turned and looked back at all the heavy chains in it, and I brought one out, holding it in my hands and turning to face the beast once more.

"Can't you do anything to stop it?" I asked, as he looked at me and replied.

"I was cursed to suffer for my sin, and all the pains I feel are nothing compared to the ones I will feel on the full moon. During that time, the beast that everyone speaks of will show himself on the full moon," he said. As he spoke, he walked over to me. "That is why I want you not to be closer to me and go back home. After the full moon is over, I will come to take you back."

The library was dimly lit, but I could see the heavy chains inside the cupboard. The smell of old books mixed with the scent of the beast's fur, creating a unique fragrance that filled the room. I could hear the sound of the chains clinking together as he rocked them, and I could feel the weight of the chain in my hand, cold and heavy.

As I heard the pain in his voice, I felt a strong urge to comfort him and alleviate his agony. I approached him with a gentle smile and placed my hands on his face, hoping to ease his pain.

"I'm here, my dear beast," I reassured him, noticing a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

I retreated to my room, feeling somewhat drained. It was nearly nightfall, and I decided to take a bath to rejuvenate myself.

After finishing my bath, I lay down on my bed and turned to face the window, observing the moon's luminous glow on my face. I felt a sense of apprehension as I pondered his words.

Unable to rest, I stood up and walked to the window, gazing at the moon with a mix of fear and curiosity.

"Should I stay here or go back to my mom's place?" I muttered, my mind racing with uncertainty.

As I lay my head against the windowpane, I weighed the consequences of my decision. He was a beast, and I couldn't help but feel anxious about the upcoming full moon.

I screamed into my hands, feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. Was my bond with him clouding my judgment, making me act foolishly?

I look down at my hands, where my tears had fallen, and feel as though I'm making a wrong decision. After a moment of cursing myself and feeling guilty about everything happening around me, I decide to go back to bed. I lay my head down for a moment, pulling the blanket up to cover me. As I look up, my eyes are drawn to the sight of the moon shining bright in the sky.

"Please, Goddess, have mercy," I whisper, feeling my eyes growing heavy. The air is filled with a gentle scent of lavender and chamomile from my pillow.

Just as I'm about to drift off to sleep, I feel a hand wrap around me, pulling the blanket even closer to my body. I feel warmth and the gentle touch of fingertips on my face.

"Good night," I whisper, and just as I hear the words "Good night" whispered back to me, I fall into a deep slumber. It's as if I'm being embraced by a comforting metaphorical blanket of love and protection.
