Chapter 47: Chapter 47
Kaya’s POV
I was never coming out. Ever. That's right I would live in this toilet for the rest of the school year.
I couldn't believe I did that! What is wrong with me? And I just lay there for a good minute staring at him. Oh my lord.
I failed to comprehend how I got to that position. Why am I so clumsy? Oh great I would never live this down.
How was I supposed to look at him the same way, everybody at school would be talking about this till graduation?
As if by magic my phone buzzed. I checked it still seated on the toilet seat.
"No!!!" I screeched watching the video that was circulating. The fall had been captured, every single bit.
I buried my head in my hands groaning, tears threatened to spill. So stupid and so clumsy!
I was currently wallowing in my sorrows in the girl’s toilet and successfully missing geography.
Of all the dumb things that could have happened to me today. This?!!!
I leaned my head against the toilet wall shutting my eyes closed counting down from a hundred tying to think of anything bit what had just transpired between Mr Popular Aka Mr jerk face a near hour ago.
The rest of my school year will be haunted by the Azian girl’s fan club. I will be dubbed the most unfortunate girl of the year.
I'm sure if I ever made it into the year book people would only remember me as the girl who tripped Azian.
I kept counting down from a hundred for God knows how long, just trying to kill time and the negative thoughts.
My phone buzzed again and I was so reluctant to check but luckily it was only a text from Ally asking where I was.
I miserably texted back and five minutes later I heard someone whisper my name.
"Kaya? Are you in here?" Ally called.
I knocked on my toilet door twice and the next second Ally was standing before me.
"Kaya!"
"Ally" I groaned as she hugged me. We stayed like that for a few minutes, "you saw the video?" I whispered in between my soft whimpers.
"Honey everyone's seen it" she replied rubbing my shoulders.
I groaned louder burying my face into her arms, "it's not that bad, everybody saw you tripped it was just bad luck" she eased.
I looked up at her through watery eyes, "I'm so clumsy"
She grinned, "Everyone is around him, I say it's his fault for being so good looking" she replied.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her stupid remark. "C’mon let's go to our next class" she whispered.
"No thank you. No classes for me today" I replied in my baby voice.
"C’mon Kaya, you'll have to come out one day"
"Maybe but I not two hours after the incident" I replied yawning a little.
"Fine I'll stay with you, I can't trust you to be alone"
I grinned at this, no one could compare to my Tink.
***
Just as the last bell was heard Ally and I had already dashed ourselves out and in no time on the road.
"You'll be fine!" Ally shouted as she drove off. I smiled watching the car disappear down the road before.
I dragged myself into the house remembering that Aunt Lily texted she would be out later than usual.
I made myself a ice cream mix plopping myself in front of the TV. But I couldn't watch anything. Nothing at all. My mind kept switching back to the incident.
Staring into his ocean blue eyes that trailed with specks of golden dust.
Gold.
Wheels started turning in my mind as I remembered vividly, rewinding every scene in my mind.
"Let me in Kaya" the words echoed through my mind suddenly causing me to freeze dropping the spoon back in the bowl.
His face. He was so-so drained.
He seemed as bad as he looked the first time. I had looked at him, slumped shoulders and tired eyes.
Let me in.
I shook my head trying to stop all these thoughts. My dreams we're just dreams. There was no way it could be real. Or could they?
Nah- I was tripping. For real now.
I put the bowl back on the table grabbing my phone. Reluctantly I played back the video. I really was a clumsy fool but I couldn't help but noticed how perfect we looked at that moment, the feel of his hands around my waist protectively sent flashbacks of the dream before when he held me in his arms. But this was real life.
This actually happened. In real life.
A smile crept its way onto my face unexpectedly. My eyes dropped back to the movie I was watching grabbing the bowl of ice cream this time going through the whole movie with a magic smile on my face.
As the movie ended I took the bowl back into the kitchen getting ready to rinse it when I heard a knock at the door.
My eyebrows furrowed wondering who would be at the door, drying my hands I walked to the front door opening it slowly.
I couldn't believe who it was.
"Khloe?" I asked confusion splattered across my face. Just like in my nightmares she was finally standing at my door. Who knew Khloe knew where I lived.
She gave me a half smile, one that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"W-what are you doing here?" I asked trying my best not to sound like I despised her.
She rolled her eyes letting herself in, her six inch heels clicking with every step she took. Her fashion was way too high for me, but I would be lying if I said she didn't look good.
Khloe was flawless in so many ways.
"I came to see you silly,” she replied leaning against the counter, "we are sisters are we not?" She asked.
I walked past her, "I guess according to the law" I replied moving to the cupboard, "uhmm...Anything I can offer you?"
"I doubt it,” her eyes seemed to do a full body search of me, still in my jeans only now I had thrown on a comfy oversized sweater.
"Is there. Another reason as to why you came, you can just say it?" I asked feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately for me it was about to get way less comfy.
She sighed "thank God you are straight forward because I didn’t know if there was a kind way to put this and I seriously have no time to start brain storming" she folded her arms looking at me straight in the eye with such intensity, “I have no problem with you Kaya, really I don't. If anything I feel sorry for you, your mother still in love with my father and such"
The way she said my father I felt the need to remind her he was ours way before she ever came in.
But all I wanted was to get this confrontation over with, obviously I knew where this conversation was heading to. Classic jealous girlfriend situation.
"Long story short, I saw the video. It may have looked like you had just tripped but these days girls would do anything for attention, especially ones in your position"
"Wait- What? What do you mean in my position?" I asked raising an eyebrow as I folded my arms.
She rolled her eyes, "duh, anyone can see how miserable you are, your mothers left to God knows where, my father barely pays attention to you and I know you are jealous of what I have. So if this is a way of, “payback" for taking all you once had, it's a low blow one that isn't going to work. So keep your claws away from Azian or we will have problem....sister," she replied with a scowl before grabbing her bag and walking toward the door.
"Hey hold up" I called after her tilting my head to the side. Trying to grasp my head around the fact that I had just been insulted under my own roof.
She stopped in her tracks as I approached her, "you cannot walk into my home and talk to me like that. FYI, I am not no, have never and will never be jealous of anything you have. Yes it was not easy when your mother walked in and took my Dad away from us." I breathed out sharply, making sure to emphasize the term of possession.
"My mother did not abandon me and you have no right even insinuating that she did. Not that I blame you, it's clear you wouldn't know anything about a mothers love or sacrifice and as for Azian, if your relationship was as strong as people say you wouldn't even think of me as a threat. And yes I did slip unexpectedly, I wouldn't stoop that low just for attention, it's not that valuable to me as it obviously is to you"
"Did you just-"
"Defend myself? Yes I did" I replied tugging back a strand of behind my ear, "you may now take your leave...sister" I added.
I watched her mouth drop before she stormed away. I rolled my eyes slamming the door shut. Good riddance I thought.
I walked back to the sink, glancing at the dishes before rolling up my sleeves. Something stained the dishes red. I felt the sticky sensation drip from my nose and I immediately raced to the bathroom I was bleeding from my nose.
Ewe.
