Chapter 8: Chapter 8
Sierra pov.
Two days before the full moon, my heart was already beating fast, as if it had already happened. I never left the beast's side, determined to help him and make him feel better. The sight of him had always fascinated me, even as his beastly form emerged. His fur was thick and jet black, his eyes a piercing yellow that glowed in the moonlight. His scent was wild and musky, reminding me of the forest and the creatures that roamed within it.
I walked into the kitchen, the aroma of spices and herbs filling my nostrils. I decided to make him dinner, hoping to repay him for his kindness. The sound of sizzling filled the air as I cooked, the bubbling of the pot and the clinking of the utensils creating a symphony of its own.
After finishing cooking, I made my way to his room and tapped on his door. I waited for a minute before it opened, revealing him standing there in only his boxer shorts. The sight of him took my breath away, his muscles rippling and his chest heaving. I reached out to touch him, feeling the softness of his fur and the heat of his skin beneath it. Even as a beast, he was still hot and sexy.
He cleared his throat, interrupting my thoughts. I looked up and caught his gaze, feeling shy and slightly embarrassed.
I took in his appearance; his dark hair was perfectly styled, his eyes a deep shade of brown, and his cologne lingering in the air. The sound of his voice was smooth and calming, making me feel at ease.
As I nervously twiddled my fingers, I noticed the softness of the fabric of my shirt. The sensation of the material under my fingertips was comforting, almost like a security blanket.
"I'm sorry," I said softly, my eyes downcast.
He tilted his head slightly and asked, "Do you need anything?"
I shook my head, feeling a knot form in my stomach. Summoning all my courage, I spoke up. "I made dinner, and I thought, if you don't mind, you could join me."
As the words left my mouth, I felt as though I was standing on the edge of a cliff, about to fall. His response could make or break me.
"Okay," he said, his voice warm and inviting. He closed the door behind him, and I felt as though I had been granted access to a secret world, just the two of us.
I breathed out, realizing that I had been holding my breath while speaking to him. The room was silent, but the scent of his musk filled the air, and I couldn't help but imagine the sound of his growl. His skin was warm and rough to the touch, like a wild animal. As I savored the thought of him, I knew I was falling deeper into his embrace.
As I turned to walk away, the door swung open and I caught sight of him fully dressed. My eyes locked onto him and I couldn't look away, the sight of him taking my breath away.
"Wow," escaped my lips before I could even think to hold it in. Embarrassed, I quickly closed my mouth and looked up at him, only to see him chuckling at my reaction.
"You look beautiful," he said, moving closer to me and making me blush.
I tried to respond, but he beat me to it. "So, is the food still available?" he asked, making a joke and causing me to laugh.
He took my hands in his and led me straight to the dining table where the food was set. I sat down as he sat close to me, his presence and scent enveloping me.
I saw the way he looked at all the dishes on the table, then he looked back up at me. "You made this?" he asked, and I smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I thought maybe I could do something cool for you," I replied, feeling my heart flutter at the sight of his smile.
Soon we started eating in silence, and I couldn't stop staring at him. Watching him eat made me feel like the world was spinning around me. I chuckled as I noticed how he ate like a beast.
After we were done, I stood up to pack the dishes, but he held my hands and stopped me. His touch sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn't help but feel like I was under his spell.
"They will do it," he said, and I looked around, trying to see who "they" were. I sat back down and looked at him before turning to scan the room once more. "Who are they, if I may ask?" I inquired, wanting to know more about the mysterious group he was referring to.
He shifted in his seat, clearly unhappy with my question. Then, he stood up and held out his hand for me to take. Tentatively, I placed my hand in his and rose to my feet, gazing into his eyes. Together, we walked away from the dining area and into an unfamiliar part of the mansion.
I slowed my pace and looked up at him, feeling nervous and unsure of where he was taking me. Was he planning on hurting me? The sweat on my skin seemed to confirm my anxiety.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern.
I nodded, trying to act as if everything was fine. "Yeah, I was just thinking about getting some rest. I'm feeling weak, so why don't you go ahead alone, and I'll just head back to my room, okay?"
He walked over to me, his strong hands holding onto mine, pulling me closer to him. I could feel my heart beating faster as I tried to understand what was about to happen.
As he looked at me, concern etched on his face, he asked, "You look so scared, mate. What happened?"
I gazed up into his eyes, trying to find the courage to voice the question that had been weighing heavily on my mind. Finally, I found the words, "Are you planning on killing me?"
At first, he burst into laughter, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Why would I even dare kill a lovely and beautiful mate like you?" he asked. "I was only trying to answer your question about who books and cleans the house while you sleep. Why don't you come with me and let me show you?"
I nodded, grateful for his kindness and understanding. As we walked, I took in my surroundings, marveling at the sights and sounds around me. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
Soon, we arrived in front of a large door, and I couldn't help but wonder what lay beyond it. With a gentle push, he opened the door, and we stepped inside. As I looked around, my eyes widened in amazement.
"No way," I whispered, my heart beating so fast I thought it might burst. It was as if I had stepped into a magical world, one that I had never even dreamed existed.
