Chapter 467: Chapter 467

Baby Cloud shuttled through the void, and as they flew, Captain Doofus would slash apart the void beasts they encountered before the enemy could even react. It was one shot, one kill the entire way, and it began to accumulate a large amount of space energy. It managed to make quite a bit of progress after a while.

It had already reached the point where its teeth qualified as Space resources. Now that its body was infused with Space energy, it had gone far beyond simply combining Space energy into its attacks.

However, Lu Ran still wasn’t satisfied with this development. Even without the Void Hunter talent, Captain Doofus’s comprehension ability alone was enough to help it reach this point eventually. Even Manager Ying was able to achieve this on its own, and it was still a bit short of Quasi-Legendary.

Six-Path Flower believed that at the current rate, it would take another year or two for Captain Doofus’s Space abilities to reach Quasi-Legendary rank because, as it got stronger, it would be increasingly difficult to improve. Although it was still relatively fast for the average person, Lu Ran still wanted Captain Doofus to improve faster since they only had limited time in the Void Battlefield.

"I remember the Void God said that its messenger was also in the area. He should be one of the top three geniuses of Stellar Moon, Kongkong Yi. I feel like we’ve already hunted down most of the void beasts in the surrounding area. Either that or they’ve run away after detecting Captain Doofus’s power because we’re running into them less frequently now."

From inside the castle, Manager Ying suddenly piped up. "We’ve scoured the area but didn’t run into Kongkong Yi. Do you think he has already left? If we keep fighting these weaklings, then we’ll be here for months. We need to find a level 80-90 area to speed up Captain Doofus’s progress. Also, the Void God didn’t set a rule stating Captain Doofus is the only one allowed to fight. We can all fight together to go even faster!

Captain Doofus stomped in discontent.

I can handle level 90 Overlords by myself, you stupid cat.

Manager Ying was too lazy to bother with the husky.

Lu Ran nodded slightly. He had the same idea as Manager Ying. This area wasn’t challenging enough. It was safe, but had little to offer. If he let his other familiars enter the fray and gave Captain Doofus the killing blow, then it should allow them to hunt far more quickly.

"Alright then, let’s get moving," Lu Ran said.

Six-Path Flower suddenly appeared and pointed in a certain direction.

"You should go that way. I’ve been sensing something drawing me over for a while now."

"Really? What could possibly be drawing you toward it?"

Six-Path Flower shook its head.

"I don't know, but as I’ve grown stronger, the feeling has become stronger as well. I think that it could be my remains. I was resurrected through Limitless City, but the me that was originally of this world died a long time ago. When the real me died, it was a Superior Legendary, so the corpse should be able to remain even after all this time. That’s why I think there is such a strong sense of attraction."

Hearing this, Manager Ying grinned at Captain Doofus.

It looks like Six-Path Flower is about to steal your spotlight!

Faced with Manager Ying's ridicule, Captain Doofus only had one response.

I will remember this grudge!

In spite of its displeasure, Captain Doofus maintained its outward composure.

Even if Six-Path Flower evolves, it will only be its first-stage evolution. I’m already preparing for my second-stage evolution, so logically speaking, I will still be stronger. What does this stupid cat know?

Lu Ran turned to look in the direction that Six-Path Flower pointed out and contemplated for a moment.

Six-Path Flower's remains... If that’s what it thinks, then we definitely have to check it out.

While Six-Path Flower could tell what direction the feeling was coming from, it had no idea how far away it was. Lu Ran ordered Baby Cloud to start flying, and they would figure it out one step at a time.

After flying for a while, it became evident that it was going to be a very long journey. Even after a few days, they still had no sight of their destination. During the trip, Lu Ran hunted several high-level void creatures with his familiars. He searched their souls but wasn’t able to uncover any additional information regarding the void. Since they didn’t provide any value, Lu Ran let Captain Doofus kill all of them. Everything remained the same until they encountered a level 72 Overlord void beast.

It was the strongest beast they had encountered thus far. It appeared suddenly out of nowhere and looked like a python. It opened its jaws, as if to swallow them all whole. Before Captain Doofus could take action, Baby Cloud had already fired off a shot at the opponent.

The nine-attribute energy bombs managed to stun it for a moment. Before it could react, Captain Doofus’ sword had already arrived. Several cuts appeared across its body from which blood gushed out violently. Of course, this level of injury wasn’t a fatal threat to the giant void snake, but once it was held down by a Wood Ashura, it was completely unable to move.

Lu Ran smiled as he stood on the castle and looked down on the writhing serpent. Beside him, there was a large frying pan with an egg sizzling on it. While they were travelling, Lu Ran spent some time coming up with ways to attract more void beasts. That was when his cooking skills suddenly came to mind. After some trial and error, he made a Treasure-grade dish that was extremely attractive to void beasts.

For example, the main ingredient this time was a void beast egg that he found, and the snake was his first victim. It didn’t take long before the giant snake was soul-searched and skinned. Unlike the lower-level mobs, the snake had a much more complicated background.

It was the offspring of a Quasi-Legendary void snake that knew much more about the void than other creatures. For one, it was aware of the Void God’s existence, so it warned its offspring to never pass through the turbulence and enter the Stellar Moon World. In addition, it also gave warnings about several forbidden areas throughout the void. One of the forbidden areas was in the direction Lu Ran was heading!

"Is there any useful information?"

In the castle, Manager Ying looked at Lu Ran, who was in deep thought.

"Then hurry up and tell me!"

"Six-Path Flower’s feeling is correct. There is definitely something in the direction we are heading in, but I don’t think that it’s Six-Path Flower’s corpse. It should be... the Void Grass!"

"Void Grass?" Manager Ying was shocked.

"Yes. It’s one of the three most talented plantlife throughout history, on par with the Divine Tree and Six-Path Flower. I should have thought of it earlier. The Void Grass would naturally appear in the void. Although its origins were never uncovered, it’s very likely to have come from the void or at least evolved here.

"According to the memory of the giant void snake, there is a forbidden area ahead. It was warned that the restricted area is related to an extremely terrifying plant that should never be approached. Any void beast that entered the area never came back out. That’s why I believe that the thing calling out to Six-Path Flower is the Void Grass.

"Although the Void Grass supposedly died, as Six-Path Flower mentioned before, Superior Legendary creatures won’t easily disappear after they die. What do you think? Should we go check it out?

Six-Path Flower silently mulled it over.

The Void Grass... What a pity. According to history, we were once comrades-in-arms, but I never had the chance to experience it myself.

Although the Void Grass seemed to call out to Six-Path Flower, it was still wary of dangers that could be lurking in the forbidden area. It was confident in its own abilities but was concerned about endangering Lu Ran and the others.

"Of course!" Manager Ying exclaimed

"However, since there is some risk involved, Six-Path Flower should send in a clone to scout ahead. It won’t be a major loss to us if a few clones die. Once we’ve mapped a safe path, you can go in personally to resonate with the Void Grass."

Six-Path Flower glanced at Manager Ying and replied, "You can also make clones."

Manager Ying was stunned.

Oh yeah, that’s right. This is just a clone. How could I forget?

"It’s ok, we’ll go with your plan."

After figuring out the source of what was attracting Six-Path Flower, Lu Ran proceeded much more cautiously while their anticipation climbed. Within the boundless void, the distance between two places could be quite vast. It took another two days before they finally got close to the forbidden area. Once they arrived, they followed the plan that Manager Ying had previously laid out.

Six-Path Flower’s main body could share the sense of its clone, which it was able to relay to Lu Ran. The further in the clone proceeded, the more bizarre the place became. There were chunks of corpses floating around, commemorating the beasts that had accidentally wandered in.

The clone lost an arm as a slash burst out of the world. Six-Path Flower and Lu Ran were both astonished by the sudden development. They finally knew why the area was considered forbidden. A seemingly eternal intent formation similar to sword intent permeated the space. It contained the fierce will to fight from a supreme being. Just now, the clone hadn’t reacted in time; it would’ve lost much more than just an arm.

"The area is really dangerous," the clone muttered as it reattached its severed arm.

As the clone ventured in even further, an ethereal clump of black grass that resembled the longleaf swordgrass appeared deep within the forbidden area. Once it appeared, it teleported to Six-Path Flower’s clone.

It looked at the clone in disbelief.

"I knew that you wouldn’t die so easily, given your ability."

The phantom sounded relieved. Six-Path Flower was equally in disbelief when it saw the ethereal creature that appeared. Lu Ran and Six-Path Flower simply assumed that there was something related to the Void Grass in the area. They never expected to see the Void Grass itself.

"Didn’t you die in battle?" The clone looked at the Void Grass in confusion.

"I did," the Void Grass answered. “Not long after you fell in the battle, I fell as well. As I was about to die, I escaped through a crack in space to return to my homeland. I tried to revive myself, but ultimately failed. Now, I am just a residual will formed by unfilled desires.

“My desire was for you and the Divine Tree. I hoped that the two of you were still somehow alive. I believed that your ability would allow you to come back to life at some point in the future. It looks like I am right. You’ve lost a lot of power, but it’s a small price to pay. My other desire was to see the fulfillment of our common wish."

"I see. I was drawn by your desire.”

"Are those your current companions?" The Void Grass could sense Lu Ran and Captain Doofus, who were far off in the distance.

"I don't know what happened, but it looks like you’ve made a contract with humans.”

"He’s the reason I am able to resurrect."

"Is that so? Regardless of how it happened, it’s good to be alive again."

Six-Path Flower hesitated for a moment before it asked, "Is there still a chance for you to resurrect?"

"Me? I don’t have the power of reincarnation like you do, so this is it for me," the Void Grass lamented.

“It’s ok. You came at the right time. I didn’t expect that mantis would let you into the void. Although I can't resurrect, I can still pass on my will. The war shouldn’t be over yet. When my body decomposed, a lot of my power dissipated into the void, but a small part of it was able to gather here. If I'm not mistaken, there seems to be a species that I enlightened here with you."

The Void Grass looked at the longleaf swordgrass next to Captain Doofus. The longleaf swordgrass was a species that transcended thanks to the Void Grass. It could actually be considered the Void Grass’ descendant. It even shares a similar power.

“My Star Splitting Sword Intent is not suitable for you, but it should still be helpful if I give it to one of your companions. It will take my place by your side in the future. This sword intent allowed me to cut apart the world barrier and defeat the Void God, who then allowed me to enter the Stellar Moon World."

"Star Splitting Sword Intent?"

Lu Ran was slightly shocked by the Void Grass revelations.

Sudden Death King, who was just chilling, was also shocked.
