Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Sierra pov.

I could no longer hold back the tears that were streaming down my face, and my heart was beating so fast that I thought it might burst out of my chest. The reality of what had happened was just too much to bear.

For hours, Willams had been knocking on my door, begging me to let him in. I couldn't bear to look at his face or even be in the same room as him.

I lay down on the bed, pulling the pillow closer and hugging it tight as if it were the only comfort I could find. As I waited for Nora to arrive, I thought about what Alex had done and the pain was unbearable.

Finally, a knock on the door made me look up, and I heard Nora's voice calling my name. "Hey Sierra, it's me. Open up."

I quickly stood up, wiping my eyes as I opened the door and saw Nora standing there. I ran over to her, crying on her shoulder as she took me inside and shut the door behind us. She led me back to my bed, where I sat down and wiped the tears from my eyes.

"What happened, Sierra?" she asked, as she started to wipe away the tears on my face. I wanted to tell her what Alex had done, but every time I tried to speak, tears started to fall, and I felt as if I were breaking apart.

She pulled me closer to her, and we both stared into each other's eyes. "Will you betray me as well?" I whispered, looking up at her confused face. She furrowed her brow, staring at me for a moment, and then she lowered her voice. "What do you mean, Sierra? I will never betray my friend, that's a promise."

I smiled, feeling a calm relaxation wash over me, and I hugged her tightly. "Why did Alex do this to me then?" I cried out, and she hugged me even tighter. After a while, I calmed down, and she pulled back to look up at my face.

"I can't believe she would do something so bad to you, but why?" I could feel Nora's anger rising as she looked just as upset. Soon, she stood up and started walking to the door.

"Where are you going?" I asked, and she stopped and turned to face me before speaking. "I'm going to make this right, Sierra. Trust me."

As she walked away, my heart began to beat faster, and I hoped she wasn't going to do something stupid. After staying in the room for a while, I felt uneasy and decided to rush out to check what was happening with all the shouting outside.

As I quickly rushed out, I noticed Nora dragging Alex by her hair, and Alex yelling in pain. The sight made my stomach turn, and the smell of fear and anger filled the air. The sound of their voices and the scraping of Alex's heels against the floor echoed in my ears.

I felt a pang of sympathy for Alex, but I knew she had betrayed me, and I couldn't let her get away with it.

I could feel the anger in Nora's eyes, and if I don't stop her, she might just end up killing the baby in her womb. "Nora!" I yelled as I ran over to her, not minding William and Henry, who stood there not doing anything. As I got closer to Nora, I pulled her away, as her eyes were yellow, and her claws were out, ready to strike at any time.

"Nora, please relax, okay?" I begged her, as she looked at Alex, then back at me, and she started calming down a little.

William and Henry stood still, not daring to move a muscle, and I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears.

"Why did you stop me, Sierra?" she asked as she looked up at me. "You should have let me kill her. She doesn't deserve to be alive; she is nothing but a betrayal."

I looked at Alex, who was still in shock about what had just happened, and just as my eyes moved back to Nora, they landed on William. I watched as he moved forward, wanting to meet me, but I pulled Nora's hands, taking her back to my room.

As we got there, I sat her down on the bed and sat close to her. "Why did you do it?" I asked her as I looked at her, which she did also.

"Sierra, Alex is a betrayal. Why don't you just let me deal with her? She doesn't deserve to be called a friend. You should have left me, and I would just kill that child in her once and for all."

I held her hands in mine as little tears came out from my eyes, feeling like I was holding a ticking time bomb.

"Listen to me, Nora. Please, do not ever think of killing a child that doesn't even know what is happening. The child is not at fault and will not be blamed, but the mother, please promise me that you will never do anything like this ever again?" I pleaded with Nora.

She looked at me for a moment before exhaling and whispering, "Ok, Luna, I won't," with a funny face that made me laugh.

As we sat in the room, I observed the sight of the sun setting outside the window, casting a warm orange glow in the room.

I could hear the distant sound of children playing outside, their laughter echoing in the streets. Nora held my hands, her touch comforting and reassuring.

Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted our peaceful moment. "Sierra," William's voice spoke outside the door. "You don't have to say anything, okay? Just listen. I know this is sudden and unexpected, but I promise that I will get to the root of this. Please, mate, I'm so sorry. I can assure you that I never did it, please."

I could feel the pain and confusion in William's voice. Part of me wanted to stand up and hug him, but the pain inside me was unbearable to bear. I looked down, feeling sad, as Nora held my hands, making me feel okay. I smiled and whispered a word of thanks to her.

At that moment, I realized that life is like a rollercoaster, with its ups and downs. But having someone by your side who supports you can make all the difference in the world.

1 Month later.

It had been a month since the incident, and the news had spread like wildfire through the village. I felt so small in comparison. Standing in front of the altar where I was once made the Luna four months ago, I was no longer alone. This time, Alex stood by my side.

"It was a great shock to everyone to hear what happened," the Moonhowler priest spoke. "The law states that whoever has a son first for the Alpha will definitely be the Luna of that pack. So today, as the high priest of the Moonhowler pack, I hereby make Alex Singh the new Luna of our pack."

Whispers filled the air behind me, but I tried to remain strong. My right was taken away from me and given to my friend instead. I couldn't hold back the tears any longer and I walked out, with Nora and Henry following closely behind. I felt lost and rejected.

As I stood there, feeling alone and broken, a hand rested on my shoulder. I looked up to see Henry smiling at me, also with Nora by my side, also smiling. They sat down beside me, determined to make me smile and forget about all that had just happened.

The sight of their kind faces and the gentle touch of Henry's hand on my shoulder comforted me. Despite the chaos and turmoil within me, their presence felt like a warm embrace, like a lighthouse in the midst of a storm.

As I sat there with them, I realized that their friendship was the truest and most valuable thing I had. I may have lost my position, but I had not lost their love and support. Their kindness was a beacon of hope, reminding me that I was not alone, and that there were people who cared about me.
