Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Sierra pov.

One Month later..

"It's been a month already and I have been hiding away from William. Seeing him once again, I just don't have that feeling anymore," I thought to myself as I looked around the kitchen. The room was dimly lit with the only source of light coming from the small window above the sink. The air was filled with the smell of freshly cut lemons, which had been left out on the counter.

I walked over to the refrigerator and opened it, grabbing a juice. As I walked over to the cupboard. I picked up a glass from the cupboard and sat down at the kitchen table. The chair was old and creaked as I sat down.

I poured the juice into the glass, trying to forget all the pain that had been on my head for a month now. I closed my eyes and tried to think of something better, hoping to find peace.

Suddenly, the sound of the kitchen door opening caught my attention. I opened my eyes to see Alex walking in. I looked away, not wanting to make eye contact with her, and closed my eyes once again, trying to forget she was even there.

But then I felt a presence close to me, and when I opened my eyes, I saw her staring at me and the juice in my hand. "What do you want?" I asked her, sensing that she was offended in some way.

"I want you out of this kitchen," she said, pointing at the door.

I felt a shock coursing through my body as I listened to what she had say. I stood up abruptly and turned to face her, trying to understand her words. "What did you just say?" I asked, my voice trembling with confusion.

"I said get out!" she yelled, her voice laced with anger, causing me to flinch. Was Alex really asking me to leave the kitchen?

I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could, she grabbed the juice bottle from the table and poured it over me. The cold liquid drenched my clothes and the sensation of it on my skin sent shivers down my spine. Then, she pushed me forcefully, causing me to stumble and fall to the ground.

I looked up at her, stunned by her actions and struggling to comprehend what was happening. As I stood up, I didn't know what to say. As I turned to leave the kitchen, I came face to face with William, who was standing there, watching me.

I raised my hands, gesturing for him to stop, and said, "It's not your fault. I was foolish to fall in love with a beast in the first place." Tears welled up in my eyes, and I left him there, feeling as though I had lost my humanity and was nothing more than a nobody.

As I stepped into the hallway, I saw Henry standing there, his face filled with anger. I quickly wiped away my tears and tried to smile, pretending that everything was okay. He walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder, scanning me for any sign of harm.

"Did she do this to you?" he asked, his voice heavy with concern. I lied, forcing a smile as I said, "No, no. It was just a mistake. I poured water all over myself."

Just then, William walked out of the kitchen and into the hallway. The moment I saw him, I knew I had to get away. I turned and ran back to my room, looking over my shoulder to see Henry blocking William's path and preventing him from coming any closer to me.

I took off my clothes and walked over to the bathroom, turning on the shower and allowing the water to pour down my body. The warm water felt soothing, and I closed my eyes as I let out a deep breath, feeling the tension in my muscles begin to dissipate.

After a little while, I felt relaxed and walked over to my bed, laying down and staring at the ceiling. "What a day," I whispered, feeling a sense of weariness wash over me. I longed for the time to turn back, to make everything right.

Suddenly, a knock could be heard on the door, and William's voice kept on calling me. However, I took out my phone and put my earpiece on, choosing to listen to a song instead. I smiled as the sound of the knock faded away, feeling more relaxed and happy. I closed my eyes and fell into an endless darkness.

9:00 pm

As I walked out of my room, I noticed how quiet everything was. Just as I was about to enter my room, a maid ran over to me and bowed. "My Luna, the unknown lady asks for your presence," she said.

I looked around to make sure Alex wasn't anywhere near, lifted my chin, and moved closer to her as I whispered, "Do not say that again or you will get in trouble. And please, I am no longer your luna. Just call me Sierra."

Just as she was about to speak, I cut her off and smiled, asking her to get back to work. I walked over to the living room, where I knew Alex would be. As I walked, I noticed William was also there. I looked away and walked over to Alex, rolling my eyes as I spoke. "Why did you call for me?" I asked her as she looked up at me, then back to her phone in her hands.

"I need you to wash my feet," she said.

Hearing that, I looked over at her and then back at William, feeling unsure of what to say. I stood there, silent, and William stood up, looking at Alex and yelling, "She is my wife, not a slave. Find any of the maids to do that for you."

I observe as Alex shifts her gaze away from her phone and back to William.

"She is your wife, and I am your wife and Luna at the same time, so she is just like a slave now," Alex states, her voice laced with evilness.

William was about to respond, but before he can, I turn towards him and yell, "Why don't you just stop? Stop, please! You have made my life a living hell, don't make it worse."

As I turn to look at Alex, I notice that she has dipped her leg into a bowl filled with water. I kneel down beside her and place my hands into the bowl, watching her feet as she begins to relax.

Suddenly, the sound of a door opening cuts through the silence, and I know without looking up that someone has entered the room. But the next thing I hear makes me lift my head.

"What the hell are you doing?" Nora's voice rings out, shock etched onto her face as she stares at me.
