Chapter 23: Chapter 23

Sierra pov.

I calm down a bit, trying to catch my breath as I listen to what he just said. Was Alex really coming to the castle to see Williams?

I stood up with force, walked out on Herny, even when he called my name. I didn't care to look back as I ran away.

I walked back into my room, locked the door, and walked over to my bed. I sat down and took a deep breath, trying to collect my thoughts. I still couldn't believe that my best friend was actually meeting with my husband behind my back. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt a wave of worry wash over me.

Sitting on the bed, I put my hands on my chin as I tried to push away those feelings. But they were stubborn, and they lingered, refusing to be ignored.

After a while, I could no longer sit still, and I stood up, heading straight to Will's office. Without knocking, I opened the door and saw him looking down at a paper. As he looked up at me, I could see the surprise and confusion in his eyes.

He stood up and walked over to me, ready to give me a hug with a smile on his face. But I lifted my hands up and pushed him away, walking over to the chair nearby and sat down. I waited for him to sit down too so we could have a serious discussion.

As he walked back to his chair, he looked confused, and I stared at him dead in the eyes. I felt like a bird trapped in a cage, unable to fly away from the truth.

"Is it true?" I asked, waiting for him to reply to my question. He still didn't understand what I was saying, and just as he was about to speak, I stopped him.

"Have you been seeing Alex when I'm not around?" I asked, anger lacing my voice. He tried to stand, but I stopped him and asked him to sit back down.

"Mate, what are you saying?" he asked, his voice low and soft as always.

"My friend Alex has been coming to see you whenever I'm away. Why does she always come to you, why?"

I looked at him, feeling hurt. Was he now cheating on me after everything I did for him? A tear fell from my eye, and I wiped it away, looking at the floor. But he walked over to me and held my hands.

"Mate, what are you thinking? Your friend always comes to me for assistance. She wanted me to help teach her what it means to be a mate to someone. That was the only thing we ever discussed. I have never had anything to do with your friend, Mate."

Hearing him say that, I calmed a little and looked up at him.

"Then why didn't she tell me? We're friends, anyway, right?"

He nodded as he pulled me closer to him and whispered.

"She didn't know how to tell you. She thought you might just laugh at her."

The room was silent, except for the sound of our breathing. The air smelled of fresh laundry, and I could hear the faint hum of the air conditioning. I felt his touch on my hands, warm and comforting. It was as if he was trying to convey to me that everything was okay, and that he was there for me.

As I looked into his eyes, I realized that he was my rock, my safe haven. He was the one who would always be there for me, no matter what. I felt a sense of relief wash over me, and I knew that everything would be okay.

"Why would Alex ever think that I would want to laugh at her?" I pondered, confused by the thought. Alex was my friend and I would always be there to support her, no matter what.

I looked up and smiled at William, my heart filled with love for him. As I hugged him tightly, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for ever doubting him. I knew he would never intentionally hurt me - he loved me too much.

I closed my eyes, trying to soak up the warmth and comfort of his embrace. The room was quiet, except for the sound of our breathing and the faint hum of the air conditioning.

Suddenly, the door burst open and Alex stormed in, her eyes blazing with anger. I could sense the tension in the air as she strode towards us, her footsteps heavy on the carpet.

As she got closer, I could smell the faint scent of her perfume mingled with the acrid odor of anger. I braced myself for what was to come, wondering what could have possibly upset her so much.

As she walked over to the second seat, she didn't say anything to me or Williams. I was shocked by Alex's behavior. Had she forgotten that I am her Luna? I looked at her and then at William. Seeing her act with such force made me angry, and I stood up to confront her.

"Alex!" I yelled her name, but she just looked up at me with a look of disgust. "Why are you acting this way, Alex? Because you are my friend, I will let this one slide. Stand up from that chair and leave."

She looked up at me without saying anything and continued what she was doing. My anger was about to get the best of me, but William held me back and tried to calm me down.

"Relax, love. Let me handle this," he said. I nodded and stepped back, allowing him to speak to Alex.

He lifted Alex up with force and looked at her angrily, then at me. "What gave you the right to come here and act as you please?" he yelled. Alex pulled his hand away from her and pushed him to the floor, leaving me in shock.

I looked over at Alex, and I still couldn't believe what had just happened. Her actions were like a thunderstorm, sudden and chaotic, leaving destruction in its wake.

"Alex!" I yelled, raising my hands to slap her. But just as I moved, she quickly held my hands back and stared at me. "Don't you dare," she said firmly, and I was taken aback by her sudden assertiveness.

"Alex," I whispered, looking at the person I once called a friend, now acting more like the savage William. I asked her, "What happened?" and she smiled, pushing me away and pointing at William. "He caused it."

I looked at William and then back at Alex, unable to comprehend what she meant by that statement. "What do you mean?" I asked her, while she checked and walked back over to her chair, sitting down and looking at both of us.

"I thought you were the smart one among the three of us, Sierra, but you seem so dull. Anyway, I have been holding this in for a long time, so I think it's best if I say it now that you're both here. I am pregnant, and the child I am carrying inside my womb belongs to the Alpha of Moonhowler pack - Alpha William. He's the father."

As I took in Alex's words, the room fell silent, except for the sound of my racing heartbeat. The air was thick with tension, and the smell of fear was palpable. I felt a lump in my throat and my hands began to shake. The weight of Alex's revelation was heavy, and I knew our friendship would never be the same again.
