Chapter 70: Chapter 70

Kaya’s POV

I woke up to the sun shining directly into my face and someone shaking my shoulder gently, I groaned squinting my eyes to block out the subs burning rays turning to find Ally's concerned face hovering over me.

A look of relief washed over her face, "good, you're up. I was starting to think you had died on me. Come on, get up, we're going to be late" she cooed giving me a push which sent me rolling off the bed.

I landed with a thud on the floor and groaned but pulled the blanket down with me creating my own little space on the floor, my hand reached up feeling for my pillow before grabbing it and pulling it down to me.

I curled up on the floor and sighed closing my eyes in satisfaction before the blanket was ripped from me.

"Kaya wake up! We’re going to be late"

"I'm not going to school, it's a Friday, who cares about Friday let the weekend commence already!" I retorted.

Ally sighed sitting cross legged in front of me as I sat up, "why don't you want to go to school today?" she asked softly tilting her head to the side.

I gave her a tired look, "haven't you been through enough? I'm sure Aunt Lily wouldn't mind us not going to school today"

"Yeah maybe, but I promised my mom I would, it her only condition before allowing me to sleep over, " Ally replied poking my shoulder in a childish manner.

I grinned involuntarily because it tickled and she knew it, I stood up sitting up on the bed, "I don't know, I think I'll stay back today" I replied my voice small and less than audible.

She looked up at me from the floor, "is this because of Legion and what happened yesterday? Or. Is this because you don't want to see Azian?"

I didn't reply only giving her a stern look of which I had no basis.

She stood up dropping next to me, shaking the bed as she pulled her legs up, "really Kaya, its okay to be confused about the two of them"

"I'm not confused!" I snapped, "I mean other than fact that neither of them are human, if I can see past that...” I dragged, "it's pretty clear, I'm Legions mate, it does explain a lot and Khloe, Khloe belongs to Azian."

"Then why does he spend so much time with you? Why does he sneak into your room at night and give you kisses" she asked like a small toddler, poking my shoulder again causing me to smile above my annoyance, managing only to roll my eyes.

I did ask him that last night had I not? He still hadn't answered, seemingly feeling more than satisfied to let me jump to my own conclusions instead of laying it all out on the table for me,

"I'm nothing to him, maybe just something of interest? Something that peaked his interest enough to kiss me the first day he laid eyes on me, maybe he was just you know. Being a boy!" I retorted not even understanding what I was saying but feeling so frustrated.

"But he said you were his everything" Ally began not at all helping as she stared at me, "and that little argument you guys had sounded a lot like a lovers quarrel" she added as if deep in thought, "I would have thought you two were mates. Mates of course we know that Leg-.." She trailed off as she saw the tears in my eyes and her face morphed into concern engulfing me into a big bear hug.

"Oh kaya, don't cry!" She eased

"I-*sob* am not*sob*crying *sob* promise!" I lied as she clutched on to me her hands running over my two large braids I had done before I cried myself to sleep last night.

She hummed patting my head softly like a puppy, "he seems to have affected you so much Kaya, are you.." She trailed off as if searching for the right way to ask the question, "Do you want to be Legions mate?" She asked causing me to pull out of her grasp with a short gasp as I wiped my tears.

"Yes! I mean, I am-I." I trailed off trying to see past my tears, "I mean I don't mind it?" I asked rather than stated.

She looked at me in confusion, "you don't mind it?" She echoed as if what I had asked confused her beyond belief.

"I'm okay with it" I replied nodding fast to assure her.

I was fine with it, it didn't bother me. I mean being someone’s mate was scary thing all by itself especially for someone who hadn't really expected it at all.

Just being told that you were the one person a Lycan has been waiting for years and he would do anything for you was admittedly a lot to swallow but I didn't feel bad about being Legions mate. It was something I didn't mind...

And that was okay right? Yeah it was okay.

Ally looked at me with a question in her eyes, "Kaya are you listening to yourself? You don't mind it? You're okay with it? You're not even excited. Have you seen Legion? The boys a literal dream, he is powerful, handsome and..." She trailed off searching my eyes as if for some sort of sign before sighing reaching out for my hands, "close your eyes" she ordered.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but nevertheless did as I was told, "tell me how you feel about Legion. And Azian, don't think just feel. Let's start with Legion."

I gritted my teeth wondering where she was going with this.

"Kaya, just picture Legion in your mind and tell me what you feel."

"This is stupid" I muttered peaking from underneath my eyelashes.

She slapped my hand, "close them and do what I say" she ordered squeezing my hands.

I sighed, breathing out harshly, okay. Legion. Simple. Picture legion.

Legions face flashed into my mind, a replay of the first time I had seen him, in the alley when he stole my phone, his bothersome smirk in the classroom, then the scene shifted to his ever attentive eyes boring into mine in the gym as he sat next to me eyes never leaving.

I felt a smile creep up on my cheeks and blush came out unexpectedly when I remembered his peck on the lips excuse of a kiss he had given me in the town library, frowning when it shifted back to when Ally and I decided to visit him at his house.

It morphed into his sorry smile when he practically begged for my attention and I couldn't help but chuckle quietly at his embarrassed face when he told me liked me, it then went to more recent events, when he appeared to save me and my heart fluttered, his words echoing in my mind, "you're mine, "

I opened my eyes unexpectedly catching Ally’s large brown eyes which were studying my face inquisitively.

"And?" She whispered, her voice low for some reason, "how do you feel?"

A warm feeling echoed through me and I genuinely smiled, "he's a big jerk sometimes, a big one but he's sweet,” I blushed, "and dreamy" I replied with a lofty look which sent Ally chuckling.

I watched her pull a strand of her hair away before her face turning back to me as her grin faded, "okay, now Azians turn"

The moment she said his name my heart began to beat wildly and my brain did a dive. I didn't want to think of him for some reason. I felt sad and lonely, and cold. Very cold.

"Close your eyes Kaya," Ally said softly making me look at her. I shook my head, I didn't want to do this.

She stopped me before I could climb out of bed, "just trust me on this one, Kaya come on, you can do it" she eased staring right into my eyes in assurance.

I looked away biting my lip, no, not this way.

"Close your eyes Kaya, just think of him" Ally whispered lowly.

I clenched my jaw glancing at her one more time before forcing myself to close my eyes. It took a while for me to focus, my brain was trying to think of anything and everything else which was not him.

"Relax, just breathe" Ally soothed clasping my hands tighter in hers.

I took a deep breath out trying to steady myself, opening my eyes for a second before shutting them tightly. It was just Azian. No biggie....no...Biggie.

He flashed into my mind not slow and steady like Legions had been but so fast it brought a sudden rush through me, in a second, he had kissed me, his eyes had closed in relief to my touch, his soft knocks on my door had been heard, his eyes stormed like a lightening shutting out everything.

Every word he had ever said to me was ringing through my mind like they were being played at the same time.

"I shouldn't be here," he whispered. "But I can't stay away any longer,"

"I don't hate it,” he replied, "there's nothing you do I hate,"

"What's your favorite color?" He asked

I paused watching him, my fingers relaxed, "gold," I finished

His eyes seemed to shine brighter.

Like what I said pleased him.

"Please" he begged, his voice dragged like he was holding on to something, "let me hold you, "

"You should be thinking about me, you are made for me" as he said it his eyes glowed even more as he stared directly at me.

"I do, it's impossible to forget anything about you. You were designed to be a mystery I obsess over"

"I like everything you do, " his eyes skipped turning to the blue I was so familiar with startling me for a second, " so beautifully" he said before they turned to a forest green, " so beautiful" they repeated before turning back to gold.

I'm going to keep you, Kaya, his grin faded slowly...

If only you were mine.

Tears brimmed and I was suddenly pulled into ally’s arms as she hugged me, "it's okay Kaya" she eased as I whimpered, clutching on to her tightly.

"I hate him, he wasn't fair, he-" I trailed off as she hushed me rubbing my back soothingly, "it's okay kaya,” she soothed.

After a few moments Ally held me at arms length and I immediately regretted the question she was going to ask,

"You love him don't you?" She asked a little baffled.

I didn't want to reply to her question. Love? Was that it? The question echoes through my mind and my skin crawled.

But it didn't make any sense. I was Legions mate there was no way I could love Azian...it didn't work like that. At least I think it didn't. I was not an expert in this field.

"Now I know somebody did not just say the L word in my house" Aunt Lily boomed making us immediately snap our heads toward the open door Aunt Lily was currently standing in with her arms folded against her chest.

I had hardly noticed the door had been open.

She walked in raising an eyebrow, "now I don't know much about this soul mate thing but Loves a pretty strong word and I do not want your barely eighteen year old self jumping into things you have no idea over, the beast boy just appeared out of nowhere and now you saying you love him? I should smack your pretty little head."

Ally rolled her eyes, "relax, don't jump to conclusion, we weren't even talking about Legion, " she huffed causing me to smack her on her shoulder.

She stared at me viciously before her eyes widened and she clamped her mouth shut realizing what she had just said.

"Oh really, so who we loving now?" Aunt Lily asked now standing before us with a look that said you better say it now, don't make me smack you.

"Well, maybe it's best she knows, I mean, we shouldn't really be keeping secrets, she already knows about Legion, I say she's part of the gang”

Ally and her big mouth!

Aunt Lily looked at me curiously her lips pursed in a straight line, as if challenging me to lie. I sighed, "Its Azian" I said in a small voice glancing at the ground.

Aunt Lily’s eyes widened, she knew who Azian was AKA Mr. Asshole, she was about to say something when the doorbell rang.

She didn't move for a while watching me but the doorbell rang again, saving our souls.

"You should get the door" I said in a low voice,

"Yeah, Kaya needs to shower, it's...uhmm. We're almost late for school" Ally added in an equally low voice.

The doorbell rang for the third time and Aunt Lily glanced back up, her eyes turning on us before creepily turning around without saying a word.

Ally and I exchanged looks as she disappeared out the door, "shower" Ally finally said and I decided to drop it.

I took a quick shower since we were going to be late for school and as fast as I could,  dressed up with Ally's help of course before scattering down the stairs.

The first thing I heard was a familiar deep voice booming in anger, "Lilian, I told you I want to see her!" He bellowed.

"And I told you, you will!" Aunt Lily fired back

"You have no right to keep me from my daughter!"

"Who says I'm keeping you from your daughter? You did that all by yourself when you chose another family over her!"

"I did not choose anyone over Kaya! How dare you! What did you do to her? Why do you insist on keeping her from me?!"

"Are you crazy Liam? If I wanted to do that I wouldn't have let your crazy ass in here, you should be grateful you even stepped foot into my house!"

"Dad!" I called before he could say anything and his face snapped in my direction, studying me for a second before visibly relaxing.

"See, didn't I tell you, you would see her?" Aunt Lily snapped back at him as I came down the stairs

Immediately he engulfed me in a hug as soon as I was in close vicinity causing me to worry, wondering what was going on, "oh thank heavens you're alright" he said squeezing me tight.

I looked at him in surprise, but before I could say anything Aunt Lily spoke up, "Well of course she is alright! I take good care of my niece thank you!"

"That's not what Gabrielle told me" Dad replied before holding me at arm’s length as if doing a full examination of me.

"Mom?" I echoed as he checked my hair, "Dad I'm alright,” I muttered stepping back before he could examine me any further, "what did mom say?" This probably had something to do with the call aunt Lily made last night.

Dad took a deep breath out as if in satisfaction before glancing at Aunt Lily, "Gabrielle called and said you told her something was wrong with Kaya, she said you sounded pretty stressed over the phone blabbing about beasts and things that don't make sense she was scared something was really wrong,  so after lecturing me as usual for apparently what a bad Father I am and lousy husband she told me to go and see if you're alright, she said she's booking the first flight over here to make sure you were okay because even if I checked she would trust my word for it"

"I don't blame her" Aunt Lily muttered looking at my father in disgust.

I was still dumbfounded about what Dad said about Mom coming home.

"And I don't blame her for thinking Kaya's not safe with you, obviously you're crazy!' He retorted, “I’m taking her home with me, from today on, she will live with me"

"What?" Both Aunt Lily and I echoed. Ally cleared her throat awkwardly.

"You must have lost your mind boy! She isn't going anywhere with you and that family of yours. I won't allow it. I sure as hell know Gabrielle won't stand for it!"

"Who cares if you don't like it? She's my daughter and if I say she's coming home with me then she is. This was only a temporary arrangement after all."

"I'll show you wants temporary! Your stay in my house! Get the hell out Liam!"

"My pleasure, but I'm taking my daughter with me!"

"The hell you will-"

"Enough!" I screamed. Dad and Aunt Lily looked at me with wide eyes, "why do you two always have to act like children around each other?" I huffed out hugging my bag that draped loosely over my right shoulder.

I turned to Aunt Lily, "I know you and Dad have problems. Big problems with each other but please! Would it kill you to at least talk to him like he is my father?"

"As soon as he starts acting like it" she muttered.

"Lillian I'm going to-"

"Stop it!" I yelled, before turning to Aunt Lily, "please. Just. Please" I begged closing my eyes, clasping my hands together in a prayer like motion.

She refused to look at Dad but nodded in agreement, allowing me to tend to Dad,

"Dad, Come on, you know exactly how I feel about your new family and if you love me like you say you do, you will respect my wishes when I say I'm very much comfortable where I am and Aunt Lily’s doing a fine job taking care of me as you can see."

"Word!" Aunt Lily backed up completely ignoring by earlier plea.

"But Kaya-"

"No dad, I do not want to move in with you for the last time!" I screeched.

I shut my eyes massaging the bridge of my nose, a wave of guilt flooding through me for yelling at my father.

But I was seriously not in the mood for this. There were other things playing my mind and this was only adding on to my headache.

"Dad," I began using the sweetest voice I could muster at the moment, "I love you, I really do but you can't force me to move in with you." I stated plainly glancing at Aunt Lily for a second before turning back to him, "thank you for coming to check on me but I'm fine, you can just tell mom I'm okay and that you all were just over reacting, there's no need for her to come here all the way from China! Y'all just be over reacting. I can't believe this..." I trailed of trying to concentrate. My family was unbelievable.

"Now if you please excuse me, Ally and I are late for class" I said motioning to Ally who immediately joined me.

"Kaya, I'm picking you up from school today, we still have things to talk about" Aunt Lily called, I knew she was referring to the Azian issue.

"No, I'll pick her up that will at least give me time to speak to my daughter."

"Oh so now you want time with her? Where were you in January February March and every other damn month she been here? You planning on kidnapping her Liam?" Aunt Lily argued.

"I can't believe you are going to argue about this with me...once again!"

"Hell I will, you are-"

"Why don't you just both pick me up huh? If that's what you want to do today, just do it! No more arguing! I mean it!" I screamed back at them.

"It's either none of you come, or both of you, pick a side!"

They both stared at each other,

"There’s no way I'm allowing you to pick her up from school alone without my supervision," Aunt Lily began eyeing my father up and down.

"Then it's settled!" I screeched before Dad could reply, "I'll see you both after school, and don't be late! It's Friday today." I yelled before banging the door shut behind me.

Agh, I just knew this day would be a whirl wind from the moment I woke up, I just didn't realize it would be ending worse than it had begun.
