Chapter 24: Chapter 24

Sierra pov.

After hearing the news, I just could not hold myself any longer. As I sat on the floor, I looked up at Alex, then at William, trying to make sense of what I had just heard. The room was quiet except for the sound of Alex's laughter as she looked at both of us.

I took a deep breath and tried to steady myself before asking myself, "Was William sleeping with my friend behind my back?"

Alex replied, "What are you surprised? Let me make it all clear. The day you went to school with Nora, and I decided to stay put here in the castle, I walked over to your dear husband, who will now be mine, and we decided to drink a little before our discussion. I noticed he was drunk, so I tried to help him to his room. But all he did was rape me. I tried telling you, but I just didn't want to hurt you," she said, still smiling.

My heart felt heavy as I looked at William, who wanted to say something, but I slapped him hard across the face. Tears streamed down my face as I felt my heart breaking into pieces. "How could you?" I yelled. "After all I did for you, you still went behind my back and got my friend pregnant."

I could not stay in the office any longer, so I ran out and walked back to the garden where Henry was. The garden smelled of blooming flowers and fresh grass.

Henry noticed me and asked, "Are you alright, Sierra?" I smiled weakly and looked at him, trying to hold back tears.

"Hey, are you okay? You look upset," Henry asked, concerned.

I sighed, trying to compose myself. "Yeh, am ok. Just got something stuck in my eyes, that's all," I replied, wiping away a tear that had escaped.

Taking a deep breath, I took in my surroundings. The garden was a beautiful sight to behold, with colorful flowers blooming everywhere, and the scent of their perfume filled the air. The sound of water from the fountain in the middle of the garden was soothing, and I could feel the cool breeze on my skin.

Turning my attention back to Henry, I watched as he watered the plants with care, his movements gentle and precise. He turned to face me, and I could see the kindness in his eyes.

"I'm so glad that the Alpha was blessed with someone like you. You're not like other Luna I've seen. You're kind, respectful, and always humble. I hope you can take care of the Alpha and not let what you heard earlier bother you. Maybe the Alpha has business with your friend Alex, and maybe he forgot to tell you. Just keep loving him, okay?" Henry said, his voice full of sincerity.

His words were like a balm to my wounded heart, and I felt a sense of comfort wash over me. I smiled at him, grateful for his understanding.

As I walked away, I saw Alex in the hallway. She looked at me with hate.

I stopped in my tracks as she spoke, "

"You know you can't have him all to yourself," she said, turning to face me.

I looked up at her and tried not to laugh. I remembered when she was scared of coming here, but now she seemed happy. She was the same person who had asked me to leave the beast, my mate, to die, but now she called him cute.

As I walked over to her, I studied her closely. She smelled of lavender and vanilla, and her hair was done up in tight ringlets. The sound of her heels clicking against the concrete echoed through the alleyway. I reached out to touch her arm, but she pulled away.

"You are nothing but a slut and a bitch," I said, turning to walk away. But just as I did, she grabbed me and turned me around. Before I knew it, a slap landed on my face.

I placed my hands on my cheek and looked up at her, shocked. "Did you just slap me?" I asked.

She nodded and replied, "And I will do more if you don't behave."

I looked at Alex, the girl I had made friends with, and wondered how she could act this way. "You should be ashamed, Sierra. Ever since you got married to him, you can't even give him a child. And here I am, carrying a child for him after just a few months."

I could no longer stand to listen to what she was saying. I still couldn't believe that Alex had slapped me. It felt like a betrayal, like a knife to the heart. She had once been my friend, but now she was something else entirely. She was a stranger, a monster, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"And just as in turn, William ran out to his office and rushed over to meet me." As I saw him, my heart started pounding fast in my chest. I noticed his eyes, full of concern, as he held my trembling hands. Suddenly, I lost control, and I slapped him hard across the face, causing him to stagger and clutch his cheek, just like I was doing.

"That is the slap your pregnant wife gave to me." I spat out the words, my voice filled with anger and hurt.

With that, I turned and walked away, leaving the two of them standing there. As I made my way to my room, I heard the sound of my own footsteps, my breathing heavy and ragged.

I locked the door behind me and collapsed onto my bed, burying my face in the soft pillow.

My mind was in turmoil, and I felt lost and confused. Tears streamed down my face, and I cried out all the pain and sorrow I was feeling.

As I sat there, holding the pillow tightly in my hands, I looked out of the window. The world outside seemed dark and dreary, and I wondered if things would ever be the same again.

In that moment, I felt like a character in a tragic story, doomed to suffer for eternity. I thought of all the fairy tales I had read, where the beauty saves the beast, but in my case, by saving the beast, I was only helping a wicked witch, who I had thought was my friend.

I cried out, feeling like I wanted to disappear and never be seen again. If anyone had told me that this was how my story would start and end, I would never have believed it.
