Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Abigail placed the last plate on the metal puddle they used to call a counter.
"I think we should eat in the dining room today,” Anna suggested taking the plates off before they could slip off the disfigured counter, disappearing from view.
Abigail sighed folding her apron as Anna came back, "they're still upstairs?" Abigail asked but was interrupted when Alessia came strolling down the stairs with a bag pack slung around her shoulder.
Anna folded her arms watching her descend the stairs, "did you forget we agreed no school today?" She asked as Alessia kissed her cheek then Abigail's before taking a seat next to the melted counter top.
"No, of course not. I just thought since were training all day I should bring an extra pair of clothes, you know just in case Azian decides to burn or Drown Khloe and we get scorched a little or wet in the process, I would like to be prepared" she replied causing Abigail to chuckle.
The girl did have a point. But she hoped to Erania, Azian would just behave and stick to the plan. This was the one shot they had.
"Uh huh" Anna replied actually impressed for once.
"Where's breakfast?" Alessia asked searching for the food, she sniffed around for a few seconds, "I can smell it but I can’t. I just can't see it, you know?"
"In the dining room, as you can see the counters useless," Abigail replied with a deep sigh.
Alessia pushed her chair back taking in the art that was the counter, "totally wicked" she said eyeing it closely.
"Get your little butt into the dining room,” Anna cooed smacking her shoulder gently causing Alessia to frown, "one joke and it's time out for me. Azian literally melts the kitchen and the shower and gets a free pass,” she muttered as she stalked away from them.
"Ugh, where did I go wrong?" Anna mumbled glancing at the dining room door.
"Are you kidding? Alessia's Adorable, Micheal would be so proud" Abigail replied placing her elbow on the counter.
Anna laughed a little, "Yeah, he would love her" She replied with a small smile.
Abigail was going to say something when Ena and Maria walked in through the door.
"Morning!" Anna called cheerfully.
"Morning" Ena and Maria replied but their faces were far from cheerful, barely soaring her a proper glance.
"What's wrong?" Abigail asked her heart thudding. Not bad news, .please. She couldn't take any more of it.
"Have you seen the news?" Ena asked raising her eyebrows.
"News? Who watches that anymore?" Alessia called from the dining hall, with a soft giggle.
Abigail rolled her eyes, "no we haven't. What? What's happened now?"
Mariah glanced at Ena before sighing. She took out her phone, browsing through it for a second, "here" she said.
Anna moved to Abigail as a video began playing. A female reporter, with Dark hair and a decent pair of brown eyes stood in the middle of a street, "I'm here in Torent, one of the fastest growing towns in North America on Roland and Isles street. Here just a few hours ago, a mysterious event occurred.
As you can see behind me, street polls have seemingly been melted to metal molds and Cars are nothing but bubbles of metal sprawled on the street.
Witnesses claim that it was near to midnight when they saw what they could only describe as a flaming ball of fire burning in the middle of street.
Some believe it was a meteor of some sort but there is no evidence of such, whilst others believe it must have been. Aliens. "
She trailed off as a pissed looking man in nothing but pajama’s studded towards her, "Aliens or not, somebody’s got to pay for my Rhodes Royce!" He bellowed before the reporter snatched the microphone from his hands, pushing him away. A bigger man helping her shoo him off.
"Aliens or not, " the reporter continued, brushing her hair away as she adjusted her skirt "something extraordinary is happening here in the small town of Torent. " she paused touching her ear, leaning gently to the side, with a lost look in her eyes, " this just in, in this same town, four bodies have been found brutally murdered in an alley, details to be given in our next broadcast, My name is Kira Lu'wain, reporting for the 10 o'clock Channel 10 news right here in Torent."
Abigail buried her face into her hands for a second shaking her head as she looked back at the group, "he didn't.” She trailed off before nodding, "he did."
"It pains me to say but we should leave Torent sooner than we expected as you suggested Abigail. Those in search for Azian will know he is here the moment they see this" she said referring to the phone.
"How long do we have?"
"Two to three days tops, is all we can spare" Ena replied, "we knew this day would come but Alpha still isn't out yet. We have no choice but to go, mother protector."
"Go where?" Edwin asked as he and Azian came down the stairs. At the same time Alessia walked in, "were leaving Torent? Again?" She asked with her mouth full.
Azian and Edwin paused at this.
Abigail's eyes widened as all eyes were on her. She threw her hands up in the air with frustration, "were getting too carried away!" She paused rattling her fingers against the metal, "we will. We will have to move but don’t even say it!" She screeched before anyone of the three kids could blow up.
"It’s not safe anymore in Torent, not safe for any of us" she said lowly pushing her locks out of her face, "we can discuss this later but right now we need to focus on ONE thing! Does that make sense to you guys?" She asked staring sternly at each one of them.
They all nodded as Edwin and Azian settled on the seat. Abigail eyed Azian sternly for a moment before shaking her head sighing, "Khloe will be here any minute, please ...just stick to the plan. I know how you feel but for the sake of us all, for once since this dreaded year began, do as I say....I say these things because I want to protect and not control you" she said softly touching his arm.
